I had a gift card for Pizza Ranch, so I decided to share it with my mother, and we bought chicken from the Elkhorn location. A few days before that, I stopped in to get a take-out menu. The prices were totally wrong. We were charged quite a lot more for our order than what the menu said. The menu said $7.99 and we were charged $9.99. If the prices were not correct they should tell people that when they pick up a menu. I don't mind paying $10 for good food, and the chicken itself was good. However, the amount of coleslaw you get is about 4 bites for a woman, probably 2 bites (if even) for men, the biscuits were way over cooked, they were very dark and pretty crunchy. We both ordered a 2 piece chicken dinner, and I got a pretty good sized breast and a tiny wing, so technically my dinner was a 1 piece. I actually took a picture of it because I couldn't believe it, as well as a picture of the dark biscuit. It was our first time eating there, and we've decided it's out last. We'll go to KFC for chicken next time. read more

This is probably the one of the worst experience at a buffet that I've ever had. There was only one employee visible there was tons of leftover food on the ground by the tables and by the buffet area. Lastly to mention that there was hardly no food on the buffet table. This may be the best pizza buffet I've had. Right away when we paid to begin the festivities, the cashier asked whether we wanted any custom pizzas made, and walked us through some of the choices. We requested two, a vegetarian pizza and roma spinach pie. He told us the person who requested the custom round would get as much as they want from it at the table, and then what's left is added to the buffet. Those pizzas did take about 15-20 minutes before they were ready. Before then I had one slice of cheese, that was quite good, and one slice of taco, and one piece of cheese breadstick that was quite garlicky and very tasty! I also had a small salad, some of the home-made potato chips that were also great, and some more of the chips and cheese bread sticks. Also be sure to try the "cactus" desert pizza, which is outstanding. It's basically crunchy cinnamon and is so popular it caused a line of people to gather, and one lady with several pieces to say "these are for my children and grandchildren - really!" I also appreciate the wide range of soda and tea choices, and even coffee if people wanted that. Altogether, the options are extensive, and almost everything I had was top notch. The one exception was the salad bar. I like that they don't have the cheap, low-quality iceberg lettuce. The salad with mandarin oranges in it was good, and to that I added half-grape tomatoes and peas and bacon bits and a few other things, I think. I had lime vinaigrette, and it was a little sour, which may be obvious. I didn't care for it much. I did not see the standard (for me) ranch dressing. I think if I had ranch dressing and if they had sunflower seeds, which I didn't see, I would have enjoyed the salad bar, too. It was OK. Just not, for me, outstanding, as everything else was. We were there for over six hours for a birthday party so I observed a lot. First off, the room we rented was so dirty. We had to wipe down all the tables and chairs ourselves. There was also a lot of leftover food on the floor. The customer service was not good at all, not even from the manager. The food was alright but nothing spectacular. The only thing I did like was that they had Christian music playing. read more

We came upon this place late this evening looking for an inexpensive yet decent place to have dinner. Immediately I was impressed since we showed up 15 minutes before closing, the manager was still happy to have us. They close at 9 PM on Saturday and at 9:15 were still taking fresh pizzas out of the oven. Having a 4 year old could be a waste of money.... But here they only charge .80 for every year so we paid $3.20 for her, super Great deal. Every thing we tried was fresh and tasted great. We will definitely be back!! read more

Everytime I go I'm pretty disappointed with the food. They have some great staff members and some terrible staff members. I wish they had someone patrolling the buffet. This is definitely one of the best pizza buffets I've ever had. I've never done the custom pizzas, but my coworkers have (agree with the other reviews, 15-20 minutes to get it but then you get first dibbs on the pizza). I usually get the cheese pizza or preferably just the cheesy breadsticks (super good!). Finish it off with the cactus dessert pizza or the blueberry/cherry(or is it strawberry) dessert pizza. Horribly disappointing. I ordered $170.00 worth of food online for carry out for the nursing home I work at for lunch for the residents. I arrived a few minutes before my pick up time, and initially they told me it would be a few minutes, that our food wasn't quite done. I understood. I then proceeded to wait for the next HOUR!!!!! That's right an hour! And the food came out piece by piece, not all at once. Needless to say most of he residents food was cold and lunch was over by the time I returned back to the facility. I asked numerous times to speak to the manager who refused to come out, and hid in the back. I filed a complaint with corporate to which I still have not received a response a week later. This was a place that as a facility we used frequently. Not anymore. The lack of communication, or ability to apologize is unacceptable. read more

I am a stickler when it comes to Pizza buffets- I like my pizza fresh and I like to request weird toppings on my pizzas. Pizza Ranch delivers on both of those! I love how they bring you your requested pizza and give you however much you want. The cheesy breadsticks are also phenomenal (and by phenomenal I mean greasy goodness). If you love dessert pizza, I STRONGLY recommend the cactus bread- I prefer the cherry or blueberry with a little soft-serve on top. It melts over the warm cactus bread and is awesome! It's a 45 minute drive to this Pizza ranch for me and I go because I crave it so much on a regular basis. That's how good it is! read more

Difficult to decide which is worse. Bounced in after hiking 5 miles in the kettle moraine and it really exceeded our expectations. Kids were hungry and really liked the pizza. Salad bar was pretty good. Chicken was tasty, especially the hot wing style. Good clean fresh buffet fare. Even the Mac n cheese wasn't heat lamp dried n scary. Plus the batter fried cod Was tasty! This will sound crazy - I love the Pizza Ranch but I don't eat pizza - I love the salad and soup bar and really love the chicken, broasted potatoes, homemade chips and mashed potatoes and gravy. Including all you can drink beverages and soft serve ice cream, there's no better bargain in the county. Ten bucks at dinner including tax gets you all you can eat including the salad and soup bar, pizza, chicken, beverages and soft-serve ice cream. Did I mention the chicken was good?! read more

I enjoy the food and most of the time the plates are not sitting to long. The reason why is Pizza Ranch does not get a 5 Star is due to the buffets being too expensive for children, there seems to be a lack of food prepared for the buffets and there should be very special deals like free meals or half prices for Father's of Mother's Day. read more

I visit my in-laws and this Pizza Ranch is next to the hotel I usually stay at. I usually go to a Pizza Ranch just for the pizza (and mashed potatoes) so I can't comment on the chicken. On my last visit, none of the pizza seem fresh. The cheese was hard like it had been sitting around for a while after baking. The temperature was lukewarm at best. We went at 7pm on a Saturday. The place was packed, which is usually good at most buffets as the food goes faster and gets replaced more often. It still was lukewarm pizza. The seating accommodations were lacking (not just because it was busy). We had 5 people and an infant and couldn't find a table. Most of the tables only sit 4 people and they are packed in so it felt tight. We got lucky and met someone a person in my party knew. He offered his table and we were able to slide it next to another (hard to do in a cramped floorspace). Overall it was okay, but I would return mostly because of the convenience rather than the quality. read more

It took 10 minutes for someome to come out of the back to acknowledge we were there. Once we were ready to order, we had to look around to find someone to take our order. The guy came out and asked if we wanted our pizzas in a box so we could leave, we had a long day, we just wanted to sit and enjoy. A few minutes after we got our pizza, an employee brings out the vacuum cleaner and vacuums right next to our table, it was so dang loud and annoying. Ice box floors dirty did I say ice box I had to leave my family too cold sitting out in car to warm up. Saturday night confused when servers came to our table after a refilling salad bar were we done with salad bar. Why would one ask that after filling it up. Plus we were three families and another man was shaking cause he was too cold. Then that family ran to their SUV to start it I mean ran. Not certain but this is not how we do this in Roscoe. Buffet lines are dirty----apparently no one has the job of cleaning up for the people who overstack their plates with food---especially salad dressing. I know that Wisconsin is renowned for obesity, but this place must be the mecca for overweight people. I liked the chicken, but the pizza was obviously not really made on site... frozen dough? If you go during a time when there is not too many people, the place is great. Food is always great for a decent price. But if you go during a busy time, like during regular lunch time (12-1pm), they will run out of food. When we initially got there, there was no pizza left. Then when they did put a pizza or 2 out, it was a scramble for someone to get a piece and it was gone in 5 minutes. They should be more prepared for a lunch rush and have more pizzas ready.
