At this point, I don't even pretend I'm there for a full meal anymore. I've adjusted expectations all the way down to survival mode. I go for the salad. Crisp lettuce, safe choices, no emotional investment. It's the only section that doesn't feel like a gamble. That says everything. Because when a buffet--a buffet--loses your trust on hot food, something fundamental has broken. Buffets are built on abundance and satisfaction. This one delivers abundance, sure. But satisfaction never quite shows up. You leave full, technically. But it's the kind of full that feels like a missed opportunity. Like your stomach showed up ready for a meal and got handed a placeholder instead. I don't think the problem is effort. I think it's standards.
