Fun place for seafood boil! My daughter and I were visiting while she was in town for business and we drove past a few times, and decided to give it a try. Lots of great seafood, great spicy options to add in your boil, which my daughter loved. Service was a little slow, but friendly. Fun atmosphere to go for a date, or to bring older kids who want to try something different. Would go back when visiting Madison again, for sure!

Mad Seafood Boiler is a great dining option if you are craving seafood boil combos, seafood, and sushi! They have snow crab legs, king crab legs, and even lobster! It's a trendy, affordable, casual, fun place to enjoy seafood with your friends/family but prepared to get hands on busy with your food especially the messy buttery seafood boils! It reminds me of an Asian/Cajun style restaurant that brings the sauce with a-lot of delicious mouthwatering sauce options like garlic butter, lemon pepper, and you can choose how spicy you want the sauce! They serve a variety of different sushi, poke bowls, and even raw oyster platters but their seafood boils are the main attraction! You can pick different general seafood boil combos which have a nice mix of different seafood like crab legs, mussels, shrimp, crawfish, with sides like corn on the cob and rice. I love you can completely customize your seafood boil picking specifically the type seafood you want and how much of it, the type of sauce, and pick the sides. Even order more of a specific seafood, extra sides, and sauces like a la carte if you want! I put on my bib, gloves, and was excited to dig into my seafood boil combo with crab legs, sausage, potatoes, and shrimp! My seafood boil was hot and fresh! My spicy garlic cajun butter sauce took the seafood boil to the next level! It was absolutely delicious with an explosion of buttery, spicy, Cajun goodness but definitely messy so definitely wash your hands well afterwards or use hand wipes they provide! The service was great and prompt also! I definitely plan to come back to try more entree options! I really enjoyed Mad Seafood Boiler!

We came here for breakfast and it was so good. Will be back here for dinner tonight! Probably breakfast tomorrow too! #remembertopayforparkingmeter

Bib me up! It's bout to get real messy in hereee! This place has been on my to go list for a hot second, and hot hot hot it was. I went with two buds and we were getting hangry. We ordered the Combo Wow Platter and a deep fried roll. The battle gear: a rocking hot bib with some plastic gloves to match. In comes the food, presented tied up plastic bag. Doesn't make for the craziest appetizing look, but untie it and BOOM it's a blast in the face of seafood buttery goodness. You had a choice of 3 kinds of butter, so of course we chose all three. Let's dissect this Combo wow: Crab legs - tbh disappointing, very little meat on these dudes. You'd break open a fatty leg hoping for a feast and all you got was the tinniest sliver of meat. Shrimp - these dudes soak up that sawwwce! This is the money ticket. Cooked well and classic Sausage - a delightful surprise of flavor! I only wish there were more Corn and potatoes - these are a welcome addition to the butter seafood bath, nothing amazing but yummy nonetheless The BUTTER - honestly was the highlight. I mean it's butter and it's spicy butter. My two favorite food groups. The deep fried roll was yummy! Even though it was deep fried it was a surprising fresh side to the seafood fiesta. It all ended up being 28 ish with tip. It's a fun experience and yummy, but maybe not the bestest value (although I define good value as my pants bursting at the seams and only a minimal dent in my poor college student income). Pro tip - with that left over butter, poor it all up in the rice you get. It's crazy delicious. TLDR: get the cute bib, with some splashes of butter on your face. You won't be taken aback by the seafood but be prepared for a butter filled heart

We ordered here for a birthday dinner last night and it was good/medium quality. The prices are arguably decent for crab legs and fish, but there was such a fishy scent for everything we got. I ordered a poke bowl and the tuna didn't seem fresh, but I got through about half of the bowl. The crab legs came soaking in the butter garlic and I wished the corn wasn't also soaked. The shrimp dumplings were okay too, pretty squishy. Things were good, just not amazing.

Mussels were tougher than they should have been. Shrimp were older. Like they reheated in the microwave on this occasion. Cajun flavor had no seasoned flavor. Zatarains from the bottle or box could have worked. 1 corn was old. The other corn was fine but even it nor the potatoes could soak up a flavor profile for that "cajun" seasoning. Try the lemon pepper flavor. Proper spring roll. I've had other places give an egg roll and call it a spring roll. Signage around says you cant substitute rice for corn, potatoes nor egg. I don't get the value not purpose of the rice just yet. They are running specials via Facebook or direct call ins for togo orders.

Wow combo w/ a lb of crawfish added

I've been here quite a few times since they opened. They have an amazing black rice sushi (all their sushi I've tried has been fresh and great). All of their seafood boil combos are great, combos have changed overtime. Used to be larger more expensive combos for groups to split and now it seems to have branched out to smaller less expensive combos but for 3 people with tip we spent about $200. I always get the combo with all 3 flavors combined and level 3 spicy level (not spicy at all to me). Eggs are an extra $1.50 but it's so worth it to me. Love leftovers from here and their service is so friendly and on point! I will continue to treat myself to their meals when a craving hits!!

I am basing this off of the meal only as I did a take out order for my debut stop at this place. I got the king salmon poke' bowl as it was ranked as popular item among customers and I love me some good salmon. The people were right as my poke' bowl was darn good! Super fresh ingredients, melt in your mouth salmon chunks. Very nice wasabi mayo sauce as well. Real sushi rice as it should be. Portion is pretty decent as well. My order was ready 5 minutes early when I came in to get it so they work fast. Place was not too busy at all when I stopped in about 815pm on a Wednesday night. I want to try their many, many, appetizers and sushi rolls next time. Their menu has a long list of each and they sounded so good!

You will get lost in the sauce here and ITS REALLY GOOD! If you're a saucy one, this is def for you. It's on the saltier side but mixed your seafood and sides in there and it balances it out. You get a bib and a some super thin plastic gloves (I double pair and ask for more half way through). If you get the combos - along with the seafood choice, you also get corn and potatoes. For 2 people, we get 1 combo and then 1 lb of something else with the side of sausage (so good!). The shrimp is good size and juicy - skin is soft enough to eat with or peel easy. The clams were a big win for us and using the shell to scoop some extra sauce and a little rice is the perfect bite. The biggest disappointment but to not much surprise given we're in the Midwest was the crawfish - they were pretty small with very little meat. We got it with everything sauce (Cajun, garlic, lemon pepper) which I'm telling you, is really good. Staff is quick and attentive. No frilly stuff, just straight to business. Price I think is also really reasonable given the amount of food.

Combo Platter B plus a pound of crawfish

Good! If you want sea food this is the place. They fill a bag up with crustaceans of your choice. I went on my birthday & won a free pound of crawfish off the birthday prize wheel. You pick the sauce & how spicy . Add some potatoes ,corn & rice & you're having a good time. I wore my bib but i opted out of gloves & napkins. It was so fun getting all messy & digging into this flavorful, large, sea food dish. No complaints here. But if I could give one suggestion I would say add some type of biscuit or some bread of some type. Otherwise this was a superb dining experience.

The neighborhood is nice and Sake Sushi is located in a small plaza, however I almost missed it since it is located on the side of the plaza and was not visible from the street. Inside I found an interesting mix of decor, it seems like a traditional Asian restaurant with white linen tableclothes and also some very modern touches including neon strip lighting along the ceiling and a variety of light fixtures. Overall a bit of a mishmash that would be better if they picked one style and stayed with it. I got there in the late afternoon so the place was empty at first, I was seated and given the menu which allows you to fill out what you want. The menu is fairly similar to other AYCE sushi places I have been at. Of note is that at dinner you can order up to 15 pieces of sashimi without an extra charge. I ordered a nice selection of sashimi, some sushi, a couple of different maki rolls, the salmon skin salad and the seafood soup. Interestingly the sashimi and sushi came out first, then the maki rolls, then the soup and salad. The sashimi was very good, fresh with nice sized pieces; the nigiri sushi had a nice portion of seafood to rice. I was a bit disappointed with the seafood soup, just a bit under seasoned and too much bean sprouts. The salmon skin salad was excellent with nicely roasted smoked salmon skin mixed with a bit of eel sauce, delicious, crunchy and one of my favorites that you don't see everywhere. I also enjoyed the scallops sashimi, large fresh raw scallops with a nice delicate flavor and texture. The maki rolls were good as well, nicely sized with plenty of filling. I did really enjoy the Super Lobster Roll with shrimp tempura, cucumbers, avocado then topped with lobster salad; the lobster salad was a nice treat, although I think it was made with lagostino lobsters it was still tasty. I also liked their version of spider roll, the soft shell crab was crispy and flavorful. I enjoyed my meal at Sake Sushi, dinner was $30 for all you can eat. The sushi and sashimi were very good, of course not quite the same quality as the best sushi bars but pretty close. Service was good and there are plenty of choices, including noodle dishes, fried rice, hibachi and tempura. The decor is a bit of a miss, but nothing that will keep you from enjoying your meal. Well worth a try if you are hungry and feel like some sushi and Japanese food.

She called the sushi "chef" (that's a stretch in this case!) several times to answer questions. I asked if there were any spicy rolls, and he suggested a few, but they all contained imitation crab, which I find unappetizing. I finally settled on a Spicy Salmon Roll and a Soft Shell Crab Roll. I also ordered a Miso Soup. The Miso Soup arrived first, and it was a very watered-down version of Miso Soup with no umami. I stopped and pushed it aside after a couple of spoonfuls. The rolls arrived, and I was about to ask for wasabi and pickled ginger when I noticed these little pre-packaged plastic bags of wasabi and pickled ginger. I should have left then . . . a big mistake to stay. I started on the Spicy Salmon Roll. One bite and I knew I wouldn't enjoy it. I've never tasted such a mediocre take on sushi rolls. I ate two pieces because I was hungry, but it was all I could stomach. I looked at the Soft Shell Crab Roll and noticed that it contained imitation crab. I called the young woman over, and of course, she went and got the "chef". I told him that I didn't recall seeing imitation crab in the description of the roll on the menu. He said he'd make me a fresh batch without the imitation crab. The replacement roll came, and there were little red bits of something sprinkled on top of each slice. I called the young woman over and asked her what it was. She insisted that it was tobiko. Honey, I'm from California, and I know tobiko when I see it. This ain't tobiko. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Again, another big mistake. I took a bite and quickly spat it out because my chest suddenly felt constricted. I started coughing, and tears began streaming down my face. My mouth felt like there had been a chemical explosion, and I had trouble breathing. I called the girl over again and, with a raspy voice, asked her what was in the roll. Of course, she called the "chef", and instead of answering my question, he told me he would refund me for the roll. My curiosity got the better of me. I was pretty certain it was the little red bits of "tobiko" that caused the reaction I had, so I scraped them off the next roll and removed the piece of soft shell crab, ate it, and it was fine. I braved myself and took a bite of the roll with the "tobiko", and had the same reaction as before. That was it. I'd had enough of this wannabe sushi joint. I gathered my things, told the young woman this was the worst food I've ever had, and left. That was such a frightening experience. The pain in my chest subsided after an hour or so, but my voice remained raspy for the rest of the day. I will never go back and wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. How this place garnered 4.4 stars is beyond me. Giving it 1 star is being overly generous!
