I visited Pizza Mia for the first time in Newburgh. I ordered the family pizza option that comes with 1 large plain pizza pie, garlic knots, wings and 2 liter bottle of soda. I really wanted to like this place as the pizza smells delicious. Unfortunately the pizza was way too salty. I've eaten all kinds of pizza being born and raised in NYC. I've also visited Chicago and Philadelphia and had pizza there. So I feel I've got a good idea of what pizza is supposed to taste like. I've also had my share of salty pizza but this pizza pie was way overboard for a plain cheese pie. I truly believe the mozzarella cheese is the culprit. They seem to use Grande products that are known for high sodium. The wings were good and garlic knots were average. If they use another mozzarella with less sodium on the pizza can be really good. I hope they make some changes so I can go there again. read more

Had to return something to target. Figured, I hadn't had pizza in a long time, stopped at Pizza Mia. Ordered slice of Chicken & Spinach as well as Buffalo chicken slice (to stay) Out of 7 tables (in back) 5 were empty, not one clean. Young man came & cleaned table at my request. Neither slice was brought to me hot (plate was warm) the cheese was one solid piece & cold. Crust was burnt all around edges. Chicken was like trying to chew shoe leather. I was so disappointed with Pizza Mia. I ordered a large pie half pepperoni, half cheese @ $16.50. Upon arrival an hour later the pizza was cold and burnt. I called to ask for a replacement pie like I have done at other places without any problem. The girl on the phone said there wasn't any thing she could do. So I asked for the manager that happened to be very busy I was told. I continued to hold 15 mins later. And he told me if I wanted a new pizza I would have to pay another $16.50 for another pie. I don't understand why I would have to pay again for a cold, hard, and burnt pizza pie. In these days of a pandemic and money is tight. All I know is that I will never again order a pizza pie from NASTY ASS PIZZA MIA.... so not only was the pizza cold it was bad, nasty and burnt. When in NY do as the NY 'ers!!! Doing laundry next door and hit up the great Chiropractor there in the complex. While laundry was a washin I went wandering and stumbled upon this place. When I wandered in ... Wow lots of pizza by the slice! We r from Washington state where this just doesn't happen.. So we indulged. Omg did we indulge. We ate way too much and loved it. We used to get pizza from here all the time and the last tome we had gotten it a few months ago, it was not good. We decided to try again tonight. Almost 15.00 for a large pie? Also the pie was overly salty and cold. My daughter loves garlic knots and she was disappointed because it was dry and stale tasting. Horrible service and pizza. I got excited ordering from this place for the first time. I ordered through DoorDash and the order came timely; however, the pizza was horrendous. Upon opening the box, I discovered that the cheese was sliding off the dough. I attempted to take out the slices, but wasn't able to do so properly, as the cheese slid completely off. I called the restaurant to let them know, and the manager cut me off and told me that I need contact Doordash. I told him it wasn't a Doordash issue and that it's a preparation issue...the pizza wasn't properly made. He refused to listen and rushed me off the phone. Very rude and abrasive. I will never spend my money at this place again. Had they admitted to their mistake (I didn't even want a refund), I would've been satisfied. read more

Not sure why some people knock this establishment. I was hungry for lunch while in the area and wanted a slice of pizza. Took a chance based on enticing pictures posted on Yelp and was very pleased. The folks working today were very friendly, took time to explain the flavors of pizza in the counter. I chose a slice with diced chicken on top. Many pizza places that I have visited use crappy cheese and canned sauce - but not this location. It was a nice crust and all ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Wonderful pizza with lots of different toppings available by the slice. The pepperoni vodka and meatball vodka slices are among my favorites. Their marinara sauce is delicious, and is highlighted on the Grandma slice. Get an order of garlic knots, which are very flavorful, and dip it in their sauce! All of their other food is very good. I got a salad from them that looks really well made. There izza is also really good. Which makes me upset to say the chicken wings they gave me are really disappointing. They're so small and skinny, they look overdone and have barely any meat on them. I haven't had any other negative experiences from there, but I was upset to see that they'd put out low quality food like this. I've seen thicker wings at a Chinese buffet. Guess it just shows high expectations need to be carried out in everything they do. read more

My son picked a 16" Buffalo chicken pizza for $20 (not to include tax) on a Friday night. This is the first time we have ordered from Pizza Mia. We will never order a pie from them again. It was terrible. I believe when my son picked the pizza at 8:30 pm, it might have been a leftover pie they had. The bottom of the crust was burnt (black), pizza was mostly sauce, there was little mozzarella, flavor was nothing to talk about. We have had better pizza elsewhere for less the price. read more

The 2 slice and soda special is anything but. The pizza they gave me looked as though it has been sitting there for hours & equally tasted like it looked. Additionally the fountain soda I was provided with was as carbonated as tap water. Take a hard pass on the special unless you're looking to be especially disappointed. I'm so sad to write this review because this was my neighborhood pizza spot. But I went in today and witnessed the main guy there, maybe owner or manager, take out a stack of cash from his pocket, counted money to give the cashier and proceeded to go back to kneading the dough to make several pizzas WITHOUT WATCHING HIS HANDS!!!! I'm here so often I don't check in half the time! Takeout too, make sure you order extra garlic and extra sauce for the knots, the sauce is that good! Unfortunately I am not giving this place a good review. This actually used to be my favorite spot and it's a shame because the owner seemed so friendly. However this establishment is disgusting. My mother went in to get a slice and she said she forgot to tell the woman at the cash register that she didn't want the extra cheese . When my mom told the cashier (who handles the money and other things ) that she didn't want the extra cheese . Without washing her hands or anything , she proceeded to pick off the extra cheese with her bare hands and give it to my mom. My mom politely started to say "I'm sorry I didn't want you to touch it with your hands." The cashier then replied , " well what do you want me to do about it?" Sadly to make matters worse the owner was right here with a smirk on his face. My mother just decided to walk out . And I won't ever be recommending or going there again because I am sure that is a health code violation, and just plain gross. read more

I ordered a margarita pizza and fried shrimp from this place. The pizza was horrible and so was the shrimp. The shrimp were not even cooked properly somewhere light somewhere dark but yet all of it tasted pretty bad. What hurt the most was I GrubHubed this order and it was $40 for food that half of it I threw in the garbage. I don't know if I just had a bad order, but at the end of the day I will never order from this place again. read more

I moved up to Newburgh earlier this year after a lifetime of being a NYC 5-borough boy. And by 5 boroughs, I mean 4 because come on, Staten Island? Feh. :) But: Bronx born, lived in Flatbush, Elmhurst, Astoria, Washington Heights...you get the idea. Pizza and deli Italian is home for me, so coming up here was a bit of culture shock. The cardboard being passed off as pizza around here was - well, let's just say when they collect my recycling they'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between my leftovers and the box it came in. I exaggerate a *leetle* for effect, sue me. I'd about given up, until I tried Pizza Mia and finally! Something approaching the pizza I grew up on! And you can get individual slices! I've tried a few pies, and my friends visiting were all satisfied with them. On a whim I decided to stop by after a Target run and see if I could pick myself up some dinner. A few jokes with the staff and I settled on the chicken parm, to eat in. First: the staff is amazeballs. Young but clearly about service with a smile. Attentive, friendly; definitely an atmosphere I'd come back to. I'd originally planned to get the parm and a Sobe from the fridge, but the girl behind the counter suggested I might prefer the special - the same parm, a fountain drink, and a side salad for $10 - saving me probably $4+, and adding a salad to the mix. The salad was simple but more importantly, didn't taste like it came straight out of a fridge and saran wrap. Could have used some grated cheese, but for a free salad it hit the spot. The parm...wow. I got it with spaghetti, and out came this massive plate with a healthy portion of pasta and two full, flattened chicken breasts. The sauce had just the right about of sweetness without the bitterness I sometimes find. The chicken probably could have used a bit more seasoning but I like bold flavors. More importantly it was cooked perfectly - enough to maintain that moisture in the meat, but not so much that I felt like I was cutting shoe leather which is really easy to do with a flattened breast of meat. It even came with a side of lightly seasoned focaccia, a pleasant change from the usual heel of Italian bread I'd expect. Understand: this isn't 5-star dining. It's simple, homestyle food and with that as a benchmark, they deliver (literally and figuratively speaking). All told, Pizza Mia is the only place on my pickup order list for simple pizzeria Italian. I'll need to try them out a bit more (happily!), but this transplant feels a lot better about his move because of hidden little spots like this. read more

Great food good pricing and excellent customer service. My friend and I were visiting the Manheim auction in Newburgh when I yelped this location and said let me give them a try. I had the lunch box which included two specialty pizza slices, Garlic Knots and a choice of a fountain drink. Great value and my friend had the Philly cheesesteak. I would come back again. You can substitute the garlic knots for fries or another item forgot what it was. read more

Our fav local pizza place!! I actually prefer to go to the shop and pick out a slice because their selection of gourmet slices is always incredible. The staff is super friendly (all of them, always) and they literally describe every slice out on the counter (best variety I've seen locally). Even if they just ran through the list for a customer 2 secs before you walked in, they will do it again for you with a smile on their face and never appear annoyed (bravo to that!). The slices are always creative and unique and there's always a huge variety. Hubby & I visit quite often and are never disappointed. They even have healthier options (whole wheat, gluten free, and veggie options). The staff is always friendly and the food is always great (we love their wings too!). Looked for a pizza place in the area and this place did not disappoint. I tried the caprese pizza on a grandma style crust and it was a solid crunchy crust. I would recommend this place for take out and delivery. It was not the greatest place for a sit down meal, kinda cramped, but it was certainly yummy. read more

I've eaten here many times before and the service is always great and the pizza very good. Today I got a meatball parm sub and have to say I was very disappointed. Their sauce is good but they don't put enough on and the sandwich is dry, also for a "parm" sandwich there is not very much cheese on it. Lastly the meatballs tested like frozen store bought, they were dense, spongy and not a lot of flavor. I will still go there for pizza but will be going somewhere else when I want a meatball parm sub. read more
