I ordered Best House Salad with grilled chicken - And my husband ordered Greek Salad with grilled chicken. We love Pizza Nova and order from here almost every week. The food and the staff who work here are outstanding. Drew is the person who usually answers the phone and handles the order, and he's professional, friendly and accommodating. Max is the person who usually delivers our dinner, and he's punctual, caring and makes sure our order is perfect. His brother, Nico, was also a server at the restaurant and is an awesome guy. Our go-to choices are usually chicken piccata, Asian chicken salad and spaghetti with meatballs - all are delicious and very well prepared. The crust had great chew and they didn't skimp on the toppings. If you are an east coast transplant and love the new your style dough that's hard to find, you will be very happy. I had a friend tell me about this place so I finally ventured out here to try it today! It's located off the 5fwy in solana beach in the big homegoods shopping center. I was pleasantly surprised to see the large outdoor covered patio. They are lucky to have that huge space with this pandemic going on. We sat outside and had the entire patio to ourselves. Our server was fantastic. My kids loved the garlic rolls...I tried to limit myself to just 2! Our server offered us more but I kindly declined...had to save room for our pizza! I ordered the grilled peach burrata salad it was good. The burrata made the greens a bit soggy. Not sure if I would order this one again. Our pizzas the goat cheese and Italian were delicious!!! I requested them to be cooked extra crispy and they were!! We have plenty of leftovers for a late night snack and I'm so excited!! Great pizza joint! Update: This place is right in my neighborhood so we frequent it a couple times a month. Last week I had a quick date with the BF and I'm upgrading them to five stars! A few things: They offer gluten free crust baked in a dedicated oven. This is a huge deal to those who have to live GF lives. To eat pizza crust unafraid?? This is normally only accomplished if we bake it ourselves. Also they offer goat cheese, so! Gluten free crust with only goat cheese and all the toppings? Amazing and my regular order. They bring the delightful bread balls to your table for free when you dine in, lets just call them amaze-balls actually. Olive oil and garlic, these bread babies sneak up on ya! You eat one and you're like "that was good, hum..." Then you eat another...then you find yourself waking up in the middle of the night thinking about them. Just sayin, You've been warned. The customer service. This is a local neighborhood joint, and in my last say....4 visits? I've noticed some adorable things happening. Example: A darling old lady came and sat in the bar the other night by herself. The bartender came out from the back of the bar to take her order-she wanted a white wine but didn't know what she wanted. He brought her several samples to choose from, including the house wine and cheapest options-he didn't push the more expensive varieties, in fact, he poured her a taste of the best they serve AFTER she picked the house option, just so she could try it. The bartender was just as attentive to her with her one glass of house wine as he was to anyone else...more maybe even. It was adorable and felt super home-y. The first AMAZING item of note is that we ordered for delivery at 8pm on a Friday night (I'd love to say this was pre-going out but, alas, late 20s lameness has occasionally set in so delivery was the big plan! Haha) and it was at our door in under 30 minutes! That is unheard of in most places and is especially awesome in Solana Beach where there are few delivery options as it is. The pricing was very reasonable, the pizza was delicious, and the free garlic bread balls were such an outstanding surprise! He was really friendly and offered a lot of great suggestions. They have an awesome lunch special with pasta/salad or pizza/salad and the portions are huge! I ended up getting the Chipotle Lime Chicken Salad to go - YUMMY!! The chicken was juicy and tender and the dressing was light and refreshing. You can get it with gluten free crust though I got regular. They first bring you these garlic rolls (usually 4), which I love. You can also ask for the rolls to be plain, but why take all the fun out of it?! The salad and pizza is a good deal for lunch. I've always received great customer service here and this visit was the same. Pizza is flavorful and the salad is filling. My family and I have been going to this location for several years, the quality of the food and taste is EXTREMELY consistent. The meal never disappoints!!!!! The wait staff is constantly standing around playing on their cel phones or hovering around the bar like it's the cool place to be. We went yesterday and noticed an obvious turnover in servers......AND YET THE SAME QUALITY OF SERVICE, I REALLY JUST DO NOT UNDERSTAND! When we received our complimentary bread noticed a great inprovement which was a really nice surprise, we asked for butter for the table....yet never received it. Our drink order was taken but had to request water twice. It never fails we always order a cocktail and if you don't grab your waiter halfway through the glass you will never get an offer for another. Your glass will literally sit at the table empty through out the whole meal. I would never trade quality of food for service, and yes we always go back. So basically everything I could ever want on a pizza, and I was not disappointed. My favorite has always been the thai chicken pizza and the Oriental chicken salad. I often order the lunch special with the best salad and the gluten-free thai chicken pizza. The service is always excellent and the ice tea is terrific. Other favorites on the menu are the halibut, chicken tequila fettuccine, chipolte lime chicken salad and the white bean minestrone.
