Wow! What a find on Main Street in Munhall. I happened to stop by and try Pizza King while my son and his buddies were at Kennywood. The place doesn't look like a lot from either the inside or outside, but damn does the pizza deliver. They have a small menu that was on the wall. The guys working were all super friendly and talkative. I got three pieces with sausage. It's square cut with crispy pan crust. The sauce in my opinion was the best part. It was dynamite. The cheese and toppings were great as well. Give this gem in Munhall a go. It is a must. read more

Pizza King is by far my favorite pizza, and the one that I judge all others by. I grew up on this, and it is what I crave when I want a "real" pizza. The sauce is the best, a thick chunky tomato sauce... the cheese is the best--melty, thick and gooey...and the service is always the best. It's... wait for it.... the best! While they were always strictly pizza from as far back as I can remember, they recently started adding some things to the menu--occasional dinners and hoagies on one day a week. They make one of the best Italian hoagies I have ever had. If you can get here for one of those, make sure you try it! Great quality and portion. They can't be beat. read more

One of my most favorite places to go for proper slices of square pizza. Real cheese with a yummy pizza sauce and always fresh toppings. Definitely worth the little trip (5 miles) outside of the city. The crust wasnbaked to prtfrction. not overbooked but light and crispy with just the right amount of sauce. cheese and great toppings. Best pizza around. When I was a sicilian style pie this is my spot. Bonus is they deliver. When you order extra cheese, you know you got extra cheese. A+ highly recommended. Couple drawbacks are, it's cash only, and literally all they do is pizza. Still worth it, highly recommended. read more

First time here 5-20-2021 and it was surprisingly good pizza, I actually would rate the pizza a 4 1/2 star, excellent cheese and sauce and style wise remind me of DiSalla's Pizza (without the spicy sauce kick.) This is good pizza, like the kind my mom used to make. I've lived in Munhall for 5 years and have never come here. The pizza is square, and has a great thin crispy crust, even on the bottom. The shop has one oven, one prep table and a cash register that only takes, well, cash. You order your pizza with the toppings you want and that's it. I love simple places like this. read more

Note: CASH ONLY and no dine-in. Man there's some little cubbyhole pizza places in the Pittsburgh area. This would be one of them. Me and Lady Kay wanted to attempt a pizza crawl in Munhall after finding out about the 7 or so outlets for pizza in this fine neighborhood. It got whittled down to just the 3 on Main Street, which became 2 after one of them appeared to have been replaced by a Chinese restaurant (we could be wrong about that, but that's how it looks). The plan for this crawl (gauntlet?) was to sample a slice at each of the 7, but this evening it was just Pizza King and The Pizza Company. Pizza King wins the duel. It was a square, cruncy crust reminiscent of Beto's or DiCarlo's aside from the fact that the cheese was actually melted. Black olives were our lone chosen topping. They don't put pineapple on pizzas in Munhall if the 2 joints we tried are any kind of indicator, much to the chagrin my little-flighty-one. We were on a budget too and therefore kept toppings to a minimum, leaving out the bacon. I waited for a bit while Kay sat in the car and got into a nice discussion about football and music with the young kid behind the counter and the older gentleman who was waiting on a pie. Then in walked a cop! "Oh I ordered the 10-cut." Whew! lol. I'm tempted to give a 5th star, only because the aforementioned pizza maker, who couldn't have been more than 16, complimented me on my Thin Lizzy shirt. "Nice shirt. Cool, cool band. Shame about Phil Lynott." He had on a Van Halen tee himself. These kids today are all retro and junk. And he knew Thin Lizzy, one of the most unheralded and sweetly melodic hard rock/metal bands ever! The pizza was good and the kids are all right. I can sleep well knowing this. read more

I've eaten this pizza for over 50 years and it's not the same Pizza King pizza. Very disappointing. The sauce tastes different and way too much cheese. If I want extra cheese I'll ask for it. What happened to the simple sauce with the chunks of tomato? That's what made this pizza. The sauce now tastes spicy and the crust seems thicker too. Billy never changed anything when he bought the business from Flip years ago. Billy sold the business in January 2021 and it's under new ownership now. Why change a good thing?? read more

This pizza is horrible. The worst in the triboro. The sauce tastes like chunky grocery store canned stuff, red garlic and tomato water. The dough is the usual twice baked style. Not really Sicilian but the spongy type you see around Pittsburgh. Usually stale and underwhelming. Take your money and get a real Sicilian from IVP! read more
