A new pizza joint. Oh, the competition is heating up. Not your average slice. Thin with a crispy crunch. Uniquely flavorful. The cheese, the sauce, are all good. Nice clean dining area. No waiting My single slice was served with grated cheese and basil toppings. All very, very good. A nice addition to the neighborhood.

Impressive! For a brand new pizza joint in Tribeca, I am happy I stopped in here before somebody like Dave Portnoy, or the New York Times stops in and ruins it for the masses. Which is why I was happy when they told me they did not make a big deal when they opened. That is preferable. Let the word of mouth speak for itself. The two slices I ordered, the plain (New Yorker), and white (Pizza Bianca) have exceptional flavor, even if the price of two slices and a drink is $15 (what has this world come to?). I guess I should just suck it up, because it is not going to get any better. The white slice has a good garlic to cheese ratio. The globs of ricotta add a nice depth of flavor and the crust is a beautiful brown, with a nice chew to crispiness. The size of the slice is also appropriate as it is not too big nor too small. It is very appropriate for a lunch or a midday snack, if you want to look like Tony Manero in Manhattan. Their plain slice, also known as, "The New Yorker", is solid but definitely not going to blow your mind. The sauce is a beautiful red color that is not too sweet but has a nice boldness to it. It is not an overly salty slice, and the cheese is not overwhelmingly powerful, rather it makes it quite aromatic. The greens on the slice add a nice touch, à la L'Industrie Pizza in Williamsburg. It seems that is the model they are going after, except this pizzeria has a long way to go to be like them. I also appreciate the high level of customer service. The attractive cashier was friendly and seemed genuinely interested in seeing customers enjoying the food. She was also working hard in all aspects. Never once did I see her lollygagging on her cellphone or goofing off. I advised them to stick with making only pizza and not experiment with anything else, like sandwiches and pasta. Calzones are fine, but that is it. Inside there are two arcade games that make for an interesting experience, Ace Pizza style. Overall I wish them plenty of success and will be a returning customer, so as long as the product continues to strive for bigger and better. Thank you for the experience. Overall pizza rating: 3.8/5

I came here on a Monday night for a tomato slice. The crust and sauce were both good. There are a few arcade games inside, too!

They sat us upstairs along the balcony overlooking the main dining room, and the decor... honestly, just look at the photo because I don't even know how to describe it The space used to be a church, and it is SO cool inside. Definitely not your average pizza joint. This place is popular -- there were plenty of people eating -- but surprisingly, our wait wasn't long at all. And even with all the bodies in there, it never felt crammed or uncomfortable. We ordered a small pizza and did half Shrimp Fra Diavolo and half Margherita. The Fra Diavolo had a little kick, but nothing crazy -- and this is coming from someone who cannot handle big spice The Margherita had just the right amount of basil and mozzarella, and that crispy crust was exactly what I wanted. Although there was no major cheese pull, it was still perfect. The small was plenty for the two of us and honestly just perfect. We also had a couple cocktails, which were delicious too. I always say NYC food pricing is kind of deceiving. You look at the price and go, "Ummm..." but then the food comes out and you realize they give you A LOT. Definitely felt like we got our money's worth here. Great pizza, really cool atmosphere, and a fun first NYC pizza experience for the husband. Happy Eating, Chass

Bustling doesn't seem to fit, it was packed to the gills. John's is extremely spacious, and even with that much space, we had a substantial wait. The wait was worth it though because they know how to do pizza. The crust just crisp enough, the sauce flavorful, and the toppings plentiful. The service was friendly and quick given the number of people there. For my first trip to NYC, I'd make this a traditional stop for future visits.

Last year, I was at Nothing Really Matters, the bar next door, with a group of friends. Someone ordered pizza, and I had no idea where it came from. I just remember thinking, "Wow, this pizza is really good." That memory stuck with me, so when a friend and I decided to stop by See No Evil Pizza yesterday, I was excited to finally visit. I didn't realize reservations were recommended, but thankfully Ariel, the host, was able to fit us in. Ariel was fantastic - he was friendly, welcoming, and so accommodating despite us showing up without a reservation. Ariel provided excellent service from the moment we walked in until we left. I didn't take any photos, which I now regret, because their pepperoni pizza was salty, addictive, and just really, really good. The pepperoni was crisp, the crust had that perfect char and crunch, and I couldn't stop reaching for another slice. The restaurant is small, cozy, and inviting. If you've been thinking about checking this place out, go for it. You won't regret it.

It is such a cute place that deeply honors its heritage and ancestry, and their understanding of celiac disease immediately put us at ease. To drink, I ordered an Aperol Spritz, though you will want to double-check with the staff since a few of their other cocktails are not gluten-free. We kicked off our meal with the gluten-free arancini and a gluten-free Margherita pizza, and the pizza was genuinely delicious. They even offer gluten-free desserts, so we naturally went all-in on the fried dough with Nutella to finish things off. Aside from the incredible food safety and quality, the service and staff were fantastic. They were constantly attentive, clearing empty plates and bringing new ones throughout the meal. We started with two fabulous drinks: An Espresso Martini and their signature Limoncello Margarita. We shared the Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad and it was fabulous. The bits of bacon, combined with the spiciness of the pepper spices, made this a perfect starter. The entree was also shared and it was the Spicoli 2.0 Pizza. I cannot recommend this pie, enough. You will taste flavors that you've probably never experienced before with a pizza. Also, the different textures of the arugula, creaminess of the cheese, and the perfect crust will make it a memorable selection. For dessert, we shared the Buttermilk Panna Cotta. Each spoonful of those strawberries, dancing with the firm custard and glaze, made this a stupendous cap to the meal.

RIGHT BY THE DOOR. Do people not realize that putting a bar near a door on a freezing cold night benefits no one? Good thing I did not order alcohol or I would have froze to death. Seriously, none of the pies stood out in grand memory. All I can think of is, well, nothing. Nothing positive anyway. The names of the pies are funny, and the staff is friendly, but besides that, the quality of the food for lack of a better word, dare I say it, sucks. Hoping to salvage the meal, I ordered their Chicken Parmesan. It was the Hail Mary pass that unfortunately did not connect. The cutlets are overcooked and dry, and the red sauce cooked with it has minimal tomato flavor. At least the spaghetti is cooked to a nice al dente and mellow garlic butter flavor, but like the sauce cooked in, it is also minimal. Part of the problem I feel is they are trying to go for a vibe that has a New York and modern feel. It does not work. Stay true to one or the other. Or at least look at other business models. I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. It does this by not beating you over the head with hipster vibes, just enough to let you know that you are in Bushwick. The band Franz Ferdinand was playing as I was wrapping up. Rather than take the pizza out, I suggest you throw it out. Overall pizza rating: 1.7/5

The first thing you notice is the main bar wall, with its exposed centuries-old brick that has survived every bit of chaos this city could throw at it. It's subtly backlit from with a warm, amber glow that highlights every single historic groove and imperfection, making the whole room look like it's breathing. I have to say the centerpiece of the entire narrow room is the bar itself, and let me tell you, it is an absolute stunner of a contrast. Instead of the usual dark, sticky tavern wood, they've dropped in a long, continuous slab of pristine, elegantly smooth white stone. It glows under the soft lighting like a block of polished marble. There are no strobe lights and no obnoxious, skull-rattling bass in this joint. Instead, the room is wrapped in a blanket of incredibly chill music that matches the pulse of the room perfectly. It's just loud enough to drown out the noise in your own head, but quiet enough that you don't have to scream over the smooth white counter to be heard. People aren't here to be seen on TikTok; they're here to disappear for an hour or three. You slide into a chair, order a proper Old Fashioned from a bartender who doesn't rush the pour, and watch the ice melt against the amber-lit brick. It's the ultimate underground exhale--a perfect, narrow slice of peace in a city that never shuts up. Cheers!
