I ordered for takeout online which was easy to do. It was thoughtfully prepared, packaged and ready on time despite the fact that it was busy being a holiday weekend. I ordered French Fries, Burrata Caprese Salad, Pepperoni Pesto Ricotta Pizza, Burrata Sausage and Hot Honey Pizza ( Detroit Style) and Pesto Burrata Chicken Sandwich ( substituted sun dried tomatoes for regular tomato slices). Everyone enjoyed all the food. The favorite hands down was the Detroit Style Hot Honey Pizza. It was very rich and I had a small piece which was very filling. The crust was crispy and the flavor was layered perfectly with the hot honey. 10/10! I must also say that the French Fries being fried in beef tallow really enhanced their flavor. Perfect. Will definitely try more things from their menu. It ranks among my top 3 Pizza Restaurants. read more

We walked into Best Pizza and Brews in Cardiff and immediately liked the lively and friendly vibe. We found seats at the bar (albeit terribly uncomfortable seats). Carly was our bartender/server for the day and she was fantastic. The tap list is pretty good, but they do not offer a hard seltzer. Kombucha and cider, yes, but they're not the same, so Becky had to settle for a beer which is never ideal. We were just there for a couple of drinks but I did check out the menu, and the Burrata Sausage Hot Honey pizza caught my eye, (mozzarella, homemade marinara, burrata, sausage, hot honey). I could not get that out of my head. We were camping across the 101 at San Elijo State Beach so I told Becky that we had to return. I needed that slice! The following day we returned for a light lunch. We ordered at the counter and took our number to our table on the patio. About five minutes later our food was delivered. That slice was everything I thought it would be and more! The thin crust was crispy and light. The sausage was exceptional. The hot honey was actually hot! Too many times hot honey is just honey. This was as advertised. Becky chose a slice of Pepperoni (tomato sauce topped with pepperoni, provolone, and mozzerella) Also a great slice. The provolone was a game changer and the sauce was delectable. excellent pizza! Carly, 5-stars! :-) Pizza, 5-stars! :-) Service at the counter, 5-stars! :-) Vibe indoors and outside, 5-stars! :-) No seltzer, 3- stars. :-( Uncomfortable Barstools, 2-stars. :-( Best Pizza and Brews Cardiff - get some! read more

Cleanliness NA Cost 3 Cuisine 2 Customer service NA We door dashed an order of a Detroit style pizza and a regular cheese pizza. Detroit style pizza was small and the cheese style pizza slices were big but super thin. Flavor was not there at all. The Detroit style had more of a clump of cheese rather than it being melted on. We will not order from this place again. read more

I love local places that take care of their employees in any Possible Way, Best Pizza has a jar on the counter that used to say Cabo trip and now it says gas money because that's what these people need and for the most part, no one puts anything in it. The pizza of course, and all the food and the beers the wine are all local legends but it's the employees who are so energetic and so right on top of it that need to be tipped when I just ordered a couple of pizzas a few minutes ago I just watched and five or six people came in ordered pizza to go and walked out. That's wrong. We all need to help each other and I think this is a really subtle way to do it that's why I love Best Pizza. read more

One of my favorite spots for pizza! We ordered online ahead of time and waited about 30 minutes before picking it up. I didn't realize they had an app until after I paid, but they offer a little discount for signing up. The restaurant was busy but the counter line was quick. The order was ready and included all the utensils, crushed red pepper, and parmesan. The food was still hot when we got home and tasted great. The burrata, sausage and hot honey pizza is my favorite! I'm always a sucker for hot honey but all the flavors blended together perfectly. I always forget they have great deals for slices and variations that are great for lunch! read more

I think best pizza is my favorite slice pizza in north county! The 2 slices 1 pint for $16.50 is the best deal! All slices are good, but my favorites are the buffalo chicken and the sausage burrata hot honey. With a side of ranch! We love Best Pizza by the slice after the beach. Works, Hot Honey, BBQ Chicken, we mix it up and add the hot wings or marinara meat balls. Always friendly service and good local vibes. Other than Landini's in Little Italy, Best Pizza is the only pizza we will eat in So Cal. read more

The service is great; everyone was very friendly. The ambiance was lively and pleasant. Seating is an indoor/outdoor hybrid which I personally enjoyed. We ordered some pepperoni and buffalo chicken pizza slices as well as a Caesar salad. The salad was fresh and perfectly dressed, the pizza was good, but not my personal favorite in this specific area given the taste, size and price. That said, if you're looking for a good casual lunch or dinner place with some variety on the menu, I'd definitely recommend Overall a good experience--looking forward to trying the beer they have on tap next time. It looked like a great selection! read more

I love Best Pizza & Brew. Moved to Cardiff -by-the-sea over 4 years ago, but lived my summers of 1970-80s in San Diego N. Coastal. Since moving back to Cardiff in 2022 as a 50+ adult, Best P&B had been my local hang. Their Manager Joe Ramsey had befriended me in 2022 as a local. He still remembers my name like Cheers on TV, call my name when I arrive. It's not just Joe, the staff remembers my name too. Over several years, the staff keeps up with what I do and where I am in life. I've noticed it's not just me, they extend the relationship to all repeat customers and recognized locals as if it's a special badge of honor. If you want the neighborhood experience, even if you're not from the neighborhood, they will treat you as such. Did I mention their food is great? Meatball Sandwich is my usual order. Wings for sure when I need the Buffalo Sauce fix (bone in), and Detroit with hot honey is a must. If you're from Detroit, at least verify it's worthy of Detroit style slice by giving it a try. NY style is their usual, by-the-slice and is always a safe bet. Order the whole pie if you're a family. Can't go wrong. But as a Dad of adult children, they like to order their favorites from the by-the-slice to get their favorites. Or, option for another item, salad, fries, sandwich beverage combo. Can't go wrong with their bar food. Can I just say?...You can't go wrong with Best Pizza & Brew for a beach lunch and evening dinner. Add a pint for brew if you want a good local favorite. And if you want a local hang out, this is the place that will remember your name. read more

Love this spot but we left dinner feeling a little disappointed tonight. It's not the end of the world obviously so I don't want to give a bad rating but I do think someone should know. I'm confused as to why slices are both $4.75 for a cheese and meat lover when the meat lover is priced higher than a cheese pizza for the full pizza. Shouldn't the cheese slice be a little less than the meat lover slice in that case? Again not a huge deal but we were more disappointed that the cheese slice that we got was the smallest slice I've ever seen, definitely not worth nearly $5 for that. We asked one of the workers and he didn't seem to care much, I get it but it would have been nice to get some kind of validation on this or something other than a " I dunno". I'll back but definitely won't be buying pizza by the slice from here. read more

This comment is sort of a prelude to en experience! I have an 18 son who is currently visiting from The US Army boot camp. He's got 15Days to do the things on his short, but specific todo list! :in a randomized order... 1. See family Done 2. Have some homemade food! Done 3. GET MARRIED!!! Done. And never the happier! 4. Get his own BBQ Chicken pizza to consume in a normal army chow time! 5-22 are not worth mentioning or just not PG enough. So our window of opportunity happens to be on New Year's Eve to step into San Diego's most Freindly, and hospitable pizza restaurant. We are hoping to see Ximena,,Eric, Zach, Donny,Ze, Cash, Erica, Meg, Stew, Zoe, and I know I'm leaving out people. I Apologise.for doing so! Nonetheless, just thought I would make a note now knowing our experience with Best Pizza and brew has always been five stars and why it's on my Son's to do list!! read more

Matt and Kailey were very efficient behind the counter! Our food was amazing! Customer service was 10/10. Definitely will be returning!

While camping at San Elijo, we decided to celebrate a birthday and order five pizzas. Instead of using the app, we walked over to Best Pizza & Brew, to place an order for later. The ordering process was fine friendly service at the register. The pricing felt a bit high however Cardiff is an expensive area and $30 for a pizza seems to be the going rate. In the restaurant there were plenty of smiling employees whirling about doing work. The playlist was a combination of modern pop and classic rock. The TV was playing the Laker game and and Luka Dončić was beginning his career with the Lakers. (Side note: This will begin a new era for the Lakers.) We came back later to pick up our food, five pizzas and garlic knots. The pizzas came out on time, piping hot and ready for transport. We walked them over to our campsite. The pizzas are thin crust and quite tasty. I concur with their high rating on yelp I would not have done anything differently. We fed about a dozen people and they were happy. I'm a picky pizza person and I found this pizza to be quite good. An interesting sidenote, is that, the leftovers were everybit as good if not better than the day we ordered them. To me this seems to speak to the freshness of the ingredients. I find that fresh ingredients often get better with time as they release their flavors and gooo up a bit. There is a competing pizza shop nearby, of which my nephew speaks highly. I will be having a pizza contest within my own family on my next run to San Elijo. I'll keep you updated. read more

Love the upbeat fun ambience. Great selection of pizza but Corner Pizza and Urbn are better and more in line with NY style. Sauce was a little too salty Nice beer list. My favorite thing on the whole menu though was their signature salad. Absolutely delicious and I ate the whole thing! They also have sandwiches and assorted other appetizers but we didn't try them. Enjoyed the meal here read more

We ordered pizza for a potluck and had it delivered to my workplace. It came in timely matter. Let's just say we found out that Detroit pizza is a thick crust and rectangular and small for the cost of 18 dollars per pizza Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but the cost of two of these cost 45 dollars. The pizza was crutchy and cheese burn edged making it crispy and soft inside. These are definitely more like a personal pizza ora small group of 3 people and not for a group especially a potluck at a workplace. We all said that we want to go to the actual restaurant to try the pizza and get drinks. read more

Was able to try the pizza and chicken wings. The BBQ chicken pizza was good but they have some pretty bomb chicken wings. The chicken was meaty and crispy. The people were friendly and there was a lot of seating inside and outside. They have some pretty good deals on slices and their happy hour looked legit. I think they have $2 a slice during that time. I would recommend sticking to slices as the 12in pizza was $20 and we were still hungry afterwards. The slices were a lot smaller. read more

We love this pizza and the locations are always clean and the service awesome. It is disappointing that they add 20% tip for only a party of 6. Since we didn't see this we tipped twice at that amount. And... honestly...it is not that difficult to serve pizza and drinks. read more

Water was good. Servers are annoying. Water was really good. Did I mention the water?

Walked over from the campground. This place is always a good choice. Friendly staff. They have pizzas by the slice as well as full ones by the order. Beer and wine choices. Right off of PCH. Dog friendly with a dog menu as well. It's small inside but they also have a little bit of patio seating. Check it out read more

The pizza itself was good but unfortunately the service really took away from the experience. My dad and I stopped in on a tonight (Friday night) and sat at the bar for a simple order: water, calamari and five slices of pizza. Right away, our server didn't write anything down and had trouble remembering what we ordered. Then we were told that three of the five slices we wanted were sold out. Instead of asking what we'd like as substitutes, we were simply told they would "surprise us." When we asked what the replacements would be, we were basically told, "Whatever we have," and the server seemed visibly irritated that we wanted to know what we were ordering. It also was odd that we weren't asked if we had any allergies / dietary restrictions before deciding our food for us, and we didn't even know if we'd like what they'd pick for us. The pizza we ended up receiving was fine, but the attitude throughout the interaction made us feel like we were inconveniencing the staff despite ordering a simple meal and kept to ourselves. The checkout experience was just as frustrating. When we said we were ready to pay, we were told, "You're good," without being given a receipt. We had to ask multiple times before finally receiving one, and it wasn't itemized, so we couldn't even verify the charges before adding a tip. Everyone can have an off night, and I understand restaurants get busy, but basic communication and customer service go a long way. Not sure if we'll be back. read more

Came into Best Pizza & Brew on a whim and ended up having one of those nights that reminds you why great local spots matter. The pizza was unreal, perfectly cooked crust, generous toppings, and clearly made with care. We tried a couple different pies and every single one hit. Solid beer selection too, which always helps. What really made the night, though, was the service. Joe took care of us and genuinely elevated the entire experience. Friendly without being overbearing, dialed in, and clearly someone who actually enjoys what he does. He checked in at all the right moments, made great recommendations, and just brought a great vibe to the table. You can have good food anywhere, but service like that is what makes you want to come back. If you're in Cardiff and looking for great pizza, cold beer, and people who actually care about your experience, this place delivers. We'll definitely be back read more

Had pizza delivery. Pizza was tasty, good flavor on dough but a bit heavy dough--I like my crust very thin and crunchy. Ingredients were delicious but sparse, with no toppings within an inch of the crust edge. Wings were tasty and good, not a special item, where I would order these wings again. There are so many pizza places in this area that an ordinary, good pizza no longer makes it for a return visit. The location is great for a local pizza place close to the Cardiff beach. It is a popular local hangout and always seems to be busy when I drive by. I enjoyed the food. read more

Hands down the BEST garlic knots/pizza crust in San Diego. This is the type of pizza where you will look forward to eating the crust because it is so chewy and cooked to perfection!
