I got invited to go out to Langley for a hangout & chicken wings afternoon. I'll admit, I was a wee bit hesitant due to my past wings experience. I've found the wings in Metro Vancouver to be quite underwhelming - dry, tasteless, undercooked, just plain sadness in the mouth to be honest. But rest assured my friend said as he drove us out (an hour from Vancouver) there - "I wouldn't drive out all this way unless they were real good." Indeed they most definitely were a hit! Wow was I pleasantly surprised. Wild Wing is a throwback feel ol skool pub. The decor takes you back a bit, seating is comfortable, the lay out is good & there are several TVs hanging on the walls for you to watch - the big games. There's plenty galore in the menu for wings via a selection of 101 flavours. I really enjoyed the Buffalo Mixer & Honey Garlic flavours. I ordered take out and got two ordered of bonless wings. I ate a bite and noticed it was extremely chewy. I cut into all the wings and they were completely raw. We ordered 3 different flavours of wings (take-out). The menu had a CRAZY HUGE selection of flavours to pick from, which was neat. However, the wings themselves were kinda average. Not amazing, but if you're craving chicken wings, it'll suffice. The most disappointing part though was we ordered one of the spicy flavours (I believe it was 3* spicy not the 4* one, so just a step down from the supposed max), and it was honestly just mild at best even though I don't have a high spicy tolerance. I was looking forward to something super spicy and that was a letdown. Normally this is a great place to dine. However a recent policy change has made me reconsider ever going again. We were told by the server that we would not be allowed to take any left overs with us as carry out. Food we paid for we could not take. What? A bit greasy and salty for such a large portion. I thought my wing selections were pretty good, I tried the Maui waui (pineapple/curry) and the Chipotle Honey, both were good flavours. I went for a paint nite event that was being held there last night. My mom and I split an order of boneless wings with garlic Parmesan fries and the spinach artichoke dip appetizer. We went fairly hungry and planned to have to place a second order. But when the food arrived it was a decent sized portion, the boneless chicken wings give you more bang for your buck. There were so many different wing flavour options and they have Monday deal for $10 boneless wings with fries. If it was solely based on food I'd give it 3 stars. My gf and I finally decided to check out wild wings. Expectations were low since we're not fan of the other "Wings" franchises. Ty was our server. We thought she was great. She was very helpful, cheerful and attentive. We asked for a dry spicy recommendation for the wings. One of her options was Southern Heat. Pretty tasty and best of all, different than the standard flavours. We also chose the bbq with pineapple wings. Their bbq sauce was delicious, however, the pineapple was served on the side as sort of a dipping sauce....thank goodness it was on the side....not a taste we liked. It was made with carribean jerk sauce so ask for a taste before you order. Glad to hear all their spices and sauces are all made by their Ontario based company.....not your store bought standards. Oh, and the gar par dressing on the caesar salad was very flavourful. We both thought it was great. We will be coming back to try some more menu items and new flavours. I ate here tonight with my daughter after a long day of traveling from the US. I thought the decor was nice and the staff were friendly and attentive. Food was not the greatest but it got the job done. The reason I gave this place two stars is because I asked before paying if they accepted American dollars, they told me yes. (If they had said no i had other forms of payment). I gave them a $100USD bill for an approximate $30CAD bill. They returned with $70CAD change but at the current exchange rate my 100USD would be equivalent to $127CAD. It wasn't until later I realized how off this was so basically they got a 100% tip. Always great food whether we dine in or get takeout. Consistently delicious chicken wings, sauces, appys and hot dogs! My boyfriend and I like to try different wing flavours each time and so far so good! My fav is the Garlic Parmesan (GarPar), they are amazing! I had the fried macaroni and cheese, because I love it at the Cheesecake Factory. Well, here, they use Kraft Dinner to make them. Uck. I also had the chorizo poutine, which was just as bad. We were greeted by the owners and promptly seated. The owners are very welcoming. We asked for the daily specials and recommendations. We decided to try the Thai chili chicken. My wife had the honey garlic wings. Our order arrived quickly and was very tasty and flavorful. We've been to several restaurants around the area and we can honestly say that Wild Wing Langley has the juiciest tasting wings. They've recently added a large screen television and movie projector with an even larger screen. All day sports and entertainment with food and drink specials. My partner and I love love love wings! We had visited the Wild Wing location off King George Hwy and had a fantastic experience so we thought we would try the Langley location. It was the worst service I had ever received! They were short staffed, so we were trying to be understanding. It took 20 minutes to receive our drinks and over an hour to receive our food. We sat there with our empty drink cups watching as three different groups of guests came in and sat themselves at the booth infront of our table. They sat there for over 10 minutes without any service! We continued to watch as each of them got up and left. What horrible service! I've been here a few times. I've never been impressed with their entrees and appys. Too be honest, just go to Montanas. Food quality and bang for your buck is better there. But the wings are pretty decent. There is over 100 flavours which is great for the adventurous. The waitresses can only explain so much. But I would like them to have more descriptions on the wings. I do appreciate the 1-6 scale of hotness, but that only goes so far... The breaded wings are dope, as well as the boneless. If you want a big serving and are hungry get the boneless. First time coming here tonight and arrived 90 minutes before close. The posted hours of operation on Sunday are that the establishment closes at midnight. I walked in and the server greeted me with a forced smile that made it seem I wasn't welcome. My wife and I got food poisoning from here and in calling to inform them the "manager" informed us that because all the food is preprepared and frozen it is impossible to get food poisoning from their establishment. The owner and her husband were behind the bar, they are very friendly and social. You can tell they are very passionate about there business. No drink specials, over priced regular specials (6.99 boneless wings, 2.99 pop/3.50 ice tea - {mandatory & no refills on ice tea}, and then $1 for a dip+ with specials I did not receive celery or carrots = 10.98 when a regular pound is only 10.99) food is sub par at best and comes out at all different times making it hard for a family to dine together.
