My wife and I tried Pizza Vendor in Scappoose for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I honestly can't believe it took us this long to stop in. From the very first bite, it was clear this place is doing pizza the right way. We ordered a split pizza -- half pepperoni and half barbecue bacon chicken -- which is always a great way to get a true feel for a pizza place, and both halves were absolutely fantastic. The pepperoni side was classic and comforting, with just the right amount of crisp on the pepperoni and a perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and crust. Nothing overdone, just solid, well-executed pizza that hits exactly how you want it to. The barbecue bacon chicken side completely surprised us in the best way. The sauce was flavorful without being overpowering, the chicken was tender, and the bacon added that extra layer that made every bite better than the last. It wasn't greasy or heavy, just rich, satisfying, and clearly made with care. What really stood out was the quality of the crust. It had that ideal combination of crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, which is something not every pizza place gets right. You can tell they know their dough and aren't cutting corners. Beyond the food, Pizza Vendor just feels like one of those places that belongs in a town like Scappoose -- welcoming, reliable, and clearly loved by the community. It's the kind of spot you can tell people come back to again and again, whether it's for a quick dinner, a family night, or just because you're craving a really good slice. This was our first visit, but it definitely won't be our last. Pizza Vendor has officially earned a spot in our regular rotation, and we're already looking forward to trying more of the menu. Highly recommend. read more

My favorite pizza in the west! Outstanding crispy crust and delicious toppings with so many to choose from. Always a great meal and excellent service! Friendly and welcoming, casual dining. Look forward to my "pizza night" every week. read more

crust is too dense and thick. The place has a late 70s early 80s decor and looks like it has been there since that time. Mildly nostalgic but there's better pizza elsewhere. Service was good though. read more

Old school style pizzeria that is fantastic. This place is reminiscent of childhood where you'd go out for pizza with the sports team and all have a great time after the game. It's unfortunate that a lot of pizza places like this are now gone. The pizza was fantastic. Especially after a long day of riding motorcycles, it was absolutely delicious. The service was very quick and attentive. I love the fountain drink served in chilled mugs too. What a great touch. I highly recommended to visit if you want to relive your childhood or just have some great pizza. read more

I love the vegetarian pizza from Pizza Vendor. It's literally the only pizza I like and they have the best vegetarian pizza! But they keep leaving off the tomatoes!! The fresh tomato slices on top of the pizza are the BEST part. I literally said when I ordered BOTH TIMES, "Is this this pizza with the fresh tomato slices on top" and was told yes. But they left them off AGAIN. I called and was given to a manager who said "Do you want me to write you a free card?" NO! I want you to make it right and stop screwing this up. I'm not eating this expensive pizza that's not correct. I'm so disappointed...and the staff just kept offering a free one...and a dismissive apology. I don't think anyone cared. read more

I've lived here in Scappoose for 30+ years. Seen pizza restaurants come and go. This is and was, the Scappoose / St. Helens after sports pizza stop for decades. Incredible thin crispy crust, fresh and abundant toppings, absolutely setting the standard for delicious pizza, that is NOT all dough. The irony is eating here is more taste, more choices, and less dough. Both in the meal, and out of the pocket. Please take my invite, and enjoy! read more

Best pizza around! I've heard people drive from Portland to get Pizza Vendor pizza. Brought some out of town guests here late on a Thursday night and the staff is friendly and accommodating as they always are. I wish every pizza joint was as fantastic, but then Pizza Vendor wouldn't stand out as the nostalgic gem that it is. read more

Pizza Vendor - Combination! - Pizza Near Me - Scappoose, Oregon

This has to be the best pizza I have ever had. I grew up in LA & have never tasted anything this great. Their crust is perfect, crunchy & flavorful, I haven't had a crust this good in many years. The sauce is amazing, the spices in it blended so perfectly to give you just right amount of richness to compliment the toppings of the pizza. I can't believe I live near this place & just discovered it today, thank goodness for driving off the main road. I highly recommend this place, it has an old school pizza parlor feel & the manager was this sweet sassy woman who has been a positive force with the young cooks here. You could just tell it's a community type place. read more

Pizza Vendor - a man about to eat a pizza - Pizza Near Me - Scappoose, Oregon

Don't know what happened, but the crust on this pizza business, has gone to $#! ! My gosh, it is flour, lard very flakey and hard, but not a pizza crust. Never enough sauce. read more

So I just went in there for a few meals for my family. As I placed my order the restaurant wasn't busy but after my order was placed the business picked up tremendously. No big deal except the fact that my order came out after a birthday party that came in and ordered after me. 40 minutes waiting. No surprise my order was cold. Then when I get home the au jus for my French dip is straight powder. So I walk back to complain. Late order, cold food, powder au jus. And the food was sub par. Wouldn't be a big deal if the owner ( who I was talking to) offered a simple apology and made the slightest effort to make things right. In return I got nothing and a basically "tough luck dude sucks to be you" response. It's a shame because I love the pizza here but after this experience Id he surprised if I ever saw myself ordering from here again. read more

Visiting vendor pizza is like seeing an old friend. Inviting familiar. It being in such a small neighborhood you get the feeling you might be paying too much for a pizza with no surprise. Non the less the quality and taste is there. Deliveries are not available and that always encourages me to order domino's. read more

Super low key local pizza served fresh and hot for walk in service but seems like the bulk of the locals do take out. Pizza was hot and delicious! (We ate in) we opted for the large all meat and a large pizza. No disappointment here we will definitely be back! read more

Pizza Vendor is a favorite. They load the pizza with toppings and the crust is a perfect mix of crunchy and flaky. Retro place with the best ice (those small chewable bits). read more

I love this place and have been eating here for the last thirty plus years. It's may not be the absolute best pizza on the west coast, some might call it plain or even fake American pizza but it sure hits the spot and meets all my expectations. I get the Big Kahuna (Canadian bacon and pineapple) giant, with extra meat and extra cheese, and the that whole pie all by myself. Sometimes it takes me a day or two but I always kill it, it is sooooo good. read more

The people that own and run this place are the BEST!!!! Love their pizza and salad bar!!! ONLY place in Scappoose to have pizza. Nowhere else in town even comes close!! They are so friendly here!! My pizza was a little too done for my taste, and they would not let me pay for it. Refunded my money, (even though I refused), and gave me a gift certificate for a lunch special!!!! The salad bar is great, and even though they were slammed with business, my wife and I did not have to wait a long time. Really like this place!! read more

This is the pizza place that you crave when you move away from Scappoose. Truly. There is no other pizza that compares to Pizza Vendor. Yes, I have sentimental value tied to this place--my parents used to take us here post-softball games, post-trick or treating antics, before my dad's band gigs, all of that. But the PIZZA. Cornmeal dusted thin crust, choice toppings, and a proud sense of a family-run business. It's unlike any pizza I've ever had. Does the salad bar kind of suck? Maybe a little. Do they still have ancient arcade games bleeping in the corner of the restaurant? Hell yes they do. Do we still order pizzas from this place now that my friends are adults and own homes in Scappoose, and we need that pizza after a night of boozing? YES. Yes, we do. Pizza Vendor for life. read more

It's an old building, reminded me of a Shakeys from the 80's. The pizza was crisp and the sausage had great flavor. The sauce was a little mild. I've heard the other pizza place in Scappoose is better but this was pretty dang good. And cheaper to boot! read more

The best pizza! Perfect thin, crisp crust. You don't come here for the beautiful ambiance, you come here because the pizza is incredible. If you are more of a Chicago style pizza then this isn't the pizza for you. My favorite is the taco pizza without the beef and add pineapple. Only thing I wish they would change is I wish they would start delivering! read more

We love this pizza. We like to go and pick it up . We usually order pepperoni and mushroom & pepperoni and olive. Their double cheese is really good. Based on the reviews I expected better pizza, but I'm from the east coast originally and it's really hard to find pizza that good in the Northwest. The pizza is OK, it's better than the other pizza options in Scappoose and is the only eat-in pizza (at least that I know of? We just moved here a few months ago). So that's something. And the people seem friendly, but most people in Scappoose are. The setup is weird, we only had a credit card and the cashier had to run the card for the full amount but only ring up the pizza on the register, then take $3 for the sodas from that register and put it in the other register down by the drinks area. One of the previous reviews mentioned no refills, but we were told that non-refill drinks are $1.50 and refillable drinks are $2.00 (soda pop). The wait was not bad, as there were only 2-3 other occupied tables in the place (8pm on a Tuesday). We only finished half our pizza and when I asked for a box I found out they're 40 cents. So be warned (though she did give it to me without charge this one time since I had no cash and it was my first time there). Definitely kid-friendly, we have a 13-month-old and everyone seemed happy to see him. And he seemed to like the pizza. I'm sure we'll be back. read more
