Mom was reminiscing about some British restaurant that used to exist somewhere on the North Shore…read moreso I started Googling to see if I could find another place that might serve British food. Google told me about Queens Cross Neighbourhood Pub so we made a spontaneous decision to come and check this place out for our dinner. Mom ordered Fish n Chips, my daughter ordered a Caesar Salad and I ordered a Classic Queens Mac, minus the bacon. Honestly, I wasn't very hungry. I sort of wish I'd just ordered a Caesar Salad like my daughter, or even just shared her salad with her. Originally, my intention was to order light like her. However, when I found myself in the restaurant...it just didn't feel right to order a salad. How often do we find ourselves inside a British restaurant? Caesar salad just didn't seem like the right thing to order, especially not when my daughter was already ordering it. I felt like I needed to order something different so I could try more of the menu. Hence...I ended up with Classic Queens Mac. I ate about half of it, and took the rest home. It came with two triangular pieces of bread on top. The bread was tasty but honestly...I have troubles understanding why restaurants like to serve bread with pasta dishes. Unless it's a small serving of pasta, it just doesn't make sense to me cuz pasta is a carbohydrate...it's a very filling food already. I was so thankful though that my daughter wanted to eat one of the pieces of bread, so that left me with just one piece to eat. I tried a few pieces of the "chips" from my mom's Fish n Chips. Wasn't too impressed but then again, maybe I should have tried it sooner when it was hot. The fries had cooled down already by the time I tried. My Classic Queens Mac had plenty of cheese pull to it and I loved that they put tomatoes into it. I was also happy that they were able to accommodate my request to make the Classic Queens Mac without bacon. Some of their Happy Hour eats look very appealing so maybe we'd try to come here for a Happy Hour sometime. Wish they'd add a Sticky Toffee Pudding to their Dessert section!

I usually have pretty low expectations for bar food because it's often very greasy and heavy, but…read morethis place completely changed my mind. I stopped by to watch the Canada game a few days ago, and I immediately loved the atmosphere. The bar had a cozy and welcoming vibe. I sat at the bar, and the service was warm and attentive. I also noticed they have a small patio in the back, which looks like the perfect spot to enjoy a meal on a summer day. I ordered the chicken burger with a kale salad instead of fries. The chicken was crispy and juicy, the sauce was delicious, and everything came together on a soft, fresh bun. I also appreciated that the burger wasn't oversized - it was just the right portion. The kale salad was equally impressive. It was fresh and lightly dressed. I had such a great time enjoying my meal while watching the game. If you're looking for a comfortable spot to catch a sporting event, especially with a group of three or four people, I would absolutely recommend this place.

The place…read moreis decorated with SLAM magazine covers and signed jerseys, and has a true sports bar feel to it. Furthermore, I feel like a place like this is what Vancouver needs and otherwise lacks: a gathering place for diehard NBA fans in cheer and analyze games together. I've appreciated the service each time I've been to Courtside - staff find a good balance between letting you enjoy the game while also being available (but not pushy) if you want to order more food or drinks. I had a burger and fries at Courtside and found the meal to be decent, however, not spectacular - I think the main attraction is still the atmosphere the place provides

The everyday burger didn't really stand out to me, the classic cheeseburger tasted like a gourmet McD's cheeseburger, and the fries were dry. The burger buns and patties were quite large. Nothing stood out to us to indicate that these were gourmet burgers or unique besides the burger size. Even though I love burgers in general, it didn't really hit the spot. Food was fine. Would I go back? Probably not.
