The server told me there were no seats available even though I could see one seat at the bar/window. Disappointed, I asked if I could order to-go and was directed to the owner behind the till. I told her that I really enjoyed the burger I'd had on my first visit so wanted to order the same thing. 'THAT IS NOT THE RIGHT BURGER, START OVER!!' I was completely taken aback by the condescending tone. Once my order was entered, she handed me the payment terminal so I could pay and walked away. When she returned, she didn't look at me, instead focused on the payment terminal. Then she looked at me and hollered "NO TIP!! SERIOUSLY!! After we put you in front of all these other people!" This was said in front of the entire restaurant which was completely embarrassing and humiliating. I was totally shocked! As someone who has worked in restaurants and tourism around the world I always tip - even on take-out orders!! The exception is when I get bad service. How would I have known that I was 'put in front of other customers?' I don't work there and it's irrelevant! TIPPING IS DISCRETIONARY, especially on a take-out order. A prudent, professional owner wouldn't comment if a guest didn't tip - or, would ask if there was a problem with the service. The burgers might be top-tier, but the owner's rude behavior makes this a zero-star experience

I started with the flavorful lemon merengue martini. Yum! The wine selection was pleasing, and we able to order both a chardonnay and a cabernet. My husband had the potato leek soup and I enjoyed the stuffed mushroom caps as our appetizers. They were both delicious! For dinner, he had the special of the day - stuffed chicken with Mashed potatoes and vegetables. The chicken was perfection and the mashed potatoes were incredible. I had the seafood crepe with garlic bread and vegetables. I'm so glad I tried this! It was rich and savory, without feeling too heavy. To finish things off, we shared the sticky date cake - a dessert that is a must-try. It's clear that they take great pride in their food, beverages and service. Other than recommending every item we ordered, I'd also suggest making a reservation ahead of time since this is a small restaurant. You won't be disappointed dining at Chameleons!

I usually find that if the fish is salmon they overcook it and it tends to be dry, but this was perfect. They even gave us an extra piece of cod.

We were actually camping at Rathtrevor Provincial Park. The food was outstanding: we started with these panko crusted white cheddar cheese balls sprinkled with Parmesan cheese--crispy, gooey and yummy. I had a Guinness on tap which was one of the freshest I had ever had and not a bit bitter. The server (who was super friendly and knowledgeable) steered me to the creamy seafood chowder which was filled with salmon, halibut, scallops, prawns and clams and not at all salty .
