Parking lot is small and can and a problem though but it is worth it.

Now situated across a few locations within San Diego county, this spot is where it all started. The brewpub holds a great dining space with seating indoors and out, arcades for those looking for a bit of entertainment, and a bar tap full of their own creations sure to satisfy all tastes. Street parking or public transport is how you'll get here but once you've arrived, might as well stay awhile as Solana Beach has much to offer. Head on inside and peruse their menu of pizzas to the left and beers to the right. You'll order the food and drinks separately but I recommend putting in the order for the food first as it'll take about 15-20 minutes to cook it up. In addition to pizzas, they have salads as well so you can get a nice balanced meal. All of their pizzas are made fresh unless you decide to order slices I suppose (I've always ordered the whole pizzas). As you wait, grab a drink and some seats and chill awhile. All of their tables have napkins dispensers and you can get the shakers for additional parmesan cheese or peppers. They also have a self service water and soda station. Their pizzas are delicious and generous with the toppings. If you're a pepperoni fan, they do a fine job spreading them out and crisping them up. Their white sauce pizzas are pretty good as well; creamy and melty which pairs well with the toasty and springy crust. I've never had a bad pizza here so you won't go wrong with your order. The staff are friendly and helpful. You'll definitely get the socal vibe here if you're not a local. Very hospital and relaxed atmosphere. Overall, Pizza Port is a great destination for out of towners to get a taste of the San Diego pizza and beer scene. In addition, it's a watering hole for many locals so you're bound to meet some folks who live or work nearby and perhaps can provide you a few other recommendations of places to visit and things to eat. Consider coming out to some of their local events too or checking out their other locations further south; it's always a good time for pizza and brews!

We started off running south today and I headed over to the Dog Beach and down one of the side paths and then came back to end my run at Culture Brewing. I clocked in 3.5 miles today. Nice bar staff greeted me kindly and when he asked me if I wanted a 10 oz or 16 oz, I said, "well it's been a bad day, gonna go with a 16 oz." We then started talking about a case of the Mondays and the movie Office Space and we both loved the film! I got a nice chuckle laughing with another human and he then gave me a token which could be used on my next visit for a free drink. That was a really nice gesture and made me smile. I told him thanks and that he turned my Monday around! Later, while talking with other fellow runners, I learned that once a month, there is paint n sip nights and tonight, one of the events was happening in the back patio. I went back there to take a peek and got to chatting with the lady who runs it. She gave me her card and I told her maybe our run club might wanna do this as a group one evening! I love this place. I have eaten at every Pizza Nova in San Diego County since somewhere around 2003. When my office moved to this area 5 years ago, I was thrilled to see that there was a Pizza Nova not 5 minutes away. The Southwest Corn Chowder is to die for. The Best Salad is just exactly that, if you add chicken it's a full meal (2 for me). Today I had the Pesto Pasta, and it was fabulous. The addition of the goat cheese really makes it. All the salads are wonderful and the dressings are unique. Not your usual Ranch, Blue cheese, Italian. I believe they are house made and are delicious. Fabulous Food! I've been treating myself with the gourmet pizzas and salads at Pizza Nova for more than a decade. They are so delicious (I find I'm craving them far too often) so I didn't venture out to the other items on the menu. Don't make my mistake. The crusted halibut is unbelievable!!!!! The flaky fish is perfectly melded with the lemony flavors of risotto that melts in your mouth. For a gourmet meal, who knew I had to go no further than my neighborhood pizza spot. California style pizza done right! Pizzas, pastas and salads in a warm atmosphere. The Romaine and Watercress salad with gorgonzola cheese and candy walnuts is superb. I had the house specialty, The "Pizza Nova" with salmon, capers, red onions and goat cheese... it was fantastic. Be sure to have one of their famous Spicy Shrimp Wraps made on a fresh pizza dough pita. It is enough for 2 people and has shrimp, mozzarella, chili, fresh salsa and avocado!!! Got a salad that was $15,but it was just like the side salad at Dennys( that costs $2) then I switched my order to lamb shanks.
