I would say this is a pretty solid, basic cheap sushi spot. I like coming here before 5pm to score their 2 or 3 roll lunch special. Quality is pretty good for cheap sushi. In the 5+ years I've been going here, I've had a couple instances where the fish wasn't the freshest, especially the tuna. However, that hasn't deterred me from coming still. 5/5 place. It's affordable, quality sushi - what more could you ask for? For 3 people, we got the 3 roll special, tuna nigiri, salmon nigiri, 3 miso soups and a crab Rangoon. For the 3 roll special, we had the spicy salmon roll, spicy tuna roll and Philadelphia roll. Both spicy rolls were amazing, with good portions of fish. I don't normally get a Philadelphia roll but when I saw that they use real salmon instead of smoked salmon, I was sold. It was amazing and the avocado that came inside the roll was synchronous with the yummy cream cheese. The crab rangoons are also in strips instead of triangles, which honestly, more restaurants should do because it's easier to eat. It was delicious. The miso soup was also a generous portion and perfectly salted. The nigiri were fresh and delicious. All of this was for takeaway and I almost wish we dined in, because the inside decor is really pretty. They have these lightbulb fairy lights and origami cranes hanging from the ceiling. Came here for lunch with a group of about 7, and we had a lovely time. They had no issues accommodating our group at peak lunchtime on a Friday and service/food was prompt. You order up at the counter, but they do have menus they give to you where you mark what you want to order with a marker, and then bring that up to the counter. We ordered that way, but others from other tables just walked up to the counter to order. Staff was super friendly. We started with some edamame for the table, which was delicious - they used a high quality salt on the outside which really enhanced the yumminess (technical term). I ordered the lunch special, which is a great deal, and my sushi tasted fresh and had a decent ratio of rice to meat. I got the salmon avocado roll and the "plain" salmon roll. I was delighted with both. They brought out a dessert for two in our party who were celebrating birthdays, and while tempura is not my thing, the fried cheesecake and fried Oreos did get eaten by some. I would definitely come back here for quick, easy, and delicious sushi. They seemed to have a pretty decent stream of to-go orders/delivery orders as well. My favorite appetizer at japanese restaurants is the agedashi tofu, so I had to try Fin Sushi's! The portion was much larger than I expected, which I appreciate but I was disappointed with the sauce. It almost tasted like the alcohol hadn't been cooked off. For sushi, I ordered the eel cucumber roll and was a little disappointed it was more cucumber than eel, but I'm not that mad for the price and it still tasted good. Probably too much food but still wolfed it down. High quality fish and cut, well seasoned rice and tight rolls. From a value perspective, it is definitely there. It's not the most extensive sushi menu I've ever seen, but the sushi was fresh and the miso soup was tasty. So, the food was good and very reasonably priced, but the place itself is kinda weird. My first time there and I walk in - there's a table with menus, but no host. I wasn't sure if I should seat myself or wait to be seated or if I was supposed to order first. I kinda stood there and looked around and nobody helped. So, I grabbed a menu and sat down. They ask you to fill out the menu which I'd have to imagine is a huge cost of menus. You go up and order on your own (at least, that's what I did) but they bring it out to you. I'll definitely go back now that I think I know how it works and will update with a new lens. There aren't many tables - a lot of people were doing pick up, but there are a few. read more

If you're looking for quick cheap sushi, then sure this is a decent spot for sushi. Pretty chill spot, nice and quiet. Staff doesn't really check in and leave you alone to eat or chat with your party members. If you're looking for quality, this isn't it. At best, it's mediocre. Sushi rolls were pretty small, almost like they were being stingy about the amount of rice or fish they used for their sushi rolls. If you want a decent-sized sushi roll, get the specialty rolls. With the exception of Atlantic Salmon, nothing else tasted fresh. Pretty sure everything was previously frozen and defrosted early in the day. White Tuna is actually escolar (FDA advises not consuming this fish due to wax ester being indigestible), not albacore (albacore is the only white tuna). Sashimi slices were pretty thick. Don't think I'll come back in the future when I revisit Wisconsin. read more
