    Meatball and ricotta large pizza
    Laura D.

I drive from two towns away and past many other pizza shops to go to pizza market. The large pizza is enormous, the crust is really good and the sauce is sweet. The breadsticks are made on a 14" pizza crust and had a strong but fantastic flavor of Italian spices and garlic. They both reheated very well in my air fryer toaster oven. The staff is super friendly, it seems like a family business where they understand friendliness goes a long way. The dining room is very plain but we've only eaten in once, as we usually bring it home to enjoy.

Stopped in looking for a grinder or sandwich for road trip home to eat in car. No sandwiches here (WTF?), but did get 2 slices of pizza, one cheese and pepperoni for 7 plus dollars. Slices HUGE, sauce very tasty, maybe could have used a bit more cheese but very good.

Y'all... their pizza is so big! I have never in my life have ever seen a pizza so big! That's right, not even during my summer stays in NYC did I experience such a huge pizza! And they have fries! But not just any kind of fries. These are like potatoes wedges golden brown with a nice salty seasoning. The best! I absolutely love it when pizza places have bomb fries. The cheesy/garlic breadsticks were delicious and they came with a marinara sauce. The chicken strips were good too. The pizza was full of flavor with each bite! You have to check this place out when you are in the area! We did order dessert, charged for it, but never got it. So that is unfortunate and the only reason I'm knocking a star.

Visiting my parents in Maine, we just ordered pizza here for the first time for lunch. We picked it up piping hot. We had a promotion that we received in the mail and it lured us in..... we are so glad it did. Huge quality pie with just the right cheese sauce ratio while having minimal flop. Recommended from our family to yours.

Great pizza place if you're staying in the area. We ordered it to go and enjoyed it on the beach. Gluten free pizza was great!

Very sweet sauce for a pizza. Was quick when we ordered and large pizza for the price. Just couldn't get over the overly sweet sauce.

This year on one of the occasions we went, we happened to try to get in after 9pm, the staff was clearly in close up mode so we felt bad, but David and the bartender insisted we come in for our nightcap. We had our drinks and left, also as usual the drinks were very good. We returned the next day for dinner, we started with the provolone slab appetizer, then I had the lobster risotto, which was loaded with lobster and really tasty. My wife had scallops, and we both enjoyed an amazing martini. David, our server, and the rest of the staff were all amazing as usual!!

The ravioli dough thickness was thicker/denser than I like, but the cheesy filling didn't fall out which is the key to a good ravioli. I also thought it was crazy that vodka sauce was a $5 up-charge, which is the highest sauce up-charge I've ever seen (and it needed more cream). Valet parking is required and the lot was like a zoo, but the valet team was working SO hard to accommodate the crowds and their efficiency deserves an award. All the staff hustled and we appreciated their efforts on a busy Saturday night.

We got straight to ordering which included Chicken Wings ($16), Truffle Fries ($16), a few other entrees - but the winner being the Sassy Truffle Mushroom Pasta ($32) which was amazing. The local fresh mushrooms were a combination of oyster, cremini, and white button with a nice cheesy sauce. Noise levels on the lower end, and service was a little slow. Once seated, it took quite a while to even receive water, though oddly our drinks arrived relatively quickly--the one bright spot of the evening. Honestly, those drinks were much needed given how long it took for the food to come out. Our meals took well over an hour, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. When the food finally did arrive, it came out sporadically, with dishes served at different times rather than together. The quality was equally disappointing--the salad was warm (which should be a crime in itself), and the pasta was bland and lukewarm, as were the other dishes our family ordered. While this could have been written off as an off night, recent reviews suggest this has become a pattern. It's unfortunate to say, but this season does not seem to be their year. What made the experience even more frustrating was the lack of response from management. Staff were clearly aware of the delays, yet no one came to address the situation, offer an apology, or provide any form of compensation. There are plenty of great local spots to enjoy a nice evening out--I would strongly recommend exploring those instead. Do yourself a favor and keep driving past this place.

I love that it's a bit out of the way of the downtown area so you can park and relax in a beautiful setting. We started with cocktails and drank them outside while admiring the beautiful property, i highly recommend getting there before your reservation so you can enjoy a drink on a nice day outside! I got the Tideline cocktail and substituted the tequila for mezcal after the bartender suggested it and wow! A great drink and i was impressed how fast the service was. Once we sat down inside we ordered a lovely Gamay for the table, you really can't go wrong with any of the wines on the menu they have a great selection. We ordered quite a few dishes to share between the three of us and the server brought them out in a 3 course style per her suggestion. We started with the citrus and fennel salad and grilled raddichio and these were both so fresh and delicious, we had to leftover vegetables this were exceptional. Then came the asparagus pizza, pork and beef meatballs, and the focaccia as our second course. We almost skipped the focaccia- that would have been a huge mistake. That is a must order, the texture was biscuit like and the seasonal flavored butter was divine. The pizza was really blowing us away with the white sauce and the chili crisp combination. The dough is so light and crispy as well it was wonderful. The meatballs were huge! and came with delicious grilled sourdough. The pasta and lamb shank came out next and at this point we couldn't see how it could get any better but then it did! The lamb shank is huge and cooked so beautifully. The pastas were definitely the standout bites of the course. The carbonara noodles are thick and cooked perfectly and the sauce is so rich a creamy. The Tortelli pasta was my favorite, the pockets stuffed with a gooey filling and the fava beans added a great texture to the dish. We were in carb heaven. We somehow were able to fit dessert in and i'm so glad we did not skip it. We ordered espresso martinis to accompany and this is without a doubt the best espresso martini i have ever had. We substituted tequila and they were completely delicious. I don't remember exactly what the names of the desserts were that we got but one was a a chocolate mousse with a peanut butter sauce and crunchy peanuts which was so yummy. But the favorite of the table was the pistachio one. It was like an ice cream bar with crunchy pistachios on it. Get this one if you go! This was an unforgettable meal from service to food. The staff is incredible and really treat you wonderfully and the food is so good i really didn't expect it to blow me away as much as it did. This is a place i'm going to have to come back to again and again.

"Take me to the pilot, lead me through the chamber Take me…read moreto the pilot, I am but a stranger" (Elton John) Our convention committee was in town celebrating last summer's successful event after years of planning. Five of us headed for lovely Kennebunkport, but where should we meet for lunch? Choosing a lunch spot could've taken all afternoon, but a trusted local steered us toward the Pilot House. So that's where we met up -- and it ended up being a terrific lunch. It has a scenic location in a harbor on the Kennebunk River, where the whole waterfront is dotted with boats. The big dining room is equally pretty with colorful nautical flags covering the ceiling and maritime décor everywhere. Pilot House was packed, I mean pretty much every table and every barstool, but after a short wait a table opened up for us. Our server, Carley was great- with a super nice attitude and quick water glass delivery. Pilot House's menu has plenty of seafood options among its appetizers, soups, salads, baskets, sandwiches, and entrees. I went with their Fish Tacos ($19) - "Golden fried haddock, red cabbage slaw, queso fresco & house made candied jalapeño aioli. Served on flour tortillas". I asked Carley if I could get the fish grilled instead of fried, and that was no problem. I loved the tacos; the fish was plentiful, flaky and tender and that jalapeño aioli was excellent. One of the other meals at our table included an interesting one. Ever hear of a Haddock Reuben? It was $21.00 for a marble rye sandwich with fried haddock, coleslaw, 1000 Island & Swiss cheese. Not a morsel was left behind. Two of us went with a Fried Baby Shrimp Basket ($24), a huge feast of golden fried baby shrimp, French fries, coleslaw & cocktail sauce. We were seated in the far-right side of the dining room by a bank of windows, and I noticed what looked like a huge yacht connected to the restaurant by a walkway. Turns out there is a restaurant bar up there. I so wanted to scoot up there for a few photos, but it wasn't open for the season yet. Oh well, maybe next time. Just another reason to visit the Pilot Hose because the food and dining experience were top-notch.
