Half pepperoni, half bacon, garlic, and mushroom
Justin G.

All vegetarian pizza spot. Great crust, tasty sauce, good flavor. Of all the New York style pizza places in STL, this one is my favorite. Just remind me never to order vegan bacon again. Never again. Favorite dishes: Pepperoni

Wow, I never heard of this place until yesterday. This place is only carry out or eat outside where there are some seatings. There is a small window where you will go to pay and pick up your food. Yesterday I got 4 slices of cashew pepperoni pizza. They were good. I like the crust a lot. The pick up was smooth.

Pizza pizza read all about it! Boy oh boy you won't get double takes or will you as you walk down the street with the large but niche pizza boxes. Lots of vegan and non vegan options! If you think you won't be able to find something, wrong by friend! I enjoyed the pizzas but got mad heart burn from the vegan 'meatz' pizza. The ranch caught me off guard. Dillish. Recommend for an experience and to fill your pizza heart desires!

We ordered this last Friday night! We made our own pizza with vegan sausage, peppers, onion and regular cheese! There was a line at the pick up window, but we ordered ahead of time and was ready within minutes! You can order online and pick up or order at the window. Nice ambiance, relaxed vibe, outdoor seating available other side of post office...

I stopped by Pizza Head after an event on South Grand. I've heard a lot about this place and thought it was a great opportunity to finally try it. This isn't a sit down restaurant. Or at least it was not when I stopped by. You order at the walk up window, and depending on your order, it comes out fairly quickly. I am not vegan or vegetarian, but if I was this would be a great choice. They have vegan pepperoni and cheese. I opted for the dairy cheese slice, this is the only option by the slice that has your traditional cheese. I definitely would have loved some more options like veggies on it, but when you get a slice of pizza and not the entire thing, that's the name of the game. They sell whole pizzas as well, as well as beer. The slice was super delicious! Hot and crispy and has a really good seasoning on it. I was super pleased with the slice and would for sure stop by again.

Foodtruck: 12" Dairy Mozzerella, Sauce, Onion, Bell Pepper

Considering that I'm not a Vegan nor a fan... this was darn good pizza. The Foodtruck was parked on Locust in front of Ash Cigar Lounge and given that I had been enjoying Ash, I had to venture out and grab a bite. Thank goodness that they offer a non-vegan option.. but it is a vegetarian pizza instead. 12" Pizza with Sauce, Dairy Mozzerella, Onions and Bell Peppers. I was told it would only take 5 min, so I hung out right there to wait. Yep, 5 min later my order was ready. Pizza was hot, fresh and very tasty. Some parmesean cheese packets would have been great. Overall, a surprisingly good option.

20" utopian special

I didn't realize this place was only take out until we got there but that's okay! The pizza was delicious and it was the perfect size for four adults. I wanted to try the vegan meat but ended up getting the utopian pizza which is all veggies. It was delicious!! There is outside sitting around the corner from the post office that is the property of pizza head and had 4 large picnic tables. The service was otherwise helpful and patient with us as we asked our questions. They send you a text when your pizza is ready. Will come back again :)

20" white dairy pizza with green peppers and mushrooms

Pizza Head has some of the best pizza I've had. The crust is perfect- nice and thin in the center but with a deliciously doughy edge. Their toppings are all high quality, and the employees have all been really friendly. They only make 20" pies, but they're actually pretty light. Plus whatever you don't finish reheats beautifully in the oven the next day. I've picked up pizza in person many times, and also ordered delivery through Door Dash for a group at work, and the pizza arrived on time and in perfect condition. I was also able to order a vegan pizza, which my vegan colleagues really appreciated! Keep it up, Pizza Head!

20" White pizza with artichoke and spinach
Krista C.

I truly love coming to this pizza place because the pizza is really large and it is also vegan. Don't let that deter you from going because it's actually really delicious! The crust is nice and then the cheese is always delicious. The spinach and artichoke also is really tasty very flavorful. We had a little extra garlic on top. It was perfect. The only downside is you cannot enjoy your pizza inside. So we have to get it to go. So keep that in mind currently when we went in January 2023 no dining services they were seats outside but of course because it's January you don't wanna sit outside.

Red sauce w/ half vegan cashew cheese, 'pepperoni', pineapple, and half vegan mozz shreds, jalapeño, pineapple

Delicious vegan meal! First time ordering! Got it delivery from their website! I ordered two hours before the time I wanted it and scheduled it. They contract out delivery with DoorDash which isn't my fave. Preference is actual delivery drivers from the pizza place like the old days. lol. The dasher arrived 15 mins before the delivery time and the pizza wasn't ready. The pizza wasn't ready until 5 mins after the delivery time so the dasher had to wait 20 mins for my order. A bit poopy for the delivery driver. Also not to mention was late for me but luckily I was fine with whatever. Overall really yummy but four stars because only one size pizza options and not a honestly their premade/specialty pizza options are super lackluster like no I don't want a fake meat lovers pizza, I want a veggie pizza. But to get the at I have to l build my own and pay millions of dollars adding every veggie. And the other option is spinach artichoke? Like I bet it's good but who has ever had that as a pizza??! Give me a veggie deluxe specialty pizza... Also they charge 4 dollars for vegan cheese on a whole pizza, that seems totally fine but then if you get half and half you have to pay 4 dollars twice for the two different vegan cheese options.... It should still be 4 dollars total not 8 because it's the same surface area. But okay good food but just annoying stuff like deliver and ordering and bad options.

Very good very good I love the crust it reminds me of a New York pizza and I would know. And I know pizza I grew up in Chicago and lived in new York for several years. Though I'm not vegan or vegetarian I could eat there meatless pepperoni all the time. The flavors are authentic and they know their way around a pie. The service is friendly and I love the walk up window. You can smell the aroma of brick oven pizza from down the block and there is nice outdoor seating near by. Street parking on Grand or near by side streets. Well worth a visit.

Vegan pineapple sundae

Visiting St. Louis for a few days and was looking for a quick filling snack and came across this place when I searched vegan snacks. I am dairy free but pizza is my favorite food! Very rarely do I come across vegan options for pizza back home and was excited to have found this place. It's a walk up order style place. I got a slice of the specialty pizza, cashew cheese and sausage, finished it before we even made our drive back to the house around the corner 10/10 recommend!! I even tried the vegan pineapple sundae and omg I wish I had more!!!

I enjoyed that quiet space for a bit and the afternoon air after the walk from Cortex made the wait feel intentional rather than inconvenient. Comfortable seating out here and the light breeze with the afternoon light was nice as I cranked out a few Yelp reviews before I spotted other customers going inside. After setting up at the huge table in the corner, I stepped up to the bar where I was warmly greeted. I chose their Fish Fry, which they call a light lager. It was in a huge mug and that worked out just fine for me as it lasted a while. Oh, and some chicken wings. These were tasty buggers. Served quite hot with a rub that was more spice than sauce. Very yummy and the two sauces were perfect accompaniment. Absolutely delicious. Not long after, friends arrived and I shifted from solo laptop time to conversation. It's nice to see how Rockwell handles the flow of customers. Casual, attentive, friendly. Just right for a great brewpub and a great time. They do have a parking lot. I started out with a Raspberry Beret one of their specialty cocktails. It was my favorite vodka, Tito's with Raspberry syrup and lemon. It was shaken, not stirred and severed up like a martini. Prince would have given it a thumbs up. After some intense conversations with my buds, I ordered some food and a beer. I typically get their famous burger with fries or the chicken wings, but I got adventurous and ordered the nachos. When I asked the bartender how they were, he said that's what he was having for dinner and showed me his plate which sold me. It may have only been an appetizer, but it was filling and easy to eat while enjoying more convo. I'm a fan of Avery Brewing in Colorado, so I had their White Rascal as my beer. Rockwell is so close to getting a 5 Star rating from me, but they keep missing the mark on the customer service. It's good, but some of the staff treat older customers differently then those their age. This visit, one of them was cold and had attitude. After a few tips, they warmed up and provided friendly service and actually got chatty. So I think next time, they may just get the bump to 5.

We usually go as a family of 4 (all adults now; although we started to go when the kids were in high school). We love the Lamb Curry (both my sons' favorite), the Beriani, the Qabelli Palau, and Chicken Teekha Masala. The Sambosas are great starters. The chutney they serve with bbq the Naan is a family favorite. To steal a line from Frank's Red Hot Sauce "We put that sh*tuff on everything ". Finally, when we have room (and sometimes even when we don't), we get the rice pudding. The service is usually good, but not necessarily great. It's always personable and genuine; just sometimes a little slower than expected. Also the place (opened circa 2005) is showing its age a bit and needs a little TLC. It's very clean; it just needs a little refreshening in certain high traffic areas. The takeout/delivery business seemed good on the Sunday night we went there, but the in-store business was pretty quiet. However, it was one of those sub-20 degree nights, so I'm hoping that was the reason for the lack of in-person dining. We sat outside , our server was wonderful and they were so helpful and accommodating. First I ordered the Dive Bar Coffee which just wasn't for me so i got the Dottie (with the good crunchy ice) instead and it was wonderful! (They even took the first one off and i didn't even ask, thoughtful. ) Food was delicious. My Hashbrown was delicious and crispy and seasoned and mm. And the salmon was yummy. My date got the baked eggs and loved it as well (they make their bread so will be back just to have bread). We also got the ButterScotch Budino for dessert. As someone who isn't a fan of pudding , this was goooooood. Salty, sweet and crumbling that cookie into it (per their suggestion), worth it. Their menu is seasonal so check before you go, but definitely go.

A small plates restaurant that felt a little Italian. We make reservations and show up to this place that looks like a neighborhood pub. Quaint, in the corner, inviting light shining through medium sized windows. Inside, the vibes were a hybrid of someone's very nice dining room and an old western saloon. I know that's almost nonsensical, but the vibes were good. We felt right at home. Service was spot on. The server was very nice and new the menu pretty well. The food came out tapas style, so when something was ready, it just came right out. I like that. I like the periods where there are so many plates on the table at one time that it's overwhelming. What's what eating is all about. As for the food itself, it was good. I'll give a little blurb on each thing, as not to wear out your eyeballs. Crispy Artichokes (sauce au vert). These were fun and nice and crispy. Don't see artichokes like these very often. The sauce was a little weak, though. Didn't exactly go well with these fried little morsels. 'Nduja Croquetas (bomba rice, spicy prosciutto, fontina, grenada pepper aioli). Wow, now these little flavor bombs cannot be missed. Spicy sausage arancinis with a nice peppery aioli to dip. An intensely flavorful little dish that I loved. Can't find it on the menu, maybe it was seasonal, maybe it was a special, but we had a bone marrow French onion soup that was nice. The soup was good good. Very well developed flavors. The marrow bone was a little sloppy, though, and we got a transverse cut of bone, leaving very little marrow to access. Next were the Mussels (green garlic broth, Spanish vermouth, pickled peppers, spring onions, grilled LF bread). Very well cooked mussels, sitting in a lovely broth to dip your bread in. Ask for extra bread. But do not ask for extra of that sauce. That was really bad sauce. Sauce work seems to be this place's only weak point. Probably the biggest dish of the night, the Bolognese Bianco (Newman Farms pork & mushroom bolognese, bucatini, gremolata, parmigiano reggiano). This was a really nice pasta dish! Love those big, thicc bucatini noodles. Flavorful bolognese, great texture from the gremolata, and just cheesy enough to make this probably the most complete dish of the night. Then finally the Sea Scallops (ramp soubise, morel mushrooms, house-cured pancetta). Scallops were scored and cooked to look like fine art. Light scallops paired with nice umami from the morels and the pancetta, all tied together by that nice soubise. You don't see that very often either. We ended the meal with a Sticky Toffee Pudding (apple & date cake, apple brandy toffee, crème chantilly, marcona almond tuile). Chef's kiss. Such a delicate sponge with a nice date flavor. Then boom, the sweet boozy toffee, the creamy chantilly, the texture from the tuile. Every element helped make this a great dessert to end a great meal. Overall, another very pleasant surprise. This was a very good dinner, and I'll definitely come back if I'm ever in St. Louis again.
