Well, we're officially done with pizza express. I'm so bummed because it used to be our go-to and we recommended them to everyone. We even had them deliver for our daughters birthday last year and everyone raved about it. Things are totally different now. We've picked up pizza a number of times since they changed ownership and haven't had a good experience yet. We kept hoping things would get better and kinks would be worked out. But last night was a total bust. The pizza didn't taste good (and I'm not picky) and the breadsticks were over cooked. Not to mention the salad that could feed maybe one person when it used to serve as a side for 2-3. If all that wasn't bad enough, they've also raised their prices and gotten rid of some of the great deals they used to have. At this point it makes more sense to hit up one of the big chains in town for pizza. Prices are lower and pizza tastes better. New owners recently. We have had their pizza a handful of times and enjoyed it but we really enjoyed it this past time. New owners = even better pizza. The pizza is so good the way remember Pizza Express being I grew up with the one and Paso back in the nineties when they were good and this one taste just as good also work for the one in Paso in high school and the San Luis Obispo one , now Pizza LA Nova, in college and it tastes just as good, I think it's better now way better! 4 mi Quite possibly the worst customer service by Kim and Tariq that I have ever received. I am in the food service industry and would be appalled if one of my team members or manager acted or treated a customer with such irreverence and distain. We ordered a four topping pizza and they forgot to put the sausage on it. When I called and spoke to Kim she said the best she could do is give us two dollars off our next pizza. I explain to her that was unacceptable as I was not going to pay for a pizza that I didn't order. I requested to speak to the manager and she said he was not in the building but would call me back shortly. One and a half hours later I called them back and a gentleman named Tariq got on the phone. I requested he either take the pizza off my credit card or just make me a new one and have it delivered. He refused to do either. He asked me if we had eaten any of the pizza and I told him yes as it was now almost 9:30 PM. He said he was not going to give us a new pizza or give us any money back as we had eaten some of it. We have been loyal customers to Pizza Express for many years and the only place we order a pizza from. However we will never go there again and I will make it a point of encouraging all my friends not to frequent this establishment. Wanted to provide a better description for those readers looking for another pizza option. This location was my go-to spot after living in Atown many years. And I always loved it! I hadn't had in some time but wanted to re-visit as I was tired of the Buy-one get one place. Ordered a standard pepperoni no changes requested. The employee on the phone was very polite and more importantly did not rush through taking my order and was friendly. I ordered at peak time on a Saturday. So kuddos for that. We picked up and pizza was a great price and on time. Upon observation Pizza seemed a bit over cooked, not burnt but definite dark parts on crust and crispier on one side. In my opinion the crust/dough was on the thicker side for a standard pie & unfortunately was uneven Pepperoni was sparse, and very crispy in texture. Cheese to sauce ratio was fine nothing unique about that. Flavor of pizza was good, typical pizza. Not great or stand out, but again I did order a standard pizza. A pie too doughy is not my favorite, so I may have enjoyed more had it not been so thick. Perhaps, next time I will look for another crust option and ask for more pepperoni. We just moved to SLO, and we were looking for our always to go pizza place... We found it! Its really cheap, we paid $9.99 for a large pizza with 4 toppings! It is a really good pizza with fresh ingredients. It is called express for something: we got our pizza in less than 10 min. I would strongly recommend this pizza for delivery or take out. The place is small and although they do offer inside sitting (2 booths and several tables), the ambiance is not that nice for neither a date or getting together with friends :the place is definitely addressed for delivery and take out. They deliver which is great, but they not only deliver pizza, but also their multiple selections of calzones, salads, sandwiches, drinks AND beers.... Yes... BEERS! Tonight we ordered a large specialty pizza from Pizza Express. We also ordered a medium pepperoni, breadsticks and wings. When the food arrived, we were dismayed to find that pepperoni pizza and the breadsticks were burned, and a long brown hair embedded in the pepperoni pizza. Needless to say, we lost our appetites, and called Pizza Express to rectify the situation. We were told that we could return the order for a full refund, about $50. Of course we weren't asking for the $10. tip back, since it wasn't the drivers fault. We understand that accidents happen, however, we'd rather wait longer for the burnt food to be redone, and the hair was very apparent. But since the manager agreed to refund us, we readied the order for return. We had not touched any of it. When the driver returned, she only refunded us $15. for the pepperoni pizza and told us to do as we wished with the rest. So, either the manager lied when she stated we would be refunded by returning the untouched order, or the driver pocketed the unreturned $35. This place was so good! I was sick of the chain pizza places and wanted something different and my daughter wanted chicken tenders. We got a little bit of everything, pizza,wings, salad, and tenders. The tenders were so good! I was expecting frozen deep fried tenders like most places, which we are fine with. But, they are hand breaded and homemade! They came with a lot, and are so good. Salads where good and big and their wings were amazing! You actually got 90% wings Everywhere else that I have gotten wings from in atown is the opposite, 90% drumsticks. They were the meatiest wings and pretty big as well. They are a little pricy but, if you want good quality food it is well worth the price. The yelp deal for $20 for $40 worth of food is outstanding. We got a lot of food for $20, enough for 2 large meals for 2 people. The quality of the food is excellent, pizza was yummy as were the wings. We got a small salad which was very big and full of ingredients. They definitely don't skimp at all. My bf asked for extra sauce and boy did they give us extra! The manager or owner was so nice and came by our table with some free cinnamon stick desserts. Those were also delicious. This is more about the service than the food. You ever been so hungry that you're eventually NOT hungry? Yeah, that happened. I went in about 7:30PM to try their all you can eat deal for $6.99, seems like a pretty good deal. Granted it was pretty busy, so I knew it was a bit of a wait. At around 7:45, I saw the manager(I think he was the manager since he was wearing a different shirt from everyone else) he moved some tickets around and placed some at the beginning of line. A few minutes later, about 25 minutes from when I arrived, I asked about my order and was told it was going to be ready in a few minutes, so I waited. 15 minutes later, I was once again told it was going to be a few more minutes. By this time, about 40 minutes had passed since I first ordered my "all you can eat" pizza. Needless to say, I waited enough and left. No refund, no food, nothing...basically money was taken and no food provided. This was the first time I tried this deal and not sure if its coming to wait apart am hour before you eat, maybe it should be changed to "all you can wait"...and come on a full stomach, you'll be hungry by the time you get your food. read more

Hate to do this, but I have to knock PE down a couple pegs based on my last experience, based on two criteria. 1. I ordered a Pizza for pick-up like I usually do, and I was told 20-25 minutes. From the moment I placed my order to the moment I had the box in my hands, it was 40 minutes. A small annoyance waiting around for 15+ minutes, but enough to deduct a star. 2. I ordered an extra large canadian bacon, shrimp and jalapeno pizza (don't judge me). The candian bacon was cooked fine, but the shrimp and the jalapenos were just short of being burnt to a crisp. Maybe it was the weird combo of toppings that threw them for a loop. It won't stop me from coming back, it's a great value and close to my house, but I probably won't be trying that combo of toppings again, and maybe avoid ordering on a Friday night. read more

Disappointed. Ordered pizza for pick up and they couldn't make items on the menu. Their reason is the manager wasn't in ( Saturday evening) and he's the only one who knows how to make it.
