A lovely and very authentic Supper Club with an old time atmosphere and heartland local charm. When you're in Wisconsin it's the Supper Club you need to find to enjoy delicious food. The Duck Inn in Delavan WI. will fill the "bill" (pun intended lol). I didn't order any of the many different kinds of Duck Inn menu items because I was told in advance to get the Prime Rib. But first I had to quench my thirst with the famous Wisconsin Brandy (not bourbon) Old Fashion. Brandy, some simple syrup, bitters, cherry and orange and just a touch of lemon/lime soda. And the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp was amazing. Sorry no pic on these. They went too fast. A beautiful fresh and very crisp salad preceded the main course. I heard about the portion sizes of their beef so I went with the smallest size they had. When it came to the table I told the server, " I think you gave me the large size". Nope this is the small. It was crazy huge. So stop eating the salad, put the loaded potato on the side because it's gonna take every inch in my stomach to finish this half of a cow! lol Well after almost all of it was gone, a cup of freshly brewed coffee and a table shared dessert was next. Home made ice cream with blended Cream De Menthe and Cream De Cacao piled high with more Cream de Menthe drizzled over the top for good measure. A heavenly experience indeed. Very disappointing experience across the board. It's a shame because this place used to be great. Starting off, we had a large party of 7. I made the reservation over 30 days in advance. We arrive right on time and the host stand "can't find" our reservation. I had to show them my reservation text confirmation & my email confirmation (super welcoming vibe!). So we had to wait 10 mins for them to put a table together. Then we sit down and then wait ANOTHER 20 minutes for a server to approach us (this was after we chased down two employees to ask if we even had a server). By now we've been at this restaurant for over 30 minutes and no one in our party has even been able to place a drink order. Next the prime rib. At this price point, you expect quality, but again everyone was disappointed. Tough, nearly impossible to cut and no flavor. Both potatoes (baked and mashed) were terrible too. Baked potatoes ice cold and dried from over-baking. Mashed were so overpowered by garlic, it was almost unpalatable. How could a supper club not have a decent potato recipe? Overall I was very embarrassed that I had invited my friends to this restaurant, as it was such a subpar and expensive meal. Very cheesy and bready. The drinks were delicious. My prime rib almost as good as mine lol. The waitress was pleasant and patient with a person who had no clue on what to get. Friendly greeting at reception desk. Great and skillful bartender (Michael) who could handle multiple orders and still maintain a nice conversation with customers. That is actually very important to our first impression at a supper club. But then we sat down to eat.....I had two things ready to order when our waitress came to our table. Lamb chops. Sorry, we're out. Okay then, scallops. Sorry, we're out of that as well. Against my better judgment, I went with another favorite which is ribeye. What a disappointment. It was not a true marbled, juicy, seared with a red center at medium rare piece of ribeye. At best it might have been a sirloin steak, dry, tough, not a speck of marbling fat which is why I love this cut. A drizzle of au jus on the plate was immediately absorbed by the sheer dryness of this steak. Took it home but couldn't even salvage it for leftovers. My husband had Hungarian Duck which he reviewed as good. Stuffed mushrooms were a nice start, as well as tasty spinach salads, so all was not lost on this meal. Our server was good, but we were nestled between two large groups of twelve and eight so the volume was energetic. First time there and was really looking forward to it. Arrived early for Wed Prime Rib night. They had no medium rare or rare prime rib. How is that possible for early evening? So I ordered the lamb chops. They were out of the lamb chops. They were out of multiple other entrees. They were out of mashed potatoes. The French onion soup was burnt. Who burns soup? The scallops were not cooked thoroughly. All of the other food was only average. Very disappointed. Ive never given a restaurant less than 3 stars, but this was a very disappointing meal. A lovely supper club with an old time atmosphere and cool duck decorations. The bar is especially unique - ask to be seated in this area when making a reservation otherwise there is a wait. We were therefore seated in the dining room area and enjoyed the complementary crackers and cheese dip. I enjoyed my glass of Cabernet Sauvignon with my meal. I ordered the combo meal and chose duck and scallops- the duck was tasty though I didn't love the mushroom sauce. It came with some rice, and the scallops came with tasty snap peas as well. The scallops though were small. I also enjoyed some of my boyfriend's prime rib (Saturday night special), though I didn't know and like that we had to pay extra for horseradish that didn't come out until the end of the meal. Otherwise, the portions here are great as it comes with a soup or salad and bread before the meal and a choice of potato. We had also shared the calamari, which was a nice tasty small appetizer. Went on a Sunday for lunch with a group of 6. Pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves. There were a few people in the bar. The bar had great ambience with their St Patrick's Day decor. For lunch, I ordered their twist on Chicken Cordon Bleu. The chicken was stuffed with andouille sausage and pepper jack cheese. It was delicious! I also had their Teal Martini. I'm not much of a drinker anymore but I had 2 of those and probably would have had more if I didn't have a long drive home. Best drink I've had in quite some time. I would definitely be back. The only downside was the waitress didn't tell us the specials. We noticed the board of specials as we are walking out. This was a last-minute decision since my group was nearby and wanted a hearty warm dinner. I called to see if I could get a table since it was a Saturday night. Fortunately, we were there early enough (4:30 PM) what luck! When we were leaving (about 6:15 PM) the place was packed and people were waiting for tables. Our server was great! She made suggestions and had good honest descriptions when we asked about things on the menu. I started with a traditional Wisconsin brandy old-fashioned. That was good. The drink menu was over the top with old-school cocktails. That was so great to see on a supper club menu. Next was a crab stuffed mushroom appetizer. It was a perfect size to share (six pieces). Not those giant-size mushrooms, which left room for dinner and dessert. I wished they had more flavor though. Entrees at the table were salmon with dill butter, prime rib that was fatty and disappointing, and the fried walleye that was meaty, but scant on flavor. I had Ranch potatoes for my side and they were delicious! Finally, crème brûlée for dessert that was really nice. It's the true supper club experience and really cozy in both dining rooms. However, I wanted more consistent flavors on all the dishes. Just a footnote, the old-school supper club salad bars are a thing of the past. You won't find one here, sadly. read more

Had a fun dinner with friends last Saturday night. Loved all the duck decor and they have a beautiful fish tank in the bar. Bartenders were very personal and drinks were made well. There was only one bottle of Prosecco left and he saved it for me. All you can eat fish was only $20. Small pieces but very good flavor. The blackened salmon was to die for. I was told the lobster was good... I ordered a turtle cheesecake to go and it was so soft & delicious. Bill wasn't bad. I'm not sure The Duck Inn should be considered a Supper Club or fine dining, but actually an overpriced family restaurant. We made reservations for 7:00 on a Saturday night and were seated in the middle of what I would call the "overflow room". It was crowded, messy, and above all so loud, we practically had to shout at each other. There was a food service tray stand parked next to our table for most of our dinner so we could examine what diners were about to eat or had just finished. So much for romance :) If you're coming for ambiance, you won't find it there...request a booth in the bar or you'll end up in restaurant purgatory. The food was only good, and therefore expensive for what you should expect from a supper club that's as hyped as this place is. You can pay for a relish tray, or stick with the complimentary basket of prepackaged, busted up Ritz-adjacent crackers. I will, however, give credit for the bread basket served with dinner- it was great. (Pro tip: skip the cheap crackers and just bring out the bread basket earlier. Seems redundant anyway.) I was willingly up-charged for a Beefeater gin martini which was sour from too much vermouth, and the waitress admitted that someone was filling in for a bartender. No replacement was offered despite my complaint. That's fair I guess, since I drank it while waiting for the waitress to come back at some point. It must be a local favorite, since I wouldn't make it a destination. read more

We were seated at 7:05 PM as a party of eight, fully understanding that larger groups can take longer. That said, after 1 hour and 45 minutes, we never received our food. To make matters worse, for the final 45 minutes, our waitress completely disappeared while surrounding tables were being served by other staff. We sat there watching everyone else eat while nothing happened at our table. The drink service was equally unacceptable. The waitress carried drinks out by hand instead of using a tray, warming them in the process. Several drinks were wrong, and some were served in completely inappropriate glassware -- including a martini delivered in a tumbler, which is simply not acceptable at any restaurant, let alone one that presents itself as higher-end. It became very clear that the focus was on pushing additional drinks (which weren't even made correctly), likely because automatic gratuity was already included, rather than providing actual service. Communication was nonexistent, no apologies were offered, and no explanation was given for the excessive delay. Eventually, we did the only thing that made sense: we got up, laughed it off, and left. I can't comment on the food quality because we never had the opportunity to eat it. The irony is that the ambience inside is beautiful, but unfortunately, atmosphere doesn't make up for terrible service and complete neglect of a table. I give this place half a star and would strongly caution others: looks can be deceiving. We will not be returning. read more

My husband, family and I have dined at Duck Inn many times over our 30+ years in the area. Always a great family dinner/lunches. Last evening 10/30/25 we dined just my husband and I. We were greated warmly and inviting. Once at our table (booth in the bar) the bartender brought water, cheese & crackers. Our server Omar came over to take drink orders and was such a nice and friendly guy. We ordered dinner promptly and everything we had was warm, flavorful and just over all a great meal. Beef Rouladen and the Roast Duck... YUM. We enjoyed another round of drinks and a brandy Alexander. Omar continued to engage and check in with us. Dined here last night with my friends to celebrate the holidays. We had a reservation, but did not specify that we wanted to sit in the festive area of the supper club. Thankfully, they were kind to seat us next to a beautiful Christmas tree in the main dining area when my friend asked. Our waitress was absolutely stellar. You can tell she's a pro and has most likely worked here a long while. Our food was spaced out well and all delicious. We ordered oysters, shrimp cocktail, and a few relish trays to begin. I highly recommend the shrimp cocktail and the relish trays were a must for any true supper club experience. They were only $1.50 so I wasn't thrown off having to pay for them when many places still offer them for free. My friends enjoyed Old Fashioned's and said they were well made. For our main courses, I ordered the walleye and my friends ordered the cashew duck. I know duck is the main attraction to this restaurant, but I loved my fish. I had hash browns on the side and would definitely order these again. The price did not break the bank for a beautiful and relaxing supper club experience. We are frequent customers at the "Duck"; unfortunately the experience this evening was very disappointing. Ordered the chicken fingers which is one of my go to's, today they were a lot smaller than normal. The other disconcerting event was, I asked if I could have the fries removed and add pierogies knowing there would be an up charge, Also, I asked for non loaded pierogies only sautéed plus onions. What I received was deep fried pierogies, and a $9 up charge. There are too many other options in this area that won't rip you off like that. read more

Very unhappy and disrespected. I made an online reservation for my wifes bday. It was for 5:30pm Sat Aug30th. We arrived at 5:15pm. It was crowded being the holiday weekend. I talked to a young tall blond lady. She was running the desk. I checked in and said we had a 5:30 dinner reservation. She couldnt find my name. I told her I had gotten many texts and placed the 5:30 time online. She asked to see my phone. Then she wrote down something at the bottom of the time sheet. She gave me a black pager and said when it goes off it will be for you (kind of snotty). I waited outside on the benches. 30 minutes had passed, I checked with her again. She I still have 2 tables before me. I told her this was rediculous when Ive been watching people sit down who arrived after I did. She said nothing. I went back outside. The lobby was crowded. I waited again another half hour and went back up to check again. She said she paged me. I showed her my paged. #8 It still didnt go off. She said let me check again. She looked like she was scrambling to check her reservation book. I waiting another 5 min and then she finally called me up and got us a table. This took over an hour for a reservation that was scheduled. She said she was sorry but went right back to her paperwork. I felt disrespected at that point. They took us to a table and we finally sat down. The food was good and the waiter was very nice. We spent $115.00 for dinner but I would think about going there if thats how they treat their guests. We've been coming here for many years and always felt the over one hour drive was more than worth it. That changed, however, after our recent visit on March 3 this year. When we arrived, the "host" literally ignored us for a full 5 minutes...NO acknowledgement of two customers standing right in front of him. If we hadn't made the long trek, we would have walked out. After a server came over to question him, he said he "had a lot going on". The restaurant had FOUR occupied tables and no one other than us waiting to be seated. Our server was great...friendly and attentive. Now for the food. I ordered a spinach "salad" which had, literally, four leaves of spinach. My companion's scallops were over cooked and dried out. Although the seafood was ok, the pasta itself was not edible. Made the waitress aware with the hope of at least a discount, and all she said was "sorry".
