Wanted an evening snack and saw some reviews on this place. So, naturally we had to try it. We ordered the zizzona pizza (basically like a margherita pizze with buffalo mozzarella ball in the middle) and "the pasta of the day" (linguine with tomato sauce). Both were pretty good but, there wasn't anything special about the pasta. Both portions were huge! Then again, they are more known for their pizzas. Service was good and the restaurant was spacious. Fantastic, affordable pizza served in a lovely, no-frills establishment a few blocks away from the Spanish Steps! I visited Pizza Re for a casual dinner after seeing it on a list of good budget-friendly eats in Rome, and they absolutely delivered on that promise. My friend and I split a mushroom pizza and salad, and both were fantastic. The salad was super fresh and simple -- everything you want in a good starter salad. The pizza was outstanding; the dough was perfectly thin and just slightly chewy, with a great crispy and charred exterior. The ends of the slices were nice and fluffy, and each piece had the perfect ratio of dough, sauce, and cheese. The sauce was super fresh and savory, with tangy, sweet, and herby undertones. I do wish that they had a few more mushrooms, as there were several slices that didn't get any, but it was an incredible meal. It's a pretty popular spot so it can get pretty crowded, but the staff does an outstanding job juggling all the tables. 1.5 days in Rome and we've already eaten here twice. The wait staff is friendly but they don't hover over you. The food prices are reasonable and the food comes fast. The house white wine was solid and costs just slightly more than a Coke. We've had the pizzas and the dough was thin and the crust had just the right amount of bounce. The pizza was decent enough here. Prices are very inexpensive. I enjoyed the fresh buffalo mozzarella caprese salad. The background noise was extremely loud so not a great place for a relaxing meal. It's a great place if you are a parent traveling with loud children. They will enjoy being able to vocalize. The servers did not bother to check how your meal is going but they certainly are on top of you for a tip. Service was slow to to start. I have never had a restaurant make us feel so unwanted. After 15 hours of traveling we needed some food. It was approaching eleven o'clock and most places were closed. Pizza Ré was supposedly open till midnight. The moment we walked in the door at 11 the manager looks at his watch, no hello, no good evening, no how are you. They seat us with some menus and just forgot about us. There were 5 of us and 4 wanted to leave but because of the time, I knew we were running out of options. When the waiter finally came to our table, he said what do you want, tell me now, quickly. No water was offered and no drink order was asked. This may be a language thing but I could tell these guys wanted to close up. We ordered a couple pizzas and calzones, they came out quickly and the food was fantastic, we were starving and some saltine crackers would have been a delicious meal at that point. We ate and we're out the door by 11:35, we weren't even the last ones to leave. This place has amazing pizza and the staff is so friendly ...my daughter got the Margherita and I got the Salsiccia (pictured). The crust is very traditional and cooked so that it is crisp but still soft inside. The tiramisu was also very fresh, served in a jar. I went twice in 3 days. The first time the food was great and the service/acknowledgement was okay. So we went back again for the food. Never got to try it as the service/acknowledgement for even being there was non-existent. Walked in and they seated us immediately. That's where it ended. More than 10 minutes later after others came in, got seated, and had their orders taken we got up and walked out. As a side note, the other tables were sitting right by us. Fail! Not sure that I would risk going back again as there are such great restaurants in Rome that have both great food and great service. Best pizza I had in Rome, hands down! Very reasonably priced for Rome as well. They have a large outdoor seating area as well as a large one inside. Our waiter was amazing. A bug actually flew into my wine and I asked for a spoon to fish it out and he took my glass, which was pretty much empty and said "no no, we will get you a fresh one" and brought a fresh one at no charge. PizzaRé is a very well recommended Pizza establishment in Rome. Inside you'll find well made pies that have a large number of toppings and styles including White and Red pies. I'm a fan of red pies and have a particular soft spot for tomato pies, or pizzas without cheese. We had both a red pie and a white pie (pictured). Both pizzas were well made and tasty. Neither were the best I had on my trip nor were better than Pizza I had in the US. Unlike a lot of US Pizza of this style, salt was used with reserve. This is a good thing as I find many Pizzas far too salty in the US, especially once meat products or olives are added. If you are hoping that this will be a revelatory Pizza moment for you, you may be disappointed unless you're mostly exposed to chain pizza. Does that mean you should avoid PizzaRe? Absolutely not. The food was delicious and well priced, and there is room at the establishment for large parties. If anything you should come to see what the locals eat since that's far more better than filing into whatever tourist trap your hotel concierge suggests. read more

The pizza is AMAZING! I would say they are personal sized, but we ordered 3 for four people. Here you can see the margarita, calzone, and, my personal favorite, zucchini salmon. My only issue is that we walked in at 8:30 pm, were seated and put orders in by 8:40,but didn't receive our food until 9:30. However the food was definitely worth the wait! This definitely seems like a local favorite since everyone in the restaurant, except for my family, was Italian. We were lucky the waiter spoke English! Highly recommend this place. I ordered the Salmon creme pizza and even though I loved that combination, it wasn't something I was crazy for. There wasn't much salmon and the cream too solid. BF and I shared a calzone and mixed green salad. The calzone was good size, very cheesy, and the crust was soft. But overall it lacked flavor. Not a calzone to die for or something I would come back for. I would give the calzone 3 stars. If I do give it a second chance I would definitely try something different. The mixed green salad did not come with your typical "American" dressing but did come with a lemon wedge and olive oil that we got to toss our salad with. A perfect late night bite. We got three pizzas for take away and it fed six of us pretty much perfectly before bed after a long day of travel. The funghi and the spicy salami are both solid options, though the spicy salami isn't the most convenient to eat/share because the salami slices are way too big for the pizza. Pizza Ré is a wonderful napoliana pizza ristorante in Rome centro. If you want a taste of authentic Neapolitan pizza, without having a chance to go to Napoli, this is the place for you! I love the wood fired char of the crust and how the toppings of cheese, oil, mushrooms and tomato sauce provide texture in a few soggy bites. The flavors are fresh and filling. 18000 steps. That's how much walking I did on one particular day in Rome. And this was only by 4pm. AND, half of those steps I was carrying a sleeping 4-year-old. Because of that, the last thing I wanted to do was walk to another place for dinner. In steps Pizza Re. They were just downstairs of our apartment, and maybe 75 more feet down the street. First, the menu selection is pretty big. Lots of different pizzas, entrees, and salads. Also to note, and this is with many other restaurants, is that it's cheaper if you get it "to-go." I estimate around 2-3 Euros cheaper, per pizza. The menu posted on the outside is for dining inside, however, the menu posted on the inside is for takeout. We got 4 pizzas (2 Margherita Pizzas, a Quattri Formaggi, and 1 Sausage and Potato) and a Caprese Salad. The pizzas are a little bit bigger than they Neapolitan-style pizzas we get back in the Bay Area. But, they are much better. The crust is what really stood out. The crust was perfectly crunchy and chewy at the same time (if that's even possible). The sauce was nice and tangy (albeit, a tad salty) and the cheese seemed to taste really fresh. As for the Caprese Salad, it was just as good as the rest of the meal. It was hard to find bad Caprese salad in Italy, and this one certainly didn't fit the bill. While they didn't speak a whole lot of English, they spoke enough to help me order my food. Also, they were very friendly. Since I threw my coin in Trevi Fountain, I guess I'll be back to Rome someday. And, when I do, I won't hesitate to come back here, if I want some pizza. read more

With its wood fired oven and hand made Pizzas. Pizza Re' truly is king. Sauces are flavorfull, cheese and meats are all excellent quality. The crust was perfectly done on all of our pizzas. Diavolina was the perfect combination of a slightly sweet tomato sauce and the spicy salami. Montanara had copious amounts of thinly sliced procuitto, chunks of artichokes and the mozzarella was so fresh and perfectly melted. I like a little kick so I added done spicy pepper flakes. Now where's my pizza??? First night in Rome, and some yummy pizza is all i'm craving. I did a quick Yelp search for something walking distance from the hotel, and I came across Pizza Re. The reviews were pretty high, and a lot of people seemed to have a good opinion of the place, so I thought why not? The restaurant is close to Via Corso and just about a block away. It's in a really great location that's away from the super touristy places making not a tourist trap (there are a lot of those Italy!) The restaurant is pretty big, and we were seated in the back of the restaurant as it was quite busy. The waiter was so kind to help us with reading the menu as my Italian knowledge is absolutely 0, but I could get a gauge of what certain pizzas were from having studied both French and Spanish. We opted for 2 pizzas: a white and a red as well as a seafood pasta (pictures attached). After this trip, I realized that I enjoy white (blancha) pizzas very much! I believe the one we ordered had mozarella, rocket, and mushroom. Although it was quite simple, the flavors were quite bold and very flavorful. The seafood pasta is definitely very good too! They have fresh lobster and the noodles are cooked just right. We also ordered a bottle of wine because it was 12 Euros as opposed to 5 euros a glass (again, ordering alcohol by the bottle is always cheaper). The meal wouldn't be complete without finishing off with something sweet and so I got a tiramisu. To be honest, I wasn't blown away by it at all - it was soft and yummy but i've had better (in the US). Maybe I've been eating it wrong but I went to another place in Rome (Pompi) and that knocked my socks off - so good! read more

Crust was similar to Costco pizza, which is not bad, just surprisingly similar to Costco. I don't know how the reviews are so strong for this spot. read more
