We've had their competitors deliver us pizza with all the cheese completely displaced off the crust to one solitary corner of the carboard box or deliver us a pizza with crust so soggy, it has to be eaten like a pizza salad. This is my go to spot. Pizza is wonderful and I love their chicken bacon ranch! Great place to grab something to go or even hangout. A lot of students hangout here, this place is the neighborhood hotspot for kids. I live 3 blocks from Pizza Chef and it was about 10-12 minutes late. It was supposed to be a 45 - 55 minute delivery time that took 67 minutes. No biggie right? Shouldn't be, but my pasta was mushy, probably from being in the container too long. Ordered an extra dressing and that was not there, and they charge extra for it as well. No much 50 cents for the extra dressing but thats bad business. Hadn't ordered for here in a while and I wont be ordering from them again any time soon. And I made the mistake of tipping prior to delivery and well tipping over 20% does not get you better service. read more

If you're a vegetable lover like me, they make an amazing vegetable slice. Plain pizza is really good too. Portions are large and the food is delicious. And I'm picky with my pizza. Only have done take out so I can't comment on service. But every time I've ordered food for pick up it was done within 10 minutes. read more

I'm leaving a review for a second time. These people overcharge you on deliveries. Make sure you have agreed upon the price and have a menu with you, they love surprises when you're hungry and all you want to do is eat. They charged me $35 for a chicken parm hero and 2 slices. read more

For a local pizza place, it's not fine but I won't eat there (too many teenagers for my taste but they need someplace to hang out I suppose). When it comes to pizza, Mr. Nick's is great but since their grade B Dept. of Health inspection, I won't eat there. Sal's of Soho has great panini's and pasta but their pizza is awful! I tried Generico's pizza once and wasn't impressed by the flavorless sauce and very doughy and floppy crust. If you are looking for something other than pizza: their chicken parmigiana is not bad for a pizza place. Thin sliced, lightly breaded fresh chicken with fresh tomato sauce and decent mozzarella. I always tell them to go light on the mozzarella and heavy ont he fresh tomato sauce, and they do. Surprisingly, the spaghetti wasn't cooked to death so for a neighborhood pizza place, it's pretty damn decent. FYI - they also have great spinach rolls that are loaded fresh (ok, so it's probably frozen but who can tell) spinach sautéed with a heavy dose of garlic. They even have decent cheeseburgers. I normally get my meal delivered and have found the guys on the phone and delivery person both polite. One night they forgot my Diet Coke and the driver brought it to me on his next run along with a free order of garlic knots. I will never eat there since it's flooded with kids. But for take out, or delivery, I have never had a problem. read more

The margarita pizza is one of the best. Instead of tomato slices they use a fresh tomato sauce perfectly seasoned with garlic. They are definitely not stingy with the fresh basil either. Absolutely delish! read more

I get pizza here once in a while. For a cheap, quick slice it's not half bad. The thing about this place is that it depends on the TIME you visit. Late on the weekends and just about when school traditionally gets out, its the local hang out for all the high schoolers. If you visit then, prepare yourself to crawl through a sea of ignorance, and find booths where paying customers should sit being occupied by rowdy kids with nothing in front of them. Back when i lived in Riverdale Pizza Chef was my favorite. I recently was back for a visit and decided i would order a delivery. The guy on the phone said it would take 30-45 minutes for a pie with mushrooms and spinach, which is normal. Over an hour later a cold pizza showed up with the wrong toppings. After calling the restaurant they did send another pizza over very quickly but it was undercooked. I would still give them one more chance but i will do that with caution. Feces in your pizza? These guys don't wash their hands and it's totally disgusting. The cash register in behind the counter, and the kitchen is right there, and they go back and forth between handling the dough and taking money, serving food (with bare hands) and then rifling around in a change purse, and back to food, without ever washing in between. I've noticed it on several occasions (including from the fellow who appears to be the manager), and finally spoke with them about it (because they'd just served my my pizza which the cashier touched with his dirty hands), and his response was, precise quote, "whatever, ma'm." Food is just ok but way overpriced. $2.75 for a regular slice? Greedy establishments such as pizza chef are playing us customers for fools. They are also very discourteous and rude. Also when I place orders for delivery they NEVER EVER give me utensils and napkins when I specifically asked for it. The delivery people know this as well and they just play stupid at my door. Salvatores of Soho and Dino's pizza are two places I highly recommend over this joke of a pizzeria. After placing an order and waiting 1.5 hours for delivery we went to pick it up. They hung up on me twice when we inquired about where our order was. When we picked it up it was clear the pizza was sitting for quite a while as it was already cold. They were rude and dismissive as to why it should take so long to deliver a pizza. I used to eat here years ago and rather enjoyed it. But I stopped, not so much because of the pizza, but because of the attitude of the owners. To keep a business, owners need to be nice. The pizza is meh.... definitely nothing special. However, the chicken francese is perfection! Not kidding.. The best I've ever tasted and the portions of their dishes are enough for two people. On a good day, you can smell the pizza while walking around, which almost always draws you in. Pretty good pizza and decently priced.

Salad pizza is really delicious here and the dressing it comes with is mouth watering.

Overall food is good however, the people who work there are extremely rude!! I am going to try Dino's in Riverdale as I hear the food is so much better. I agree that their worker's think we are fools. read more
