I have never had a flavor be so simple, yet so complex. The seasoning on their chicken is just that, and it is phenomenal. I can see how every sugar addicted American could love this place. I found every single thing I…read moretried to be too sweet, including the reaper rub. Service was pretty good, about what we expected; and the atmosphere was as advertised, bright colors, loud music, lots to look at. HOWEVER! if you like sweet with your hot, this chicken is well marinated, fried extra crispy and cooked to perfection. the crinkle cut fries are fantastic, crisp on the outside and still soft inside, dusted with a seasoning that, for those who like sugar, would be great. I highly recommend this place to the right customer, that customer just isn't me.

First time in here, a pretty good overall experience with just a couple negatives. First off,…read morerestaurant is very clean, employees worked quickly and they do have a small dining area for those of us who like to eat things fresh. I would say this place is mainly geared toward take-out however. My first negative would be that all drinks are in plastic bottles, including tea and lemonade that they appear to be making, and there isn't a recycling depository for dine in patrons. I can understand the sodas, especially if you are primarily doing takeout orders, but a recycling bin for the plastic would be appreciated. On the positive side of things, my po boy was nice and filling. Good amount of shrimp, and a decent amount of crab meat. The mac and cheese for my side was creamy and hot. I think next time I'd just do shrimp on the po boy, as the crab meat didn't make much of a dent featured alongside of it, flavor wise. Price was fair, and I could see myself returning again.

Greensboro has a few locations with much worse service but the service here isn't what I would call good: it's functional and inoffensive. I feel like most Zaxby's don't have any grown ups working on several shifts which I think explains the service you get. The food here is also the most okay of all the Zaxby's we've tried in the local area. There is nothing wrong with it, it just isn't the best you can get from a Zaxby's. This location is close to my house and Zaxby's is better food than McDonalds or Wendy's so we come here a fair amount anyway. Ordering online is pretty easy and they typically get the order right - although I still don't know how many sides of fries are supposed to come with the family meal because it's different every time at every location.

So naturally, I needed fried chicken, but I didn't want to do "the fryin". Through a search, he found Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q. The prices are so reasonable for the massive amount of food you get. The HUGE chicken tenders are juicy, they have great flavor and the breading is like Granny's without killing the roof of your mouth. The baked beans actually have a little pulled pork in them and the sauce was fantastic. The hush puppies were golden brown and crispy on the outside and tender and light on the inside. The white coleslaw was the perfect balance of vinegar and sweet, a little mayo, it had no onions or carrots (Yay!) and was fresh and crunchy. The BBQ was pulled and really flavorful, even without extra sauce. They allow you to choose your sides. We had enough leftover for my full dinner tonight and enough to share with our friend. He also loved it and plans to take his son this week. We also got banana pudding to go YUMMY. -You order at the counter but then they bring your food to the table and actually hand it out. They checked on us twice and will refill your drink. They even brought us To Go boxes and wrapped plasticware. -They have a Health score of 98 and they are earning that. The restaurant and bathrooms are VERY clean. -The women's bathroom has a light switch that says TURN ON IF BATHROOM NEEDS SERVICE. That is an ingenious and convenient way for them to monitor. -You know how the people running the cash registers, will stand with their back to the customer, while they stare through to the kitchen? That's pretty common to fast food places. This restaurant has a sign posted for the workers that says TURN AROUND. I love that! -Every person inside was friendly, helpful and efficient. We will definitely go back!

Lately, though, it feels like the owner or management has stopped paying attention. The food quality has declined, the health inspection score has dropped, and the overall experience just isn't what it used to be. Today was the final straw. I could hear people talking in the kitchen, but even after the door chime sounded when I entered, no one came out to acknowledge me or offer to help. After waiting 10 minutes without being greeted, I left. I genuinely hate writing this because this used to be one of my favorite places. I hope they turn things around, but based on my recent experiences, I can't recommend it anymore.

I decided on the small hibachi chicken & steak. It comes with your choice of rice and veggies. I opted for the fried rice & all the veggies (broccoli, onions, carrots -cashier said zucchini, but there were none in my container). The chicken is precooked and stored on the prep counter, used as orders come through. The steak is the same but more was being cooked as I waited. The rice portions are big, the meats are placed in top of the rice and mixed veggies portioned out of stored container as well. The cook is very meticulous at sorting a certain amount of each vegetable placed in the containers. I do not like undercooked beef, cashier said I could get mine well-done, but I guess it wasn't noted! One piece of steak was pink -partially cooked - but cold in the center. I also got a medium green tea with peach flavor- - SUPERB!!! Would I return? Yes, but I would get something that absolutely must be cooked right at the moment of ordering. P.S. They DO NOT like you taking photos of the food before you receive it!
