a slice of cheese pizza in a box

Good but not great. Good value, and a good sauce but the rest of the pizza is forgettable.

Foldable perfection - A person holds a slice of pepperoni pizza with a crispy crust, while a Pepsi bottle is visible on the table in the background.

I've eaten quite a few of offerings off their menu, but let's talk pie here... Whether you order a whole pie, or by the slice, you can't go wrong. It reminds me of the pies I miss dearly back in NY. The slices are large, with a whole pie as large as a spare tire. What's the most important thing to a large slice? Right, the crust. It needs to be balanced, and IT IS. The bottom, having a thin crisp that doesn't impede a proper fold, if ya know what I mean. Breaking through that crispness into the perfect balance between soft, and a structure with the right amount of chew. The speckled char from their oven gives a gentle kick without tasting burnt. Give it a try if you haven't already. If you have, go back for more. **First time visitor attention please** The owners are fabulous people. Kind and friendly. They will greet you with pleasantry on your first visit. On your second visit, they treat you like family!

Pizza by the slice - A pizza slice topped with pepperoni, green peppers, and onions, served in a white pizza box.

This pizza joint has a nice layout, and is one of the few places around (VERY few) that offer pizza by the slice, which I am always looking for. Judging by the pizza itself, I can say it's OK. The crust is not quite NY style, not quite thick crust but somewhere in the crispy in-between. I'll say that the pizza really looks nice, and I was surprised at how crispy it was despite sitting on display and ready to eat, sans reheating in an oven like your typical by the slice place. The flavor of the pizza is where it doesn't stand up to muster. It's just not there. The crust is the more prominent feature and flavor in this pizza, and I don't mean it's flavorful - there just is a lot of it and is what gets the most bite. I still appreciate it as an option, and hopefully in the future they can add more flavor into their sauce, as that would go a long way. I got the pepperoni and peppers and onions pizza. Big plus for having veggies on without it being soggy.

What a pleasant discovery this was. I went here because I…read morehad seen advertising for it and I wanted to give it a try. It was pretty full, even on a Friday afternoon, which was a good sign. In another good sign, the menu is not gigantic, so they're doing a few things and usually doing them well. That was certainly the case with the food today. As a note, the interior is what you'd expect from a pizza and grinder place. Some booths and tables, plus a bar area that I only glanced into that also appeared to have tables. The service was amazing. Attentive, friendly, fast, answered any question and anticipated needs. The food ordered was a French onion soup, a fried chicken grinder and fries, and a 4-piece broasted chicken dinner. - French onion soup: very flavorful, complete with crouton and cheese, in a crock. One of the better French onion soups I've had. - fried chicken grinder: I really enjoyed the bread here, crispy crust (it was toasted) but a give so you weren't having to power through it. Proportionate toppings, and the fried chicken cutlets had flavor in the breading plus were juicy. A real joy to find good grinders like this. The fries were all crisp, no soggy ones, and no burnt ones. - broasted chicken dinner: wow! I was blown away by this chicken. It was so moist, the coating was thin but tasty, I was sad when I got full and had to take the breast piece home. I can't recall a time I've had chicken this successful, that wasn't rotisserie. It comes with a starch and a green (I didn't end up getting my green now that I think about it), but I didn't eat much of the onion tinglers as I was so focused on the chicken. Real home run here! I'm not sure I can be properly effusive on this. I also want to point out that, all this, plus two sodas, plus one cocktail, after tax before tip, came in under $60. In the current times and prices, this is a steal. So, 4 G's earns their five stars handily, hits every note just right, and now I'm sad I don't live closer. I can't encourage you enough to come here.

Stopped in for lunch and seated ourselves. Restaurant has a combination of tables and booths…read more The menu is pretty extensive with appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, pizza. And various entree dishes. Board posting listed soups available for the day and another board showed daily specials. We ordered the garlic/olive oil knots, corn chowder, shells with meatballs (comes with two garlic knots), and the Italian panini with fries. The chowder arrived quickly and had plenty of potatoes, corn, and bacon in a tasty broth which wasn't too heavy which was a nice touch. Seasoning was good and potatoes still had a good bite to them so they weren't mushy. Great choice. The garlic knots arrived in a basket on a tissue paper with a good amount of olive oil in the bottom. Parmesan cheese covered the top of the knots. They had nice crunchy tops with a very soft interior. There was enough oil so we could dip the knot into it to soak the oil into the knot. Very tasty item and would definitely order again. The pasta arrived with plenty of sauce and three good sized meatballs. The sauce was thick enough so that it stuck to the pasta and filled the shells nicely. The meatballs were seasoned very well and were a great accompaniment to the pasta. The panini was brushed w/Evo, and had Salami, Capicola, Ham, Banana Peppers, Roasted Red Peppers & Provolone w/ French Fries. The French fries were very well fried, large with the skins still on and had a great crunch on them. The panini was on what appeared to be ciabatta bread which was well grilled and nice and crunchy. There was plenty of meat, cheese and peppers and was very delicious. Not normally a panini guy but would definitely order this again. All in all lunch was excellent. Great little place in a great little town. Our server was very friendly and helpful and made sure we were well taken care of. There will be return trips to the restaurant. Plenty of parking behind the restaurant and easy access to and from the main road.
