Good afternoon. Easter Brunch Sunday is a busy time! I'll start off by saying, we have had great service and food in the past. We really enjoyed our visits. Here's the skinny: One month ago I made reservations for five. This morning I had to change the number for the reservation due to family illness. Myself and my significant other decided to keep the reservation for two. Our reservation was changed from 11:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This wasn't a big deal to us. We understood the possibilities. At 11:19 a.m. we arrived in plenty of time before our respective reservation time at 11:30 a.m. The gal at the front desk stated that it would be a little time before our table would be ready due to a previous reservation was still at our soon to be table. We decided to grab a drink while waiting at the bar. At 11:31a.m. I walked up to ask when our table would be ready. The gal stated that the table would be ready in a few minutes. Okay, perfect. Well, 6 people showed up between 11:31 a.m. and 11:39 a.m. All 6 people were sat immediately. I then overheard the conversation of the gal at the desk and a waitress who sat 2 couples of the 6 people before us. She stated, "oops! I sat the wrong two people, oh well." I said to myself, hmmm. Interesting. At 11:42 a.m. we were shown our seats. Okay, no apologies by the gal at the desk. I moved on. Food time! Food looked amazing, except both dishes, poached eggs and an egg dish were not properly cooked. The egg dish was without a doubt, undercooked. The egg dish was asked to be sent back. The poached eggs were not asked to go back. I had no problem with eating cold, not properly cooked poached eggs. They're poached, what could go wrong? Service. Our bar tender was great! She was receptive to our needs and made great drinks! Our waitress was okay, nothing but average. She checked on us three times and a fourth time with the bill. This is what really upset me! After paying for our bill, the gal at the desk walked up to our table stating, "We are more than welcome to stay and continue our Easter brunch at the bar, but she needed to turn our table for the next reservation." I looked at my watch. It was 12:31 p.m.. WOW!!! I was a little thrown back, surprised by the audacity of being asked to leave. This was not our fault that the previous diners were leaving late nor that the waitress sat other guests before us at our 11:30 a.m. reservation and that the food was undercooked and not done that suddenly WE had to leave our table?!?!?! WOW! I'm not sure how the owners are with treating their customers would feel. Feel free to contact me. read more

After it being recommended to us by several people, books my birthday dinner for a Thursday evening for the Alaskan King crab legs. Opted for for the 1/2 add-on to the 5oz petite filet. Was a lot of food. But it was delicious. From the focaccia bread basket with garlic herb butter to the complimentary birthday cheesecake with caramel sauce, every bite was fantastic. We arrived early for our reservation planning to have a drink at the bar while we waited but our table was ready so we were given the option to be seated right away. CANNOT say enough great things about this place!! We made a reservation for 12 to celebrate a birthday. We had to sit at two 6 tops but that ended up being ok. The place is decorated well and has a great vibe. We were sat immediately. Can't say enough amazing things about our server. We all agreed it's the best service we've had in years!! They really pay attention to detail and are so personable. We started with some drinks. All tasted perfect. You are served focaccia bread before dinner and we could've eaten 5 bread baskets of it. So soft and fresh. The garlic butter was just the cherry on top! We ordered calamari. I only got a picture of the last two because we ate the so fast. Best calamari in Wisconsin. The oysters were super delicious as well! As good as Madison! Lobster bisque was super creamy and had adequate lobster chunks. I ordered the ribeye with onions and mushrooms. They are generous with the add ons! The halibut was amazing! It should be on the regular menu!! Well seasoned and not dry at all. This will be one of our new regular spots. Service was very good. Food was very good but the stew and the steaks were exceptional. Salads were amazing good. Lobster was huge and amazing. Bake potatoes where a little cooked to much and not fresh still eatable. Fresh horseradish was the best I've had in Wisconsin. Pricy but well worth a nice dinner. Great place for drinks barside with an amazing view! Bartender Sarah made a wicked Wisconsin Old Fashion that had me ordering one more at first sip. The lobster bisque is a must try! A cup portion is very generous but save room for your entree. I had the halibut with vegetable couscous and it was cooked to perfection! Also save room for the chef's dessert special. I've been waiting 2 years to finally get to Fort Atkinson for this place. Outdoor seating off the water- inside vibe is romantic and relaxing. Our server Oliva was top notch- even as busy as she was she was an outstanding server always smiling and checking in. What really excited me about this place was how creative their menu is. So many different sauces and combinations- not your standard supper club steak and potato place. We started with Old fashions which were perfect! Bruschetta for appetizer... was delicious with a basil cream vs while basil. Steaks were done perfectly and seasoned lightly. Hubby and I were staying in a VRBO within walking distance for a weekend, so we figured we'd give the chophouse a try when we arrived. Our server was super friendly and helpful. We had a great time at North Shore celebrating a birthday with a delicious dinner. We had four people and a reservation on a Friday night. (The reservation didn't end up being necessary). Our waitress, Cora, was prompt and polite, just the right amount of present. The food was highly complemented all the way around the table. We each also enjoyed a few cocktails which were fun to mull over. The only complaint that I had was how quickly all of our food came out. With a booth that was already a bit cozy the table filled up quickly. An easy enough thing for me to overlook for a good meal! read more

We had an unexpected night without kids so we made a last minute reservation for two. We ate on the patio and Jenna was our waitress. She was incredible, our dinner was delicious and we had a wonderful time. It did get a little buggy after the sun went down and Jenna kindly offered to relocate us but we were happy on the patio. We have been a longtime customer at this place. If you get there in the evening right before the sun sets, you will have some of the most incredible sunsets that you've ever seen in your life. The quality of the food is amazing. I want to point out that this is the first time I ordered the ahi.Poke bowl. There are only 2 times that have this perfectly fresh.. one time in hawaii and another place in madison. The wasabi dressing was some of the best wasabi dressing i've ever had. If you're a fan of lobster bisque, i'm going to tell you, I think this is the best lobster bisque i've had anywhere in any restaurant. Some of the best food in the area, hands down. A great spot with a great team. Unfortunately, I can't recommend. For $200-300 a dinner they'll assign you times and run you through dinner like a horse race. Your salad practically comes on top of your entree and they even have asked to have desert at the bar. If you're going to pay that type of money, no sense in being rushed, some great other restaurants around. Hopefully management gets things back in check but sadly, I won't be back until I don't feel ran out of the place all while losing hundreds of dollars. read more

A friend took me to North Shore Chophouse several weeks ago. It was one of the best meals and one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. We both had the beef medallions which were a special that night and a new item on the upcoming menu. They were prepared perfectly. The entire meal was presented beautifully and filled with flavor. The cinnamon, honey butter with the bread was amazing! Our server was very friendly and attentive. It was clear that she truly enjoyed her job. During our meal, the executive chef checked on us to see how we liked the dinner. I could not say enough good things about it. Before we left, we had a nice chat with the manager. I told her it was my first time eating at the North Shore Chophouse, but I would definitely come back. The excellent food and the excellent service made the dinner well worth the money. I can't believe this place doesn't have more reviews...what an AMAZING time we had! Dinner reservations for 6:30. Our table wasn't quite ready so we sat at the bar for a drink to wait. I had a vodka soda with a lime and the birthday boy had a brandy old fashioned. Both drinks were delicious and strong. Halfway thru our drinks the hostess gathered us as our table was ready. Nice corner table-quiet back room. Specials were given, no apps were ordered (we've learned we can't do apps or our dinner barely gets touched- lol). Bread basket delivered (fresh and homemade every day!!) 2nd drinks ordered. I had the special...hazelnut crusted halibut over Gruyère polenta with a cranberry reduction accompaniment. Also a side of the roasted Brussels Sprouts (which were also the vegetable of the night). He had the 8oz filet medium rare with baked potato and the Brussels sprouts. Everything was FANTASTIC. Meat was perfectly done. The fish was mouth watering. The chef, Paige, came and visited our table to make sure everything that came out was perfect. What a delight she was!! I will say that if Jenna isn't your server-then you better make sure she is next time because she really MADE our experience. Atmosphere is great and service was good. The prices are way too much for what you get. The fish fry was $19, and a salad was $6. You could certainly get a better meal for $25 elsewhere. This was our first visit. We are avid Supper Club/Steakhouse visitors. We travel Wisconsin trying out as many as we can. We love supporting family run businesses. We also like to give future guest some insight before going. Here are a couple things you should know before you go: 1. Drinks were on the higher side (old fashion and a martini) $19.00. We are from Madison and found these prices higher than normal. More like Chicago prices. Drinks were well made. 2. Food - I have attached a copy of our receipt. We had a couple appetizers, shared a main course, no dessert, one glass of wine and one non alcoholic drink. Again, found the prices on the higher side for the atmosphere we were at. Food was prepared and done well. Prices are not available on their website. You will be charged for any add-ons, which is becoming normal at many establishments. No soup or salad is included with your main course. You pay extra for those. The bread they serve is below par. Homemade/specialty bread would of made a big difference. 3. Atmosphere- the only view of the lake is from the bar area. The outside patio (for summer dining) is in the back of the restaurant, not on the lake, but in the parking lot. They have 2 very small dining rooms. First dining area off the bar has 4 cushioned booths and maybe 2 other tables. The back dining area is even smaller. I believe maybe 5 tables ( we unfortunately had the table right next to the kitchen door) Nothing special about the tables or chairs. No windows in the back room so I didn't find the atmosphere matched the prices they are charging. They have a very large coat room hallway that leads to the bathrooms. I think if they removed the wall between the two areas it would make for a more spacious dining area and could add some windows for more light and views. Bathrooms were spacious and very clean. Overall we enjoyed the food. I feel that their prices are catering to more of the Chicago clientele that frequent Wisconsin thru out the year. If you plan on going, I highly recommend making a reservation well in advance, due to them not having a lot of dining space. If you wait until the last minute, you won't get a table until after 7 and the kitchen will be out of certain menu items. read more

We found this place on yelp and we were a little early. We arrived at 330 but they don't seat people until 430. It was worth the wait. The staff was super nice and the food was excellent! All the steaks were cooked exactly as we ordered and my daughter had the lobster tail and loved it!! I hope can come back some day. read more

My husband and I went to dinner here with another couple for our anniversary and IT WAS FANTASTIC! A 10 out of 10. The drinks...omg. I had the Salted Caramel Old Fashion and it was soooo delicious. It was on the sweet side so if sweet drinks are not for you then this wouldn't be a good choice. As far as the meal... just perfect. I do not eat meat so I had the mushrooms for an appetizer and a salad for dinner. I know, that sounds boring but it really wasn't. It was so good and the portion size was perfect. I did not feel overstuffed at all. We even had cake for dessert. My husband had steak and it was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was so attentive, we sat outside and finished eating just when it was about to get too cold to sit outside. Let's talk about the views...just stunning. I am not sure the name of the lake it's on but it is beautiful. I do not have any pictures of the food because we had the best time, laughing, talking, drinking and enjoying our meal that it just slipped my mind to take a photo of the food.
