    Bucatini all'amatriciana

Visited last time we were in Rome and had amazing food. This time, the service was painfully slow. Food was bland, lacking any flavor. I had the Bucatini all'amatriciana, which presented nice, but could have used a touch more salt. My son had swordfish and grilled eggplant. Fish was not good and the eggplant lacked any seasoning and had some cold spots. Not sure I would go back.

Excellent spot for after the Vatican! Run by a nice family and the food was great! Plus they have AC.

A nice little place, close to St Peter's. The decor is pretty cool inside with all the items hanging from the ceiling. Our server wasn't that friendly. He hardly spoke, and as a result, wasn't the best experience. The food was fine, my lasagne tasted pretty good. The vanilla cake we had was really tasty. Prices are on the high side here, and not really worth it.

4.5 stars! Outside the holy St Peter's Basilica is Perdincibacco, a restaurant with a nice selection of medium priced wines, traditional Italian dishes, and very welcoming flavor. So many things I like about the restaurant---aesthetic is nice, menu is well organized, and the wine menu was super cute. As for the food, I enjoyed everything! Rigatoni was light and cheesy, lasagna was soft with excellent stretchy cheese and not too many extra layers, and the lamb had a good medium temperature and moderate seasoning. I will say that the bread was cold and mediocre, and the lamb meat cut was not the best (lots of tendons and bones) Draft beer was crisp and light, but many wines were overpriced. Still tasty though overall. Dessert was nice, and a good cap to a delicious night of food.

Why 5 stars? Because we came here on a whim but really ended up enjoying it. --- --- --- Full disclosure: we intended to eat at a pizzeria a few doors down, but it was closed for May Day. I was pretty bummed because the reviews and photos looked amazing, but we were starving and Perdincibacco didn't look like a bad consolation prize. We'd been in Italy for a few days at this point and my wife kept talking about how badly she wanted pasta carbonara. We hadn't seen it on a menu yet, but it was her favorite food memory from a visit to Italy more than a decade earlier. When she saw it here, she knew her decision was made. Because I'd already been in the mood for pizza, that's what I went with. As for the carbonara, this was about as satisfied with a meal that I've ever seen my wife. It absolutely hit the spot for her, and I understood why - I tasted some myself and it was perfection! My pizza was razor thin - the thinnest I had in Italy, which is hard to do, but it was delicious! The meal ended up being pretty inexpensive too, which was great because we were eating out for every meal and the saved cash came in handy. If you're visiting St. Peter's Basilica, this is a great spot to grab food nearby - it's only a couple of blocks. It ended up being an amazing back-up plan for us!

If you happen to be in the area around the Vatican and are looking for a delicious and (relatively) inexpensive meal, you need to check out Perdincibacco. After a 3 hour walking tour of the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel and St Peters, we were exhausted, hot and starving. This restaurant is less than 5 minutes walk from the front of St Peters, which was literally about all we could manage. We were greeted with a friendly "buongiorno" and seated immediately. The dining room is small but the seats are comfortable and the decor is fun with laundry hanging from the ceiling and chalkboard menus on the wall (they also give printed menus). The waiter was quick and friendly and service was all around excellent in every respect. We chose the penne arrabiatta, the spaghetti caccio e pepe and a pizza, with fresh buffalo mozzarella caprese as a starter. I also decided to have a glass of one of the featured wines - a Lambrusco, which was a deal at 5 euros. The waiter brought us a large pitcher of ice cold water and the wine at the same time. This was followed quickly by the caprese and then the main courses were brought out about 10 minutes later. Portions are a good size, we had some leftover pizza and if we had a fridge to put it in would have taken it to finish. Everything was freshly prepared, well sauced and delicious. Highly recommend and if we are in the area we will definitely be back!

Diavola pizza loved it. The Dutch beer was very good.

Most delicious pizzas. Love the sweet white wine. My partner ordered Dutch beer. I am not a beer drinker but that beer was not bitter.waiter was very helpful and spoke English

This was simply, absolutely delicious! We were starving after walking the Vatican museum and St. Peter for a few hours and we were the first for dinner service (I believe they open at 6). Service was fast and attentive, menu is in Italian and English, the place is very cool, a few tables but bigger than most of the restaurants we've seen, they also have a nice outdoor seating but it's March 1st so we went inside. We had the beef carpaccio as appetizer and then ordered the rigatoni with beef ragu and the linguini with pesto, shrimp and dried tomatoes. Also half a bottle of the house red. Everything was superb! Fresh, very delicate flavours, good size portions, so glad we chose this place. Our bill came down to €43.50 for one appetizer, two entrees and 0.5 l of wine... they charge for water and bread as stated in the menu.

We stopped here after visiting the Vatican City. We ordered pizza and pasta and were not disappointed. The pizza crust is light and crispy. The 4 cheese penne was more than delicious. The service was great and this was a solid 5*.

It appears to be out of business. We looked all over couldn't find it so asked at a nearby business and that is what we were told.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. In fact, they made a mistake and we kindly let them know we ordered something else- they corrected it and were nice about it.

So happy we did as this place definitely delivers. There is seriously like 8 tables in the dining room so expect a wait in line but trust me, it's worth it. We waited outside for about 25 minutes. They do take your order while in line so the wait for food (once you do get a table) is abbreviated. Out of the world pastas and the pistachio tiramisu is seriously out of this world. Inexpensive table wine rounds out a great meal. This is the type of place I love to go to. It's quaint, zero pretense and delivers on its food. A great find!
