Every time I come here, I'm amazed how good the pizza is. The oven-baked Italian sub is also fabulous and HUGE. The bread is Mancini's and it's baked so the meat and cheese melt together before the lettuce, tomato, and onion is added. I could eat an Italian hoagie from Aiello's every day for a long time before wanting much else ...

Excellent pizza. The space has been nicely renovated, but it still has the feel of the original shop. All the staff have a particular "we're just making pizza" vibe. You can certainly eat in, but my preference is takeout. The restaurant excels at either. The only detail to note is that this is a cash-only operation, so be prepared. In terms of the actual food, the star of the show is clearly the pizza. I prefer the traditional pizza (i.e., with red sauce). No matter which pizza you order, this is a place that provides a pizza with an excellent crust. Large crumb. Good chew. It's probably the best crust in town. We ordered a series of vegetable toppings, and the result was great. Picking and choosing toppings seems like the best bet for a vegetarian experience. The Aiello's Salad was fine: about what you would expect for a pizza shop salad. The veggie hoagie was nicely flavored, with a good balance of flavor and acidity (from the dressing). The stuffed veggie slice was what it was. We tried it on a whim, and it came out exactly as described: two slices of veggie pizza stuck together. Fine, but not necessary if you're ordering pizza anyway. All told, this is an excellent destination. It's a real Squirrel Hill institution for a reason, and it continues to be worth checking out.

5/31/25 Ate List: Traditional Slice - 8.2 White Pizza Slice - 8.6 So there's a local pizza "rivalry" in Squirrel Hill and you are either team Mineos or Aiellos. After trying these slices, it feels like a rumor started by Mineos to try to be kept in the conversation. They are a cafeteria slice by comparison here. Traditional slice was solid. Thin, delicious, crispy. White pizza was electric. Garlic-y and oily but not overbearing. This is how its done. This is the clear winner. Go here.

Cool set up of a beer shop attached to a pizza place. Decent price and p decent pizza. Good thin crust. Good space. Cash only.

Service was fast and friendly. Lots of seating available. Pizza was good. They have already prepared options and you can order by the slice. We selected our choices and I believe they placed them in the oven to heat up. We ordered the veggie stuffed pizza and a slice of the cheese. Wish the veggie came with a side of a marinara but just personal preference. They crust is good. The only downside was no parking and cash only.

Love the thin crust pizza, the bottom was cooked to perfection! Bottom was crispy but not burnt. Prices are very reasonable but heads up, it's CASH ONLY. Our food came out quickly and staff was helpful. The restaurant was very clean!

Out of all thin crust pizza in Pittsburgh, this is the best. In its fight with Mineo's, Aiello's wins hands down. The sauce is perfect, the crust is perfect, the cheese amount is perfect. I highly recommend getting a large pie and heading over to Schenley for a picnic!

Had the absolute best service today and the staff was amazing. The food was spectacular! Highly recommend

I stumbled upon Aiello's Pizza while walking around Squirrel Hill and was able to try their pizza slices. The people were friendly and the space with clean with a person hand making the pizza in the corner. Their pizza slices are customizable and you can add whatever topping you want on each slice, which I really like. I got two slices of the cheese pizza and added pepperoni and onions. The texture of the pizza itself is a perfect mixture of crisp and soft, which I personally like a lot, but the pizza was bland and lacked flavor even with the pepperoni slices. Overall, this place was good for a quick snack with customizable toppings per slice, but I wish it had more flavor.

Well I'm glad I decided to give this pizza place a try Located right on Murray Ave parking can sometimes be a hassle over here. First the good They have real grape soda with cane sugar I like grape soda I like a grape soda with my pizza that's just me. I was excited about my slice of regular pizza Well this was a baby slice (why so small) Super thin crust not much of an edge /crust like a good pizza should have. It was crispy Almost tasted like a frozen pizza like from a supermarket very bland Maybe the pizza maker had an off day Cashier had trouble understanding me asking for one slice not 3 OR he knew the slice was small and to equal an average slice I would need 3.

Don't go here if you don't have cash, they don't take any type of card. The lady at the front was very rude. I was hoping to try the spot.

Had a couple margarita slices that were disappointing. Maybe a fresh pizza would be better. Atmosphere was not a place to take a first date!

We were staying Shadyside, and therefore looking for something nearby. Urban Tap received really good reviews, so we made a reservation, a few weeks ahead. We arrived just ahead of the scheduled time, and we were seated right away. Once seated, we were warmly greeted by our server, Brooke. We proceeded to place our drink orders, a combination of cocktails and cocktails. I ordered the Peach Hugo Spritz, which was very tasty. We also ordered the breakfast egg rolls, as an appetizer for the table, along with our entrees orders. BLT, chicken and waffles, crab cake Benedict, and I ordered the Cajan avocado Benedict. Also the menu was very kid-friendly. We ordered a side of waffles and fruit for my 4 year old granddaughter. The egg rolls arrived in a timely manner. Options include with or without bacon. We ordered without bacon, and requested turkey bacon on the side (I don't eat pork or beef, so its nice when there is an alternative option). The egg rolls were expertly prepared, coated in everything bagel seasoning, filled with just the right amount of eggs, peppers and onions, accompanied by a Sriracha maple syrup dipping sauce. 3 to an order, we cut each roll into 3 pieces, which was perfect to share. Our entrees arrived a short time later, huge portions, expertly prepared and great presentation. My Cajun Shrimp Benedict was delicious. Plump shrimp, Cajun hollandaise, smashed avocado, sliced tomato, microgreens, and a perfectly poached egg, on top of a fluffy English muffin, accompanied my redskins potato wedges. There were a lots of elements, but the flavors married perfectly. The sentiment around the table was unanimous. All around, and excellent choice, but best of all service, was outstanding! Shout out to Brooke for the warm welcome, and excellent service. Highly recommend, I would absolutely return!

While there is ventilation and it's quite good if I say so myself, when you have multiple people smoking cigarettes as well as cigars, you're bound to smell like smoke when you walk out. It was exactly what my friends were looking for after dinner down the street. The cigars, drinks, were well-priced (although it is cash-only). The laid back vibe and tucked in booths were appreciated because we were in our own little world talking away. I don't have much to say about the bartenders because I didn't really interact with them. I think the only recommendation I have is to put the cigars in a humidor rather than a plastic bin. That was a bit off-putting.

Whether you're looking to get work done with a coffee, wind down with a beer, or let your pup burn off some energy, this is the spot. I stopped in and tried their maple vanilla latte, which was super cozy and comforting--perfectly balanced and not too sweet. I also had a warm muffin that was absolutely delightful. The drinks are crafted with Commonplace Coffee, and there's a rotating selection of prepackaged sandwiches, salads, and baked goods through Catapult Culinary available all day. The space itself is bright, modern, and immaculately clean. You can sit inside or out on the dog-friendly patio, where pups can roam while you relax. Dogs do need to be registered at the front check-in station and must be vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and at least 4 months old. Hound Haus offers daily, monthly, and annual passes--but you don't need to bring a dog to enjoy the vibe. It's a welcoming place for anyone to sip, snack, and socialize (furry friends optional). The owner is incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about creating a space that's both functional and fun. Whether you're a dog owner or just a dog lover, Hound Haus is worth a visit.
