We were in town for a long weekend. Came for some hot food/soup type meal as it was raining when we arrived. The service is quick, and food was good and there were plenty of seats when we came. This place has a fast food vibe, but the staff are very friendly and quick. The salad rolls are mostly noodles and rice with ham which is a bit odd. They don't give you a side of greens for the pho they add it directly in for you which is also unusual. The Bahn mi was good, but the veggies were a bit soggy. read more

The spring roll was perfectly crispy and the meats were flavorful and yummy. They have two gender-neutral bathrooms that were nice and clean too. Great service and staff but the pork salad roll was mainly just noodles and a piece of lettuce. A very cute and very clean well run place. The flavor of my chicken, peanut, Thai basil soup was a little different that I'm used to. My dad ordered a vegetarian tofu soup. This was our first time getting takeout from Lam. We ordered the chicken and pork combo and our daughter ordered the chicken and rice. Hands down the best part of the meal was the spring roll. 1 star for that. 1 more star for fast service. But it's easy now to know why it was so fast.... I was disappointed with how little meat there was. Especially considering we paid $14. There was $2 worth of meet, and some iceberg lettuce with carrot shreds and sprouts. Then noodles/rice. With such a small menu offering you have an opportunity to do what you DO offer really well - but you didn't. Missed the mark. read more

We have visited this restaurant 3 times now and every time it gives us food worthy of a 5-star performance. Mind you it's all been for us to pick-up. They have it down to a fine art. The place is very very clean the food is outstanding and the web site gives you the best way of ordering your food online. They will even bring it out to your car if you order online. To top it off my Dad was not feeling very well and he said their soup fixed him up and made him better. Don't eat here if you care about the environment or your tastebuds. Parksville's newest Vietnamese restaurant - we were excited to try their pho on a cold day. First off, don't expect a restaurant, this place is set-up like a fast food joint for people who have never had pho before. Everything is served in plastic. A tiny plastic pho bowl, that's about half the size of a small pho at a normal Vietnamese restaurant, a plastic pho spoon, and all of the sauces are on a side counter where you have to put them in little plastic containers and take them to your table. Typically pho is served with lime, basil and bean sprouts - you have to ask for them or they aren't offered. and guess what they're brought to you in? a single use container! It is so hard to put chilli oil and hoisin sauce on each table and to serve pho with its condiments. Don't expect tea to be served at your table either. Then there's the pho itself. Avid pho lovers, we've had pho at many restaurants and it's all about the quality of the broth. My first thought when I tried the broth is - this tastes like instant broth powder. Whether or not they simmer their stock for hours or if they mix instant flavour with hot water, I don't know. But either way, it's not good. Anyway, everything about this experience was disappointing. Save your hard-earned dollars and eat somewhere else. Hopefully the owners will step-up and improve their environmental impact, because this fast food model isn't cutting it. read more
