This week I visited Jonny's for the second time, the first being around a year ago. It's a nice slice, great, fresh and crisp crust. I added jalapeños and was somewhat disappointed that they were uncooked, but maybe I had the wrong expectation. My friend got the pepperoni slide with vodka sauce and loved it. Do NOT order for delivery, you won't receive food & you will have no way to contact the business. I ordered directly through their website to support a small business. After ordering, I noticed that it was going to be 1.5-2 hour wait -- my mistake on not clocking this but OK. I received a message that the order was going to be delivered third party by Uber Eats. Thought this was strange so I decided to see if they were on Uber Eats - they are, offering BOGO for the items I ordered, as well as a sub one hour delivery time. Great to support a business directly, receive a worse deal, and over double the wait time. But OK, I'll wait. I never ended up receiving my food and the order was cancelled over 2.5 hours later. I live 1.5 miles from the restaurant. There is no way to get in contact with Jonny's because their phone line is either dead or faking busy, so you cannot get through. They do not respond to emails. They do not respond to the SMS messages. They do not respond to Instagram DM. Uber gives you the runaround for contact b/c they are third party delivery partners, rather than direct. Pretty insane to run a place with delivery and have no way to get in contact with the business. No idea how the pizza is, but can say that the service is trash. read more

Very ok quick slice in LES. They're located on a good corner of real estate where other businesses have tried and shuttered. I think I came in on a weeknight evening either right before Christmas or right after Christmas so the streets were only filled with local college-aged folks with no jackets waiting in line for Hair of the Dog or buying cigarettes across the street and then waiting in line for Hair of the Dog. Unfortunately the only choices at the moment were plain cheese or pepperoni slices so I can't speak on the vodka sauce. Overall, very decent tasting cheese slice. Tomato sauce was plain and bright, didn't need anything extra to it. The cheese was perfectly salty but both could've used a lighter hand, as the cheese slid off in rafts on certain bites. Crust was also lovely tasting, the cookery was great, it just needed to be thrown a tad larger to achieve a thinner rim. Jonny, call me when you throw your next thin plain pie. Pretty decent slice on the corner of Orchard Street and Stanton. The crust is thin but also just a little chewy (which i like. ) I felt the sauce had a bit of a spicy taste too (but not too much.) Also, you can ask them to grate fresh Parmesan on your slice at no extra cost. I think you can ask for a hot honey drizzle too , though i didn't get that . Unfortunately there are no seats in here so that's the only drawback. But it's probably the best slice in this immediate area if you happen to be nearby . Tasty pizza. read more

I was a bit disappointed with the pizza here. I heard great things and during every trip I take to New York ( a few times a year) I try a new pizza spot. I went here around 5pm and there were people in and out. They have a few small tables inside but really it's an eat quick and go kind of place. I opted for the pepperoni with burrata. The dough of the crust was stale and had an off taste. The burrata was really bad. It was a bit warm and melted and had a sour cream type of texture. The burrata added no value to the pizza either. Overall, a let down. For New York, it was a below average slice of pizza. Perhaps I caught them on an off day but the pizza wasn't very good. Even added red pepper flakes and oregano couldn't salvage the slice. read more

Wow wow wow! We thought we had finally tried most of NYC's best known slice spots, but then we saw Jonny's online and decided to give it a shot. We went one night after some drinks, it wasn't even incredibly late or anything but it was packed and rightfully so. The vibe inside was kind of young, not necessarily the staff, but the other patrons, so we were a bit nervous about the quality of the slice. I must say, the slices we had were fresh out of the oven, crust was crisp to perfection. Everything was so good. The sauce, the pepperoni. I typically don't even eat the crust, but here, we didn't leave anything in the box. They have little standing room only areas for you to have your slice. We had a vodka slice, a pepperoni vodka slice, then got the recommended pepperoni vodka pesto slice. Like I said, everything was fresh, pizza was hot but didn't burn our mouths, we just thoroughly enjoyed our slices right when we thought we had been to every worthwhile pizza spot in NYC. The lower east side isn't typically a place you would think of when it comes to good pizza, but Jonny's is it. They only have regular, pepperoni and vodka pep by the slice but the quality is excellent. A little pricy, but 100% worth it. My favorite is the vodka pep, Jonny's way (with freshly grated parm, hot honey and burrata.) I'm still dreaming of Jonny's Pizza since the day I got it! I got the white mushroom slice and the pepperoni, both the Jonny's way of course! Jonny's way includes hot honey and burrata, which was insanely delicious!! Even though this is in the LES and open late feeding plenty of drunk people pizza, make no mistake - the pizza here is super high quality and stands on its own. The fresh basil (emphasis on fresh bc it is so fragrant) and shavings of parmesan take it to the next level. The crust has a perfect crunch before giving way to a softer, chewier interior with a stretchy cheese (on my margherita) and that sweet, savory tomato sauce really comes through. The toppings to crust ratio is well portioned. It's giving every texture in an excellent ratio and flavors coming from every single component, nothing is missed. I really wanted to love this, but unfortunately it did not live up to the expectations I had and heard. I got a vodka and a white mushroom slice and both were dry and burnt on the bottom, which affected the taste. Neither felt fresh even though there were a ton of people both when I got there and when I left (cleared out in between). Such a bummer because both sounded so good! This may be one of my favorite dollar pizza places in NYC. I was introduced to this place after a yelp event but find myself coming here on a regular basis for more pizza. The line can be quite a bit large but I find myself coming here on Weekdays near opening time and on weekend afternoons and its not too bad at all. The pizzas are out of the heater within 5 minutes and when combined with hot honey is absolutely fantastic. Crispy and delicate crust. 2 slices can be filling. I want to try the added burrata at some point. There is plenty of sauce on the vodka and cheese pizzas, but the vodka with hot honey is my favorite slice in NYC. There are also mexican cokes in the fridge which are a unique and nice side to the pizzas. There is one small standing table where 4-5 people can gather around. There is also a small shelf by the window where people can line up to eat indoors. This pizza imo should be eaten fresh and doesn't hit the same when you wait too long. There is only one shaker for crushed peppers (and one shaker for some other other herbs), so keep that mind. It is slightly more expensive than a typical dollar nyc slice but will be coming back. The fresh grate of cheese before serving was also a nice touch. Menu was pretty straightforward; they don't have many options. They have a fridge filled with soda cans and water bottles. Nice young fellas serving the slices. Jonny is a lot younger than you would think. A Lakers fan from Los Angeles.
