After doing a quick Yelp search i found Red House BBQ. From the being to end the whole experience was great, we were greeted promptly and sat down just as fast. We opted to sit outside since it was a beautiful day with great weather. The patio and outside seating is huge, the inside is a bit smaller but still has plenty of seating and it's nice I love the decor. I went with the Tri Tip sandwich and added hot-links which was a great choice I also got a side of fries. The Tri Tip was well seasoned it had the crack peppercorn taste that I personally love. Served on a soft Brioche bun I believe. They give you 3 bbq sauces on the side to choose from Sweet and mild , mild and spicy all three were delicious. My wife and daughter went with the pulled pork sandwich which I tried an it was delicious, especially the little pieces of Bark. My wife had a side of Mac and cheese and my daughter a side salad. They said the Mac and cheese was delicious and so was the side salad it was fresh. They do have a small bar nothing big and offer beer, wine and some mixed drinks. Overall it was great experience and I say even better BBQ than most of the spots I've tried in Bakersfield. It's a shame it's about 45 mins away but I'll be definitely making the trip back soon to try something else on the menu.

Visiting the area from out of town we wanted to try many of the local cuisines. This place was…read morerecommended due to its popularity among the locals. The food is delicious. All of it. Pulled pork, Mac n cheese, sliced Tri-tip. Very fresh and tasty, and large portions on the plate. The service was horrendous. It started with walking in and the waitress said "wait and have a seat". Wait and sit where? There was no easily identified waiting area. All the tables were full. Oh...across the room on the one empty seat at the bar. Glad I spotted it. We placed an order for onion rings as an appetizer while we reviewed the menu. Several minutes later we placed our entree order. Shortly after that our entrees came out, no appetizer. Five minutes after our entree arrived the appetizer showed up. I wanted my water refilled but we didn't see our waitress for 15mins, finally having to flag down another waitress to assist. Later I asked the manager to explain how the appetizer showed up long after our entrees, even though I placed the appetizer order first. She spoke so fast with a strong non-American accent that she was difficult to understand. I asked her to slow down because I didn't understand her, yet she continued to talk fast with her thick accent that I could only pick up bits and pieces. Something about fried food taking longer to cook than the already-prepared meat. I told her the service was disappointing. She said "okay" and told her waitress to fill my glass. And that was the end of the visit. I don't know who owns the place, but we did not receive a positive customer service experience, rather just getting lots of broken excuses. 2 stars for the food. Nothing for service and management.

Not entirely sure but it looks like it could be the only Indian food restaurant in town. It has two…read moreseparate spaces - the pub and the restaurant. The restaurant is spacious, relaxing, and has a fireplace, maintaining a warm atmosphere. We were immediately asked if this was our first time, and then provided some recommendations. Food came fairly quickly - maybe a 15min wait. Server was attentive to the ongoing need for water (that's what happens when ordering the hottest level of spice). Many reviews on here talked about the chicken tikka masala - I agree with the positive comments. It was delicious. The portions are large because I was able to have two full plates and still take a lot home. Just one word of warning: be prepared to suffer if picking the hottest level of spice!

Mine didn't come out with theirs, so it was forgotten. It was busy tonight because not many places were open. We asked about my dish, and she said she would order it and it would take 10-15 minutes. My guys ate their food by the time my dish came. When it was set on the table, it was definitely not what I had in the past. I put one on my plate and it was stuffed with what I later found out from server what it was. She explained I wanted the Chicken Tikki Masala. My guys were already done eating. I said forget it, I was not wanting them to wait another 15 minutes. So I didn't eat tonight. What was brought to me did not look appealing. I waited all day for this meal, It's been a hot minute since we have been here. The guys enjoyed their dishes. My server apologized about the mistake. She was nice, and I'm sure we will return. 12/25/25

The turkey ciabatta was flavorful, had the right amount of meat, cheese & pesto to the bread ratio. The grilled cheese was good, the balsamic drizzle was missing, would have just made it better.. it was good without it. Our barista was focused on completing the orders, which is great for the traveler wanting to get back on the road, not so much for the friendly idle chitchatter! It's all good! Thanks for the great Java, sandwiches & dozen eggs to go! And attached is the current menu... they don't have tot's!

We were there on a Sunday afternoon and the Sunday afternoon knitting club was there knitting and pearling away while they sipped delicious coffee and ate delicacies from the baked goods. We were there for the delicious turkey ciabatta sandwich. The bread is toasted and it just makes the turkey spinach and tomato covered with melted provolone so much more tasty I chatted a while with members of the knitting club while we waited for our sandwich. They're there every Sunday and they knit for people that have cancer who need hats to stay warm. It's a great community up here in Tehachapi. I was impressed with it several years ago when we held a dance recital here this coffee shop seems to be sort of a club of community activity. The only downside is it does take a while to get your order because they're busy, but that sandwich was worth waiting for, and it made the miles from Tehachapi to Mojave speed by
