My wife and I tried Pizza Vendor in Scappoose for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I honestly can't believe it took us this long to stop in. From the very first bite, it was clear this place is doing pizza the right way. We ordered a split pizza -- half pepperoni and half barbecue bacon chicken -- which is always a great way to get a true feel for a pizza place, and both halves were absolutely fantastic. The pepperoni side was classic and comforting, with just the right amount of crisp on the pepperoni and a perfect balance of sauce, cheese, and crust. Nothing overdone, just solid, well-executed pizza that hits exactly how you want it to. The barbecue bacon chicken side completely surprised us in the best way. The sauce was flavorful without being overpowering, the chicken was tender, and the bacon added that extra layer that made every bite better than the last. Old school style pizzeria that is fantastic. This place is reminiscent of childhood where you'd go out for pizza with the sports team and all have a great time after the game. It's unfortunate that a lot of pizza places like this are now gone. The pizza was fantastic. Especially after a long day of riding motorcycles, it was absolutely delicious. The service was very quick and attentive. I love the fountain drink served in chilled mugs too. What a great touch. I highly recommended to visit if you want to relive your childhood or just have some great pizza. read more

I love the vegetarian pizza from Pizza Vendor. It's literally the only pizza I like and they have the best vegetarian pizza! But they keep leaving off the tomatoes!! The fresh tomato slices on top of the pizza are the BEST part. I literally said when I ordered BOTH TIMES, "Is this this pizza with the fresh tomato slices on top" and was told yes. But they left them off AGAIN. I called and was given to a manager who said "Do you want me to write you a free card?" NO! I want you to make it right and stop screwing this up. I'm not eating this expensive pizza that's not correct. I'm so disappointed...and the staff just kept offering a free one...and a dismissive apology. I don't think anyone cared. read more

I've lived here in Scappoose for 30+ years. Seen pizza restaurants come and go. This is and was, the Scappoose / St. Helens after sports pizza stop for decades. Incredible thin crispy crust, fresh and abundant toppings, absolutely setting the standard for delicious pizza, that is NOT all dough. This has to be the best pizza I have ever had. I grew up in LA & have never tasted anything this great. Their crust is perfect, crunchy & flavorful, I haven't had a crust this good in many years. The sauce is amazing, the spices in it blended so perfectly to give you just right amount of richness to compliment the toppings of the pizza. I can't believe I live near this place & just discovered it today, thank goodness for driving off the main road. I highly recommend this place, it has an old school pizza parlor feel & the manager was this sweet sassy woman who has been a positive force with the young cooks here. So I just went in there for a few meals for my family. As I placed my order the restaurant wasn't busy but after my order was placed the business picked up tremendously. No big deal except the fact that my order came out after a birthday party that came in and ordered after me. 40 minutes waiting. No surprise my order was cold. Then when I get home the au jus for my French dip is straight powder. So I walk back to complain. Late order, cold food, powder au jus. And the food was sub par. Wouldn't be a big deal if the owner ( who I was talking to) offered a simple apology and made the slightest effort to make things right. In return I got nothing and a basically "tough luck dude sucks to be you" response. It's a shame because I love the pizza here but after this experience Id he surprised if I ever saw myself ordering from here again. read more

It's may not be the absolute best pizza on the west coast, some might call it plain or even fake American pizza but it sure hits the spot and meets all my expectations. Now it is true that this is not my favourite pizza in the whole world - but its the best pizza in Columbia County! Based on the reviews I expected better pizza, but I'm from the east coast originally and it's really hard to find pizza that good in the Northwest. The pizza is OK, it's better than the other pizza options in Scappoose and is the only eat-in pizza (at least that I know of? We just moved here a few months ago). So that's something. And the people seem friendly, but most people in Scappoose are. The setup is weird, we only had a credit card and the cashier had to run the card for the full amount but only ring up the pizza on the register, then take $3 for the sodas from that register and put it in the other register down by the drinks area. One of the previous reviews mentioned no refills, but we were told that non-refill drinks are $1.50 and refillable drinks are $2.00 (soda pop). The wait was not bad, as there were only 2-3 other occupied tables in the place (8pm on a Tuesday). We only finished half our pizza and when I asked for a box I found out they're 40 cents. So be warned (though she did give it to me without charge this one time since I had no cash and it was my first time there). Definitely kid-friendly, we have a 13-month-old and everyone seemed happy to see him. And he seemed to like the pizza. I'm sure we'll be back. read more
