TLDR: it's honestly just not worth it. We got the Bismarck pizza and the truffle pizza after hearing so much hype about this place. Their pizza is really nothing to write home about. The pizza is soggy, and all the toppings slip and slide down as you try to pick up the pizza and attempt to take a bite. The truffle pizza costing $55 when it just tastes like a regular white pizza from any other pizza shop is unacceptable. The only reason this is not a 1 star review is because the manager "tried" making my experience better by offering dessert. The server serving us was a bit rude and entitled however. Just go to any other NYC pizza spot- I'd MUCH rather just have spent my time and money at places like L'industrie and Mama's Too.

Japan pizza hotspot, now in NYC! Run, don't walk to snag a reservation here. The dough? Enough to make you cry. The Wagyu meatballs? Literally melt-in-your-mouth delicious. They import all their high quality ingredients and know how to do pizza right. Snag a seat at the bar to made some new friends.

I knew I wanted to get to Pizza Studio Tamaki even before I got to NYC. On a Monday I tried for a Tuesday reservation and got waitlisted and then I tried for Wednesday and got a 5pm reservation for 1 at the bar. Score! After reading the menu I went with the Arrabbiata (DOP san marzano, cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, nduja, black pepper, garlic). I am always partial to nduja. Look at the beautiful charred bubbles on that chewy and light but crisp dough. I also really enjoyed the loose salt that stuck to the dough during the bake. I'm sold. If I lived in New York I'd be here every week or two. I had to order the Okinawa Salt Ice cream for dessert. It was the most creamy rich vanilla ice cream I've ever had. This was the most upscale pizza + ice cream meal ever. Loved it.

This pizza restaurant from Japan serves up Japanese-style pizza in a modern and vibey ambiance. Service is quick and friendly. We got their butter chicken pizza (an off-menu item, but so so good) as well as their arrabiata. Both pizzas were the perfect individual portion size and so yummy. They were light, crispy, and full of flavor. PST also has a great selection of Japanese beers and their sake bomb was a great pair to the meal.

We made a res here for a hot summer Wednesday. We made two individual ones as it was hard to get seated together. When we got there, we had to wait as someone was asking questions but the hostess was very nice and kind. We asked if we could sit together at the bar, and she made some magic happen and we got a table instead! Once we got seated, we got to ordering. We got the Bismarck on recommendation of our server, wagyu meatballs and the tamaki. Meatballs were very soft but winners were the pizza. My Bismarck was at the server described: breakfast on a pizza. It had chicken, pepper, mushrooms AND eggs! The tamaki was very flavorful and I loved the tomato that added flavoring. Overall, loved the place and I'd come back to try the butter chicken special.

Finally got a reservation to give them a shot and I already want to go back. The pizza is not cheap but you can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the dough. I usually don't enjoy the crust but ate all of it on my slices. The lightly salted bottom was a nice surprise.

I wanted to love PST but I couldn't. I appreciated zeppoles being on the menu as a NYC exclusive, but service and drinks were just okay... Food was pretty decent though!

Easily the fluffiest crust around in NYC. Did not get the chance to try this in Tokyo but so glad that it's now available here. Highly recommend having a reservation especially on the weekend nights. The pies are perfectly sized for one person but you definitely want to try multiple. We got the Bismarck and tamaki; both uniquely delicious in their own way. The Bismarck was incredibly savory whereas the tamaki was light and refreshing. Will definitely be back!

Came into this meal with pretty high hopes due to all the hype surrounding the place. The interior is nice, love the ambiance. Servers are friendly and attentive. The meatballs were just okay... grew up eating homemade Italian meatballs my whole life (pause) so I have a pretty high standard for them (double pause) and these didn't meet that standard. The pizza was decent -- extremely wet and sloppy, as soon as you pick a piece up everything falls off of it. I'm not a fan of Neapolitan style pizzas to begin with, and this just reaffirmed that stance I have. Flavors and ingredients were pretty good, but wish the cook and overall eating experience of the pizza were better. Prices are on the higher end for what you get. One and done for me for sure.

I'd heard about this pizza spot off St. Marks and was intrigued by the concept of Japanese-style pizza, which I'd never tried before. Reservations can be tough to get, so I stopped by on a Friday around 5:30 PM and luckily got the last available seat in the back where you can watch the chefs make the pizza. Before the meal, they served a small cup of mushroom soup, which was a nice surprise and absolutely delicious. I started with the PST salad and a glass of wine. The salad was light and fresh, with a flavorful dressing, plenty of Parmesan, and crispy prosciutto that added a great crunch. For my main course, I ordered the Tamaki pizza. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it ended up being excellent. The roasted tomatoes on top were really flavorful and the dough was pillowy, airy, and perfectly seasoned with the salt baked into the crust. The cheese had a smoky flavor that set it apart from traditional mozzarella, and I really enjoyed that unique twist. To finish, I ordered the ice cream with olive oil and sea salt...a combination I love. It was the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, this was a great experience, and I'm already looking forward to coming back with friends to try more of the pizzas and other dishes on the menu.

The Bismarck

Best pizza I've had in New York hands-down and I've tried all of the major spots. The Bismarck was also the most expensive pizza I've ever had in New York to be fair but definitely worth every single penny... thanks to Naomi Osaka I am $47 poorer but also very content. Pizza studio Tamaki is her favorite pizza spot in Tokyo which now has this location in New York and the Bismarck is her favorite pie. It really reminds me a lot of Cacio Pepe... but with sausage and egg it's very hard to describe. The salt punch, which is the pizza studio Tamaki signature action of adding salt directly to the oven right before placing the pie on top to cook really does add another level of deliciousness and complexity. The mushroom soup mini tasting was also the best soup that I probably have ever had as well. Highly recommend this place.

You can really taste the fresh ingredients. The crust was perfection. Really enjoyed the pizza here!! Thumbs up!!

If you love pizza for the bread, this is your pizza. But I found this arrabiata pizza to be really quite wet. It was more simply sauce on bread? Tbh it's not my preference. But their dough IS very fluffy and nice.

Believe the hype! This place is so good. Recommend a bar seat, as the service is just as good, if not better, and the setting is fun.

They sat us upstairs along the balcony overlooking the main dining room, and the decor... honestly, just look at the photo because I don't even know how to describe it The space used to be a church, and it is SO cool inside. Definitely not your average pizza joint. This place is popular -- there were plenty of people eating -- but surprisingly, our wait wasn't long at all. And even with all the bodies in there, it never felt crammed or uncomfortable. We ordered a small pizza and did half Shrimp Fra Diavolo and half Margherita. The Fra Diavolo had a little kick, but nothing crazy -- and this is coming from someone who cannot handle big spice The Margherita had just the right amount of basil and mozzarella, and that crispy crust was exactly what I wanted. Although there was no major cheese pull, it was still perfect. The small was plenty for the two of us and honestly just perfect. We also had a couple cocktails, which were delicious too. I always say NYC food pricing is kind of deceiving. You look at the price and go, "Ummm..." but then the food comes out and you realize they give you A LOT. Definitely felt like we got our money's worth here. Great pizza, really cool atmosphere, and a fun first NYC pizza experience for the husband. Happy Eating, Chass

The wait was worth it though because they know how to do pizza. The crust just crisp enough, the sauce flavorful, and the toppings plentiful. The service was friendly and quick given the number of people there. For my first trip to NYC, I'd make this a traditional stop for future visits.

Last year, I was at Nothing Really Matters, the bar next door, with a group of friends. Someone ordered pizza, and I had no idea where it came from. I just remember thinking, "Wow, this pizza is really good." That memory stuck with me, so when a friend and I decided to stop by See No Evil Pizza yesterday, I was excited to finally visit. I didn't realize reservations were recommended, but thankfully Ariel, the host, was able to fit us in. Ariel was fantastic - he was friendly, welcoming, and so accommodating despite us showing up without a reservation. Ariel provided excellent service from the moment we walked in until we left. I didn't take any photos, which I now regret, because their pepperoni pizza was salty, addictive, and just really, really good. The pepperoni was crisp, the crust had that perfect char and crunch, and I couldn't stop reaching for another slice. The restaurant is small, cozy, and inviting. If you've been thinking about checking this place out, go for it. You won't regret it.

Also, the different textures of the arugula, creaminess of the cheese, and the perfect crust will make it a memorable selection. For dessert, we shared the Buttermilk Panna Cotta. Do people not realize that putting a bar near a door on a freezing cold night benefits no one? Good thing I did not order alcohol or I would have froze to death. Seriously, none of the pies stood out in grand memory. All I can think of is, well, nothing. Nothing positive anyway. The names of the pies are funny, and the staff is friendly, but besides that, the quality of the food for lack of a better word, dare I say it, sucks. Hoping to salvage the meal, I ordered their Chicken Parmesan. It was the Hail Mary pass that unfortunately did not connect. The cutlets are overcooked and dry, and the red sauce cooked with it has minimal tomato flavor. At least the spaghetti is cooked to a nice al dente and mellow garlic butter flavor, but like the sauce cooked in, it is also minimal. Part of the problem I feel is they are trying to go for a vibe that has a New York and modern feel. It does not work. Stay true to one or the other. Or at least look at other business models. I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. It does this by not beating you over the head with hipster vibes, just enough to let you know that you are in Bushwick. The band Franz Ferdinand was playing as I was wrapping up. Rather than take the pizza out, I suggest you throw it out. Overall pizza rating: 1.7/5

I have to say the centerpiece of the entire narrow room is the bar itself, and let me tell you, it is an absolute stunner of a contrast. Instead of the usual dark, sticky tavern wood, they've dropped in a long, continuous slab of pristine, elegantly smooth white stone. It glows under the soft lighting like a block of polished marble. There are no strobe lights and no obnoxious, skull-rattling bass in this joint. Instead, the room is wrapped in a blanket of incredibly chill music that matches the pulse of the room perfectly. It's just loud enough to drown out the noise in your own head, but quiet enough that you don't have to scream over the smooth white counter to be heard. People aren't here to be seen on TikTok; they're here to disappear for an hour or three. You slide into a chair, order a proper Old Fashioned from a bartender who doesn't rush the pour, and watch the ice melt against the amber-lit brick. It's the ultimate underground exhale--a perfect, narrow slice of peace in a city that never shuts up. Cheers!
