For your Basic Betty's, the Original is a solid choice. If you're wildin' like me then get the saucy Yangnyeom, which has a sweet and tangy taste with a bit of a kick. Korean fried chicken is nothing without all the sides. Opting for fries because it was cheat day, I got the yam fries and cauliflower fries. They were bomb in their own individual way. Yam fries resemble your traditional fries, while the cauliflowers were uniquely delicious. Atmosphere is great with a few quirks here and there. I found the fries in the mini shopping carts a riot. They have other noteworthy forms of presentation so make sure you order different things - the onion ring stack was definitely pleasing to the eye! What a gem! Nice people, great service and the chicken is out of this world! Ordered 4 piece thigh original (this is more like 8 pieces), we ordered the yangnyeom sauce on the side and the ganjang chicken. Sides we ordered were the cauliflower fries, kimchi and pickled daikon. Our favourite was the ganjang chicken. This is boneless and crispy and the sauce is a sweet soy but not very soy like. Either way it was delicious. The pickled daikon was a nice bite in between the two different types of chicken. I would totally come back and wish this was close to home!! read more

I don't like K(entucky)FC, sorry.. i prefer churches but there are none close by.. so then I found lees, I was pretty happy about that.. But then... I found NANDA! and I'm happy I did. Well this chicken took us on a trip to yum town!!! Hubby, me and our 2 year old picky eater toddler just scarfed down the extra crispy half chicken and tators. We just arrived in town late after a long day of travel and staying at a hotel - hubby went out to find us food and what a lucky find! The extra crispy coating is ahhhhmazing! The chicken is so juicy! The tators were really good too and not dried out like most places. Both were cooked fresh for us even tho it was late. We could tell it hadn't been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. After every bite, our son said 'more' lol. Great prices too! read more

Best fried chicken in Nanaimo! We usually order the crispy chicken for take out and it travels well and doesn't get soggy. It's also not greasy which is a huge plus! We haven't dined in because of covid, but the restaurant set up is very cute! read more

My son and I are Korean Chicken experts. We have had the very best from our Korean Grandma and from our travels to Korea and throughout the world. NANDA succeeded in providing some of the bast chicken we have ever tasted. We split the waffle and chicken dish and half a chicken cooked Korean fried chicken style. Lured by the multitudinous reviews on their website after a relatively short existence, we lunched here recently. A somewhat quirky spot, but comfortable and friendly. Hands down the best fried chicken we've tasted in years. Tried both the crispy and my favourite Yangnyom chicken and were hugely impressed by both. Beware the Yangnyom sauce - it is so addictive I was tempted to return for dinner. Will be on our regular rotation, no question. read more

Fantastic little family run Korean chicken joint! Amazing authentic Korean sauce on the chicken, medium spicy, not too hot, some places make their Korean chicken too hot but this is great. Cauliflower is an amazing side, like a heavier style tempura, no cheese or filler, just a cauliflower flouret fried in a light batter. Even the white meat pieces were incredibly juicy. My husband has been waiting forever to try this restaurant after seeing all reviews . We did take out today and had the crispy chicken with sweet and spicy dipping sauce and it was so delicious. Loved the crunch on the chicken and then you dip it in the sauce and it takes it to another level of sweet and spicy. Couldn't get enough and will gladly go back for more. Pricing is reasonable too. I checked this place out yesterday. When I went in I discovered this was a different style of chicken restaurant. Definitely not KFC. Nanda offers Korean style fried chicken. And it is very, very good. The chicken was moist, tender and so tasty. They offer several different types of fried chicken. I tried the one with the sweet/spicy sauce. So good! A little pricy but great value. I ordered the half chicken and had enough left over to take home for a second meal. I'm going back to try the other styles they offer. My new go-to place for fried chicken in Nanaimo. The staff are very friendly as well. read more
