Stopped by for a nice lunch after Strawberry Picking and enjoying the beauty of a rainbow of ranunculus' at The Flower Fields. Food wise I have no complaints about pizza nova. Everything I've ever gotten has been well turned out and exceeded my taste expectations. I especially think that their pizzas are very flavorful and I absolutely love the crust and the way that they are cooked which I believe is in a Woodfire oven although I haven't been in the kitchen to verify that. Their "best salad" is full of so many little delicious bites that just work very well together. And I love the dressing that is served with it. I have had there fettuccine Alfredo which is delicious Lee garlicky, I have had their pasta à la vodka which is creamy and delicious. I have also had their Bolognese which I have no complaints about either. Their kids menu is good sized and well priced for Littles. I have also had delivery from them on several occasions and they show up in a timely manner have a good communication and ****mostly**** remember my little things like extra sides of ranch. In addition I have had a large group here (16 people) and they did very well bringing our food out hot and together as well as being attentive to our drinks, refills and appetizers. If I had to make one drawback I feel like it may be could be a little cleaner from a deep clean perspective. It is outwardly clean but I felt like the toddler booster seats were very sticky and kind of gross. Also I can tell that the rag they're wiping the table tops with has seen better days. I arrived to pick up my order. The restaurant was not too busy but the hostess was rushing around like chicken little. After charging me and not even giving me the courtesy of a smile and thank you for the generous tip, she shoved my to go bag toward me and as I asked her a question about an item that was missing, she was already knee deep in another conversation. Personally, in my experiences before the food and service was great. Although, my most recent experience was horrible. Our waitress, sat us down and got us drinks and took our orders and that was the last she saw of us. We saw our appetizers sitting on the counter waiting to be served and when my brother got his calamari it was cold from sitting out. Our waitress spent her evening talking with some customer at the bar rather than checking with our table. My favorite is the complementary garlic rolls/bread that they give out before food comes and we never got any. The table right behind us got 3 servings of those complementary rolls but our table was neglected. When we first ordered we ordered: a cheese pizza, calamari, cheesy bread, and a kids pizza to go. 20 minutes in there's no food, and this nice server who was not our waitress gave us the pizza and the calamari. The waitress didn't put in our order for the garlic bread and it took us 2 times for us to ask about the to to go kids order that she didn't even put in until we had to complain after waiting 15 minutes after we finished eating. My dad who never complains had to get the attention of another server and tell him our server has been neglected and when the manager went to talk to her I saw her visibly be annoyed and complain to the other waitress at the bar right near our table and then finally put in the order for the to go meal after an hour at the restaurant. Also my glass of water was empty halfway throughout the meal and it was never filled even with me pushing it to the front of the table so it would be filled. Sadly, we will not be returning as the service was absolutely horrible and although the food was nice it's not worth being neglected. read more

The meatball sandwiches are fantastic - the bread is the perfect thickness, not too heavy. Most restaurants use thick French bread that is way too much so you can't even enjoy the meatballs and sauce. The salmon risotto and salmon crostini are great - perfectly prepared and delicious. All of the salads are so good. My friend ordered the lobster bisque, I'm definitely getting that next time, he said it was delicious. Another friend had the chicken fettuccini, he loved it and he's real fussy about food, so it had to be good. Everything I've had here has always been great. Strangely, there were other pairs comfortably seated in booths and several vacant ones as well. This behavior is quite baffling for a local establishment. As parents seeking a simple early date night, our expectations were simple - a convenient spot close to home. Regrettably, our hopes were dashed, and we reluctantly left. They have a pretty big menu and the prices are on the higher side. But there is more than just pizza and pasta. I decided on the Chipotle Lime Chicken Salad. The salad consisted of grilled chipotle chicken breast, tomatoes, roasted yellow corn, scallions, roasted peppers, mozzarella, tortilla chips and red cabbage with chipotle chili dressing. It was huge. I really liked the salad and couldn't finish it. My friend had the Pasta Nova. She didn't like hers. Got takeout from here. We usually go to the San Marcos location. I guess Uber Eats (or whatever Yelp subcontracts orders to) was broken, so they took the order, but then they lost it. The manager was great, very friendly, took my order right away and I got food quickly. Not sure about you but when I scour the menu I'm looking at my food options, not an asterisk notation on the bottom of the menu. We have been coming here for years and when I wanted to check the menu online, I was surprised at quite a few negative reviews. we just returned from another very nice experience here tonight. We were greeted with a smile by the hostess, who asked us if we wanted a booth, even though there were only two of us. The waiter also greeted us pleasantly and brought our drinks out within a few minutes of being seated. We split a large Caesar salad, which was excellent and plenty for two people. I ordered the chicken piccata and my daughter ordered the chicken tequila fettuccine. both were excellent and we ordered a couple of tiramisu desserts to go. Everything was right on time. The food was hot and fresh and tasty. This is still one of our go to spots and we will come back here soon. read more

Advertises vegan options (vegan cheese) for pizzas however they either don't have them in stock on a Friday night or maybe they just don't have them at all. Ordered an asian chicken salad instead and the chicken had a taste to it that made it hard to swallow (maybe last night's? it tasted old and cold and bitter). Also hard to swallow were the large chunks of cartilage in the said chicken. Pretty embarrassing, as embarrassing as having having staff who are unaware if their own menu and common food allergies. First time here. Ordered a lunch special of angel hair pasta w olive oil and tomatoes. This came with a ceasar salad or house salad. I chose ceasar. To my surprise, I also recieved about 6 warm buttery bread balls in a bag as well. Then I ordered a lobster bisque soup as well. My order would have been about $17 without the bisque. But the bisque was too tempting so it was $28 total. Money well spent. I have no regrets. The salad itself was the same size as my pasta. It could be a separate meal if you threw a little chicken in there. The creamy ceasar dressing is very lemony, but I can't grump too much because I do love all things lemon. Ceasar salad should have romaine lettuce but I got iceberg so they may have run out. ;) The bisque was amazing, screaming hot and had real lobster chunks. Everything was fantastic and hot. Ready on time, super friendly service. You are getting every bit of your moneys worth of food for sure. I will definitely go back. I tried their lunch special which was $13 for either salad & pasta or salad & pizza. (A selection to choose from) The pizza was a 4 slice personal pizza and pasta was enough to make you full but not one of those portions where you have a full 2nd meal to go. The salad you can choose from with this deal is Caesar or their house salad. I tried their house salad and it was good if you like the sweet kinda salad with some diced apples and candied nuts. My pasta side was the fettuccine and I asked for the spinach noodles! I tried my friends BBQ chicken pizza and it was good but not to die for. Overall, I was happy with this experiemce and liked that parking is really easy too. The food is good for a lunch bite and you'll be satisfied for what it's worth. This evening the service at Pizza Nova (Solana Beach) was terrible. Hostess led us to our table, tossed the menus on the table, and walked away. No eye contact. No greeting. No conversation. Server was no better. No greeting. No introduction. Never came back to ask if we needed anything. Had to ask for rolls, water refills, to go boxes, and the bill. Gave my credit card for the bill but received in return someone else's bill. It took a bit to track down where my bill and credit card were. Server then switched them out, laughed, and walked away. No apology or even any words spoken. First time ever in my life I have not left a tip. Thank goodness the food was good. It was the only saving grace. read more
