Had stopped ordering from Pizza Classica years ago because of various issues. Decided to give them another try. I totally regret that. Took well over an hour to deliver a simple order. The pizza was cold and they were unbelievably cheap with the toppings. The calzone I ordered was ridiculously small. I don't know how people give this place a good review. Its terrible. read more

We ordered tonight and got really disappointed. After being a long-time customer we really enjoy pizza Classica. We ordered at 5:45 PM tonight. First of all after they told us it will take 60-120 minutes our food arrived after approximately 180 minutes. The food was entirely cold and everything needed to get heated up. Very very disappointed. We were very hungry and had to take extra time to reheat our food. On top of that, one order was missing. They put it into a different delivery car and the missing order was delivered 30 minutes later by a different driver. The food tasted okay but due its late and cold delivery it didn't tasted as fresh anyone. We will have to look for different Italian spots around because this is unacceptable. read more

The food is good. However, they are deceitful and don't respond to complaints. I bought a pizza for $12.99. With tax, I figured about $14.25. I bought it at the store, so no other charges apply. They charged me $16.28. I sent 3 inquiries from their 'contact us' on their website, not a single answer over a 9 day period. No excuses. . The food is usually very good. However, the restaurant breaks the law when it insists that any debit card is subject to a $ increase (like a credit card). In spite of clearly requesting that no additional "fee" be added when using a debit card, the management insists on the extra charge. Went there with my mom and we ordered pizza. It was not bad. We did enjoy it. I also ordered a split pea soup to go for my grandma who is ill. It was the worst split pea soup. It had not seasoning what's so ever. Kind of like GERBER"S baby food. No salt, no veggies. I could not believe they would even serve that. Very disappointed. The food here is sooo good. It is located in a shopping center on union turnpike. The place is always crowded but they are able to seat you quickly because there is a back room. Free parking is in the shopping center. The front of this restaurant is the pizzeria area. The pizza is very good and have many different varieties. Then the dining area is in the back. They have a ton of panini, pastas, and authentic Italian entrees and the prices are actually pretty reasonable. The service is good although the time waiting for food can be slightly longer then expected. The complimentary bread basket they give has garlic breads and Italian bread with butter. I would most definitely be coming here again! I got the baked lasagna and it had a little spicy kick but it was very delicious. Would definelty recommended the eggplant Parm. This place really is in a strip mall in the middle of nowhere. It's in a completely residential area, it's almost borderline hidden really. The place was renovated not too long ago and it looks good, very clean and modern. The food: Focaccia with grilled portobello, zucchini, carrots, eggplant and fresh mozzarella. Four stars was what I had initially thought to rate Pizza Classico with, based on presentation, delivery time, friendliness of staff. When the delivery arrived, precisely in the window of time they stated, I was thinking that $21.50 for a Sicilian pie with pepperoni was high, $26.00 with the tip, but price never swayed my opinion(s) when the food is really enjoyable. The flavor of the sauce was on par with some of the best non pizza sauces, with the sweet, spicey and tangy mixture. This sauce would work wonderfully on many tomato based Italian dishes. The pepperoni totally coveted every piece on the sizable pie. The slices seemed to slid down my throat, perhaps it was the dough which could have been a little tighter. (perhaps cooked a touch longer) All the makings for a high grade, however the cheese layer was almost completely missing. I was confused, as I initially ordered the pie with pepperoni and extra cheese. The response I received was that I wouldn't be needing it. Lastly, shortly after the heat of the pizza disbursed, slices were nothing like when they were served immediately, in taste or texture. I realize there will be some drop off, but this was a metamorphosis. With so many wonderful menu items, I have little doubt my future visits will result in pure satisfaction. read more

I have another go to pizzeria (Barosa) when I'm in the mood for a thick Sicilian slice and when I'm in the mood for a Grandma slice Pizza Classica is my place to go. I love their Grandma slice, square like a Sicilian slice but thin like a Neapolitan slice. Made with fresh mozzarella garlic and basil this Grandma is fantastic. Holy mother of carb this place is what pasta dreams are made of. Gnocchi Allo Ponte Vecchio (15.95) is a must order!!! I usually prefer long pastas over thicker carbs like gnocchi since they tend to feel a lot heavier but there is no other way to go here. Super creamy sauce and gnocchi that isn't overwhelmingly thick. Calamari is also another must. It has been fresh every time I've ordered it and portions are definitely enough to share for two or more. Kind of out of the way for public transportation but they have ample parking and you can pick up groceries at Stop and Shop after your meal. Can't go wrong! read more

Heard good things about this restaurant from friends and been wanting to try their food for a while. At 11 am on June 19th, I went online and ordered a Margarita and Fried Calamari for my family using their Online ordering system. I received a email confirmation and a email to come as soon as possible, I waited 30 mins anyways before heading over. On the website it said they are open for pick up from 11 AM and 12 Noon for Delivery. Arriving at 11:40 AM the doors were shut with 3 men inside who looked like they were setting up, I politely knocked and told them I had placed an online order and was here to pick it up, none of the men moved and just kept yelling 12 o'clock. The first man shrug me away, finally one of the men (one of their pizza cooks) opened the door, with an attitude he told me to come back at 12 due to covid. I explained to him I had placed an online order at 11 and received a email to come pick up my food as soon as possible. Not anywhere on their website had updated hours and furthermore the system let me place an order during their hour of operation and even confirmed my order. With that being said I had my family in the car and a newborn all ready to eat, so time and planning ahead is really important for us. Without any regard the pizza cook just yelled for me to come back in 20 mins and told me it's not his problem and he was too busy prepping other pizzas for customers who would walk in. So for a customer who already ordered and paid - I had to come back later after 12. To make it worse his attitude made me feel like we were bothering him. Restaurants are able to see orders in the kitchen both coming from online and placed via their FoH. You would think this makes FoH & BoH lives "Seamless". I assume since Covid they were only doing take out and pickup orders - that would give them 3 full months already to fix any issues they would have seen. The least they could of done was let me know in advance that my order wouldn't be ready till after 12 by a simple phone call - as I left my phone number while ordering online. I was not about to leave my family hungry in the car for another 20+ mins so I canceled the order - 10 mins later I saw they opened their doors and served their first walk in customers at 11:50 AM. Really bad look there. Due to this one individual's callous and rude attitude they have tarnished the reputation of this establishment for me and my family as a first time patrons - if your already prepping the food for the day why would it be so hard to put in the oven another order that has already been paid for and that has been processed thru your system? I don't doubt their food is good but I would rather support businesses and employees that care about their customers. After scrolling thru other reviews this seems pretty common to this specific restaurant. Thanks but no thanks. The Quick: Pricey but fantastic Italian food that keeps you going back. The Details: Bring on the meats, cheese, and pasta-- this restaurant serves real Italian restaurant that even my Nonna approves of. The pizza is fantastic with many different specialties slices and pies to fill any one's desires. The chicken or veal entrees are also great... Almost everything has cheese and prosciutto, so you really cannot go wrong. We've never actually eaten at the restaurant but we order to go often and it always pleases even the most pickiest eater. The Damage: The entrees are very pricey. Each meat entree was about $18-- the portions are generous and it comes with Italian bread and a side of pasta (the marinara sauce is delicious). A healthy serving. Mozz sticks are just mozz sticks. Had the lamb ragu fettuccine. If you like Earthy tasting ragu that's homey and delicious, you should try it. Note the lamb is not minced. I've been going to Pizza Classica for a few years now, and it was long overdue for a review. Simply put, It's a great spot for pizza and Italian food. Pizza Classica has survived in a strange location - it's a storefront that faces inward towards a parking garage next to the Stop And Shop on Union Turnpike. The primary reason that they still exist, as far as I'm concerned, is that they serve great food, in very large portions, at low prices. Case in point, the chicken caesar salad slice is bigger than most "normal" slice joint's slices, and is literally overflowing with grilled chicken chunks. It's $4. If you can pry yourself away from that slice, the other types of pies, or the assorted rolls, then hit the pasta dishes, or the huge salads. Everything is fresh, tasty, and cheaper than you would expect it to be. Pizza Classica is among my favorite restaurants in the borough. read more

I have been to this place last many many years ago. Decided to come yesterday as we wanted to bring our son and 5 of his friends for bday lunch. We didn't want any fancy setup or decorations. Just a place to sit down and eat. They were very accommodating. We called to order two pies in advance and we ordered additional items like spaghetti and meatball, salmon spinach salad, and buffalo wings, etc. The pizza itself was quite tasty. Wasn't burned at all and right amount of crust. My spaghetti was al dente and my wife liked her salad. Her having wheat allergy, this place overs a ton of other options. The decor is very pristine and very clean. Highly recommended for sure and parking is free. I am not sure if there is free wifi though. So I've been going here for years.. and today was the last time. We sat down at 5:15pm.. ordered two salads and entrees. Our greeting from the waiter was "hi, what can I get you?" As I paused he said "if you need more time that would be great, I could use it". At 6pm we still didn't get the salads.. no one came to us to give us an update.. at 6:30pm we still didn't have our food. Again, no update. The food eventually came and no one did a 2 minutes check.. or any check at all. The manager came to the area, looked around, and walked away. I'm giving this place a 3 because it's not an average New York pizza parlor, you can either eat pizza and watch sports or go in the back and actually be seated and waited on and order pasta dishes. I've only had pizza from here several different times. The first was after shopping and as we know shopping on an empty stomach always leaves you hungry so I had a plain slice and it was great. The next time I had pizza from here it was delivered to my home (if you are in the range of delivery) you will have to call an hour before your expected delivery time and I believe they will tell you up front that delivery will take some time. The pizza was good no complaints from our guests. Now the final and last time I came here I wasn't starving but I didn't want to skip dinner so I figured my beau and I should pick up slices before heading home. As soon as I saw the Caesar salad slice I knew I wanted it and the beau got a Margherita slice. When we got our slices I was super excited but when I took the first bite of the Cesar salad pizza slice and I regretted it. The chicken was dry as hell, and the sauce was super sweet. I didn't finish my slice and tried to get a few bites of the Margherita one (which was pretty good) but I think I'll stick to getting slices closer to home. read more

Pizza Classica is the best thing to happen to Glendale in my 20+ years of living here! It's my usual spot for dining out close by or ordering to go. The Caesar slice is my favorite and it comes with a mountain of salad, perfectly grilled chicken and cheese baked into the crust. The penne ala vodka and buffalo chicken slice are items I regularly get as well. However, I decided to try a few new things to go this time and was not disappointed! The orecchiette broccoli rabe with sausage is a good choice if you're looking for a lighter pasta dish. Very flavorful and garlicky. Their buffalo wings are crispy and not drenched in sauce, which is okay for me but beware if you're expecting something else. I've ordered from this pizzeria before and they didn't disappointment til today. I ordered a penne alla vodka with grilled chicken and it had to be the worst I've ever received. I got no sauce what's so ever like if I requested that change and the grilled chicken was burned. I feel like the cook scraped the already left over alla vodka sauce and gave it to me. I proceeded to call them at 9:15pm and they didn't answer none of the calls I placed. Mind you they close at 10pm. I was so upset I literally had to order the same thing from another pizzeria. The party of seven our family has been coming here for convenience. The bathrooms are overflowing with garbage. There is scant room for handicapped people. The prices have gotten higher(what hasn't)! I had an appetizer of mushrooms with seafood that was $16.00 + that was six smallest mushrooms and chopped shrimp with bread crumbs. The veal cutlet parmesan was excellent and portions were good. The fried zucchini was a good portion reasonably priced. The option of charging 3% more for using a charge card is an offset of the restaurants expenses but leads to speculation that the total receipts are not being fully reported to taxing authorities? Cash has always been king so a party should be given a 1% reduction for cash... The food took about 15 minutes to come mine an additional10 minutes but it was good.
