This is a great place for reasonably priced sushi. We got this platter to go which easily filled our family. You have to do chef selection but it was all pretty straightforward rolls and included some of our favorite. Will be an easy Sunday night meal option for us again!

I'm so glad this place moved in. Easy to navigate the website and order online. I honestly had pretty low expectations given the name and strip mall storefront, but I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Sometimes cheaper or smaller sushi joints cram so much rice into the sushi it's hard to find the fish... iLike Sushi does not skimp on your fish to rice ratio (unlike some of the higher end places in Madison). I much prefer this to some of the fancier sushi places nearby and will continue to go back. Reasonable prices, nice staff, and an easy pickup counter. I wasn't able to pay online so you still have to wait in line if there is one, but it wasn't crazy busy at dinner time when I went. I will definitely be coming here again, especially since their menu has a "pick 3" sushi option - affordable yet delicious.

Wonderful Shrimp Tempura - not overcooked at all

I stopped in for luncj, got some sashimi and some shrimp tempura. I usually avoid Shrimp items in and around Madison simply because it is not a great fish town and the results are usually quite rubbery. here I was pleasantly surprised. The Sashimi was good, firm, chilled and I had no complaints. The tempura was a good coating, was not rubbery at all and tasted great. I wont hesitate to come back! LOVE them. The staff are all really nice and the prices are worth it! The food is good for the price and it all tastes very fresh. There is not much seating but the decor is cute. I recommend being ok with doing takeout in case there isn't a table

Steamed pork dumplings - get them!

Website is really easy to place a to go order, you pay when you get there. It was ready exactly when they said it would be. The steamed pork dumplings were definitely a highlight. Soo good! Salad was really big. Scallion pancakes were very different than the Chinese variety we are used to - really fluffy and flaky...think Japanese croissant! Sushi was good, not particularly special (I'd probably give it a 3.5 if Yelp would let me, but rounded up to 4 thanks to the great prices. Two rolls for $9.95! Most expensive special roll is $13.50. We got the Dancing Tuna. Tuna was really pretty and seemed very fresh. The staff was super friendly. We'll definitely be back.

I've always ordered delivery from here. Pretty quick if I'm just trying to make do with sushi. Lunch special has a lot of food.

The gentleman who served me was very patient and friendly as I looked over the menu and asked questions about different dishes. I started with the lamb skewer as an appetizer and was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful it was. For my main dish, I chose the Gyuunika Ramen with shrimp. It was a bit on the spicier side, so if you do not enjoy heat, you might want to try something milder. If you want to dial down the spice level, I recommend adding their house teriyaki sauce--it adds a nice sweetness that balances the broth perfectly. The dish was rich, hearty, and delicious, and I didn't mind the spice at all. Safe to say, I will definitely be dining here again before I head back to my home state.

While the beef itself was flavorful and enjoyable, the egg was too overcooked and kind of ruined the dish. The ramen content was fine, but the broth lacked flavor and richness. There were also only 2 pieces of meat in the ramen which was disappointing. Overall it was okay, nothing was wrong with the service at all, we were just expecting a little more from the food itself.

All veggies were fantastic . Good whiskey selection. And the service was great. It sounds like things were rough at the beginning but they got the hang of it. And prices seems reasonable to me. Not sure what people are complaining about but I can't imagine most of these dishes being cheaper. The only thing holding this back from a five-star rating was the customer service. It wasn't necessarily bad, just not very friendly. A bit more attention and warmth from the staff would make a big difference. Still, the quality of the food and the vibe make it well worth visiting! Side note - please make sure the iPads are not right next to a table. A constant beeping takes away from the experience.

Pistachio one was my favorite. There were many Asian ice creams. Propitious mango was a good one. There were a lot of small food places in the food hall. I tried food from a lot of different places. The food hall had a lot of seats, and was neatly maintained. It was never crowded. Kawasaki is close to the entry of Global Market. So the first time I was there, I went straight to this place. I had a Chicken katsu rice bowl. It was one of the best food I had in the food hall. Display had some very delicious and cute cakes. Next time I should try some of that. Taiwan Street has nice pho and bubble tea. I went for a pistachio milk shake, without bubbles. It was good. But I think I should have really went for a pho. They have a lots of sweets in display. I went for a peach swiss roll and a sesame ball. Both were good. From Dumpling House, I went for a chicken and mushroom dumpling and chinese chive pie. Both were good . It came steaming hot. I think I should have gone for some of their more favorite items like chive and pork dumpling. From Nice Flavor Stir Fry , I went for a sauteed sliced lamb with cumin. Generally this is a really flavorful dish which you cannot go wrong with. But it wasn't as good as I expected. Flavors were off, and the quality fo meat was not as good as I expected. Stir fry chicken mei fun was my favorite item from Bowl Bowl Rice. It came hot and was flavorful. I also had a tea leaf flavor egg. It was just $1. But it came with egg shell. I had to peel it. Egg was slightly less flavorful than I expected. Mochi donut is the main item in Glazed. There were some food items as well, but I didn't find takers for that. I went for 3 donuts - Oreo, honey dew and churro. The flavors were all interesting. May be oreo was my favorite. Donut texture was more chewy. From S&B Hmong Kitchen, I went for a fried rice from this place. It was flavorful. Cilantro and scallion on top gave a nice flavor kick. From Poké Mì, I went for a drunken noodles as my entree. It was not as good as I expected. Flavors were off. May be I should have gone for bahn mi. I haven't seen sugar cane juice anywhere else in Madison. So went for one. I thought it was just ok.

The neighborhood is nice and Sake Sushi is located in a small plaza, however I almost missed it since it is located on the side of the plaza and was not visible from the street. Inside I found an interesting mix of decor, it seems like a traditional Asian restaurant with white linen tableclothes and also some very modern touches including neon strip lighting along the ceiling and a variety of light fixtures. Overall a bit of a mishmash that would be better if they picked one style and stayed with it. I got there in the late afternoon so the place was empty at first, I was seated and given the menu which allows you to fill out what you want. The menu is fairly similar to other AYCE sushi places I have been at. Of note is that at dinner you can order up to 15 pieces of sashimi without an extra charge. I ordered a nice selection of sashimi, some sushi, a couple of different maki rolls, the salmon skin salad and the seafood soup. Interestingly the sashimi and sushi came out first, then the maki rolls, then the soup and salad. The sashimi was very good, fresh with nice sized pieces; the nigiri sushi had a nice portion of seafood to rice. I was a bit disappointed with the seafood soup, just a bit under seasoned and too much bean sprouts. The salmon skin salad was excellent with nicely roasted smoked salmon skin mixed with a bit of eel sauce, delicious, crunchy and one of my favorites that you don't see everywhere. I also enjoyed the scallops sashimi, large fresh raw scallops with a nice delicate flavor and texture. The maki rolls were good as well, nicely sized with plenty of filling. I did really enjoy the Super Lobster Roll with shrimp tempura, cucumbers, avocado then topped with lobster salad; the lobster salad was a nice treat, although I think it was made with lagostino lobsters it was still tasty. I also liked their version of spider roll, the soft shell crab was crispy and flavorful. I enjoyed my meal at Sake Sushi, dinner was $30 for all you can eat. The sushi and sashimi were very good, of course not quite the same quality as the best sushi bars but pretty close. Service was good and there are plenty of choices, including noodle dishes, fried rice, hibachi and tempura. The decor is a bit of a miss, but nothing that will keep you from enjoying your meal. Well worth a try if you are hungry and feel like some sushi and Japanese food.
