I'll have to try the outside tables sometime
Jennifer B.

Why, oh why, did I wait so long to come back?! It was time for another delicious piece of the rock. (Those of us of a certain age are now humming the old Prudential Insurance commercial) Admittedly, it's been a couple years since we've been here. They've painted outside and in, but it's still cozy and has the "local favorite feeling"... and we somehow ended up in the same booth. It was a Thursday afternoon, between lunch and dinner, so it wasn't busy. The plan was simple: thin crust pepperoni and that amazing Marty's salad. It's heavenly-and huge!!! (I wish I could say I had leftovers for days, but I couldn't leave it alone once I got home!) I really enjoy this place: service is personable and prompt, the food is excellent, everything is so clean, casual and welcoming inside. I need to become a regular. It's conveniently located near Brandon hospital, with a parking lot right out front. Somehow, we've always been here at "off" times of day-but I'll bet it's super busy on weekend nights. It should be! This place is gooood. Hope to see you there!

THe Butcher Pizza

If you're looking for legit wood-fired pizza in Brandon, Pizza Rock is absolutely worth a stop. I ordered The Butcher's Pizza and the first thing that stood out was the crust--crispy on the bottom, chewy in the right way, and cooked perfectly. They're using a New York-built wood-fired oven with a rotating turntable, so the pizza is constantly moving while it cooks, and you can taste the difference. The cheese melts evenly, the edges get that beautiful fire-kissed char, and the whole pie has that true fire-roasted flavor. The experience inside was just as good as the food. The restaurant is extremely clean, there's a ton of space (great for families or groups), and the staff was super friendly. They took time to talk with me and shared the Brandon location opened in 2018, and that they had to complete special training/certifications to even qualify to buy and operate that oven. You can tell it's a family-run business with real pride and passion behind what they're doing. Even the pizza box is a cool touch--nice branding and attention to detail. Only small critique: I just wish The Butcher's Pizza had a little more topping coverage. Flavor was great just could've used a bit more "loaded" factor for a butcher-style pie. Overall: solid pizza, amazing crust, great people, and a clean, welcoming spot. I'll definitely be back.

Garlic bread with hardly any cheese! Ripoff!

Pizza had a nice crispy crust but too much spicy pepperoni and not enough cheese. The garlic bread was on a good chewy bun it was too garlicy and they hardly buy any cheese on top (see picture). These guys cut corners with the lack of cheese. Not nice for paying premium prices for their items.

Pizza Arugula Bianca

Looking for pizzerias in the Brandon area, we wanted to try something new, and the reviews convinced us to give this place a shot. We don't regret it! We ordered the Arugula Bianca pizza, and it was delicious: thin, crispy crust with a flavor just as we had imagined. We opted for takeout, and both the process and the service were excellent. We also tried the cheesy bread... wow, wow, wow! It was amazing. We'll definitely be coming back for more!

Dry rub wings Wood Fired and Flash Fried Wings

We had met some friends to watch the Christmas parade downtown Tampa and were considering getting pizza down there but wanted to include the fiancée of the friend who was working in Brandon so we looked for someplace new in the area to try. We landed on Pizza Rock and were blown away by the food and service. We tried a few appetizers (wings/meatballs/garlic cheesy bread/mozzarella sticks) and both groups each got a pizza. Everything we got was delicious and the waitress was attentive and quick. It was so good that we have ordered take out since the visit and even bought a pizza to take to family to try. This will definitely become a go to spot for our family! The ambiance was a little dark but comfortable and welcoming - music theme around the restaurant and typically seating for a pizza place

Great pizza and service! Very chill place, good with or without the kids. Enjoyed the Fig and the Pig and even the Detroit style pizza.

Do they use fresh mushrooms because I can't tolerate canned mushrooms on a pizza?

It's been several years since our last visit, but it's still a good pizza! With a walk up window,…read morethe ambiance is what you bring lol. Service was quick and easy but I strongly suggest not ordering online or thru the "order" option in Yelp, as the pizza price showed $35 instead of over the phone ordering at $25 for the same exact pizza/size. What we appreciated from this pizza was its nice overall crust, good sized/not too thick dough presence, and quality of the sauce / toppings. We got the Buc Slammer XL for $25. What we found is that the sauce was awesome, though a tad on the light side. Wish they would have put more as it's so flavorful with a little bit of kick to really come through. The sausage topping was delicious, and they did keep to their word with the extra cheese on this pizza. I do think since it had extra cheese and was so thick, it could have baked a couple more minutes to completely melt down but it was still pretty good. While the pepperoni and ham didn't shine at all, overall the pizza was elevated and had a 'real' pizza presence. So many times we've gotten pizza at different places only for it to flop or lack. This one didn't, pretty good presence. It was oily, but that's always the case with any meat pizza that have oily meats... goes with the territory and gets the napkin dab like any other meaty pizza. We are giving this a 4.6 stars, and wish we could have given it a full 5 stars but 2 of the toppings were so plain it hardly came through. So to answer the magic question, yes we'll be coming back to try another pizza variation... and maybe a couple of their other Italian menu offerings. Wondering if they use that same delicious sauce ;)
