Artista Pizza - half pep, half mushroom and pepperoni pizza

Artista Pizza

Okay, I think I have to agree with many of the reviews. This has got to be the best pizza in town…read more This is a passionate crew with quality ingredients creating some of the most authentic Italian pizzas I've had outside of Italy. The dough is so delicious. It has a bit of a sourdoughy twang to it -- evidence of a nice long rise. It is cooked in their wood oven high and quick, and gets wonderful classic charred bits, while maintaining a wonderful fluffy chew. Just perfect. The toppings are also great quality. Simple but top notch. Delicious sauce, not overly sweet or overly seasoned. The pepperoni they use harkens back to a quality pizza diavola you would find in a good restaurant in Rome or northern Italy. It has just the right amount of spice to be a crowd favorite. The plain pepperoni pizza is great, but their "Artista" house pizza is an amazing combination of the pepperoni, ricotta and spicy sausage meat that amps the spice and succulence to greater heights. I believe their sausage meat is their own house craft. I saw them pull a tray of the beautifully blended mix out on a tray and dollop it on the pizza. It's just fantastic. Also great is their Napoli pizza -- a very simple pie almost like a margherita but instead of sauce they use cherry tomatoes, and they add a wallop of garlic to it as well. So simple, so light, so perfect. While waiting for my pizzas to come out I had a very nice conversation with Nick -- the friendly chatty owner, and some locals who travel rather far to get this pizza regularly. Nick has a clear vision for this place and it shows in the way he talks so positively about his business, his chef, and his product. Artista is a bit of a drive away from home but the pizzas held up well. Nick mentioned that if necessary a few minutes back in the oven at 350F would bring it back to life. It wasn't necessary. Our family enjoyed it thoroughly.

The owner, Nick, is super friendly and generous. It is no surprise that they always have plenty of…read morebusiness. The pizza is authentic new york style and delicious. Just make sure you have cash -- if not, they will point you the closest ATM a short walk up the road. I would return here often if I lived in the area.

Vesuvio Pizzeria

Vesuvio Pizzeria

Vesuvio, another name for Vesuvius, Mount Vesuvius…read more Interesting name for a pizzeria. I will enquire next time I visit the meaning of it. Ladies and gentlemen, this is best pizza to day I had outside of Italy. As part of the extended birthday celebration, my anti-carb partner indulged me to choose. Of course pizza, but which one? Vesuvio is a relatively unknown hidden pizza joint among sea of pizza franchises like Panago, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Little Caesar's within the 2 km radius. The flow of foot traffic at Vesuvio is steady where other eateries in the strip mall are asleep in this covid ridden time. We had the #7 carne (prosciutto and pepperoni). Let me tell you, the thickness of the crust was perfect. It's edge was thin. The sauce and cheese were in perfect balance. After four slices, and half a pizza later, I was looking for more. Great service and great price. Definitely worth it. Will be back

Oh man this place is good! I finally cracked and got a third party delivery app because my desire…read moreto try this pizza was verging on completely consumption. The only disappointment was that I sat on my moral high ground instead of just giving into my wanton desire. So far I have eaten two of their pies; Pesto Chicken (self-explanatory ingredients) and the Little Italy (classic Pepperoni). The quality and freshness of the ingredients is visual, for example the Chicken was sliced thick, easy to tell it was from a single breast piece. When you put that sort of care on their over the top good thin crust, you have a perfect combination. The Little Italy was all flavour and not greasy, so satisfying. Next time I order, pretty sure I'm going to try something with less traditional ingredients, which normally is a crap shoot, but I have faith Vesuvio can pull it off....maybe their Bianca (Zucchini, Spinach, Corn, Sun Dried Tomato and Bleu Cheese) or Quatro (Ham, Shrimp, WTF Crab!, Mushroom). Price point is beyond affordable, third party delivery was fast and efficient. Vesuvio is literally a 12/10, now my go to pizza place, 100% recommend.

Pomodoro Pizza - Canadian Pizza with Green Peppers

Pomodoro Pizza

(Hardly prime time). There was no insulated container used by the delivery driver - just the box - so, thusly, the pizza wasn't hot - just slightly warm. The pizza is super dense and heavy. They give you garlic (caesar?) dipping sauce - as the crust is so dense and hard! The bacon was dropped in the centre 8" of the pizza - looked ridiculous Horrible pizza! 1/5 stars!!

We gave this place another try and idk I want to like it but they make it hard. The website didn't…read moreseem to be the place to order as we needed to add and leave off a few ingredients so I called. It took over 7 minutes on the phone to order.... One pizza was a standard pizza asking for one item to be left off. That caused confusion. The other two were just build your own. I would say the topping and then a completely different topping would be said by the person on the phone. I finally thought it was straight and even had them read all the orders back to me. And I added all on sesame seed crusts which is an extra charge. What could go wrong? Well the standard pizza where I asked for one topping to be left off was a fail. They still put it on. Good thing it wasn't an allergy. The other two pizzas I think they got right. However the sesame seed crusts? Non existent then I noticed sesame seeds had been sprinkled all over the top of all the pizzas. What ? So weird. Finally like last time we arrived on time for pick up and like others have said the pizza was almost cold- And I didn't see the itemized bill but it seemed to be about $15 more than I had planned. Well back on the hunt for a pizza place
