We drive out from Monroeville just to grab their pies. Located in Squirrel Hill, parking can be a bit of a challenge, but there is a pay-to-park lot across the street tucked behind the businesses. Also, with old school class, Mineo's is cash only. They do have an ATM right in the store - in case you forgot. Dynasty loading - as they now have 4 shops including one directly in the Pittsburgh Airport (check their updated box logos with an airplane flying around!) All day. All year. Always- I would think to give Mineo's five stars, but this order was disappointing. The crust was over floured and lifeless, the cheese was missing the signature flavor pack of herbs, and the toppings were very clumped together under the cheese... but even these nitpicks- this place is a must go to! We ordered three large (and yes, that's a large large) pizzas - mushroom, extra cheese, and pepperoni. They are renowned for their thick layer of cheese with the toppings buried beneath. And this time, all of the pieces were well cut - which is rare. Service was quick. They know how to move through the takeout orders and even if they don't, pull up a seat and enjoy the theater of pizza making that you can witness in the expansive dining area.

I also love ordering a side of seasoned fries and garlic bread to dip into the extra wing sauce!! Their fries and garlic bread are crispy to perfection; you genuinely won't find better anywhere else. I also tried the chicken bacon ranch pizza as per their recommendation, and it was soooo cheesy and yummy! Aside from the food being so delicious, my favorite part about coming here is the sense of community you get. They have couches and TVs where customers love to sit to enjoy their food, and it makes for a super cozy and comfortable environment. I also notice so many regulars who love this restaurant and come back either weekly or daily, and it really shows how great the store's bond is with their customers. The breadsticks were good; they were soft but I wish they'd had a little more seasoning. Would definitely order again - it's a solid meal, and it's close to where we live!
