We stopped in intending to order the pizza, soup and salad bar but our visit happened to be at a lull, so we ordered our own pizza and I did ask for one trip to the salad bar. The best part of our visit was our server, Odin. He was attentive, without being smothering. The salad bar was really fresh and plentiful. We liked the crispy crust on the pizza, but we thought the sauce was pretty bland so we had to add parmesan and red pepper flakes to try to jazz it up (italian seasoning would have been appreciated if they aren't going to give pizza sauce options like they do for crust). read more

Co-worker and I found this place on a recommendation from someone. Adjoined to a bowling alley in downtown Tomah. Friendly group, service was really good. Co-worker ordered veggie pizza, I got pepperoni/onion. Both were fresh made, came out hot and a small was enough for lunch and a large snack later. I'd imagine this is pace is busy on weekends when more people are bowling, it was still fairly busy for the lunch crowd. Pizza was good, did not try anything else. read more

Expensive, but pretty good food. You want a pizza, they make it totally your way, right down to how they cut it. Soup, salad, Calzones, Sandwiches, pasta, virtually any common Italian or Italian-American food item can be had here if you ask the right person. They encourage you to indulge. Don't go if you are on a diet. I think it puts Pizza Hut to shame, and that's saying a lot. I'd compare it to Pizza Ranch, but a little smaller-scale. read more

I think the pizza is great. I have only received delivery and have never had any issue. Order has been correct every time, and always brings plates, Parmesan and peppers. Dropping a star to 3. Went there and ordered a cheeseburger. Maybe it was my fault as it was Friday and it is Wisconsin so fish fry reigns, but it's a burger. Tookna tad to come out but I saw at first it was some frozen patty but real beef. BUT that's where my excitement ended. I had a feeling it was a hockey puck...aka WAY overcooked. I've been here many many times. The food is always really good. The only thing that stopped me from giving a 5 is the service can be a hit or miss. I've had a few times where you wait awhile for a refill on your drink or the pizza takes quite a bit to get out on to the lunch buffet. The panini's, pasta, and calzones are all great! When we stop in town, we like to go for the lunch buffet. The buffet includes: 2 delicious homemade soups, a huge salad bar with plenty of toppings and homemade salad dressings, and finally the different pizzas are cut into party style pieces to enjoy. They also include a dessert pizza and the menu is available during lunch and dinner hours. The food has always tasted fresh, no complaints there. The restaurant is attached to the bar and bowling ally. They offer a large party room out too, and some event catering. Pizones is right down town Tomah, so you can't miss it if visiting in the area. Very disappointed, ordered to go food for delivery and everything came smashed! The pizza was burnt on top and raw on the bottom, the breaded mushrooms had a side of ranch smashed in the box and they were extremely soggy. The pasta we ordered was cold and full of unsettled oil instantly my children complained of stomach aches, we threw everything in the garbage will not be ordering from them again!!! Our waitress was great and so was the owner, unfortunately the food was not. Maybe I should've went with a pizza but I got spaghetti with meatballs in meat sauce and a cheesy soup. Pizones features attractive matching wooden decor suitable for birthdays and teenage dates. Tabletops are supposedly fashioned from the remains of bowling lanes in the attached ally. Unfortunately, White Russians are not on the menu, but wine selections are inexplicably posted on every table. My unsophisticated eye was immediately attracted to the the $8.99 appetizer sampler, which includes five (5) varieties of deep fried goodness, and two optional sauces (more for $0.30). Fries, onion rings, cheese curds, chicken tenders, and chicken wings. "I wonder if they have hot wings?" I muttered to my companions. "We don't have hot wings," remarked the disinterested waitress, who was apparently practicing for the DMV. They also didn't have Dr Pepper--according to the menu--but Pizones was willing to accommodate with cans and optional cups of ice. The food was voluminous, especially the man-eating slices of bread. I had the Pizone burger, which is something like a half pound hamburger covered with cheesesteak-like mixed cheese and peppers. It included potato chips and was only $5.50. My companions got a meatball sandwich and an Italian beef--which also resembled a cheesesteak (that is, it had cheese and peppers). Each sandwich was served on a special hugh jazz Pizones baguette, approximately the size of an exceptionally dry and flavorless football. Everything on the menu was less than $10 except for pizzas, which do seem to satisfy multiple dinners. Therefore, Pizones has an excellent carbohydrate-to-dollar ratio. Still, I think I'll try the "famous" pizza at Casey's General Store next time I'm in Tomah. read more

Went there yesterday for the pizza buffet. I eat there 1-2 times a week. Usually lunch for 3 for the pizza buffet with drinks is at or around 50 bucks. I have no problem spending 50 bucks for lunch. But I went there on Thursday to grab the the soup and salad, pizza buffet for lunch. I look and see the pepperoni and sausage pizzas. I thought I would order the marguerite or the chicken aldredo pizza like I did last week. The waitress, an older woman I seen working out front and said would it be possible? She stated, we have pizzas coming out. But I will ask, then grumbled and walked into the back. Then I hear the kitchen staff making comment about the pizza order. Then she said those pizzas will no longer be on the buffet. I said just last week they had them on the buffet, when did this change? She then said they don't do those pizzas. I them put my plate with lettuce on the top of the salad bar and left. I will no longer patronize this place. I have patronized this place faithfully for 12 years. I wonder about the owner cares about the customers with off and on rules that change based upon what staff is working. To bad, I will take my business somewhere else. read more

This review is for their delivery on July 10th 2016. We were on the Amtrak train riding from Whitefish, MT to Chicago, IL. It was about noon and we did not want to eat the train food. I called Pizones about 45 minutes before their operating hours and person on the phone was kind enough to take my order. We ordered a few pizza's and told them that we are on the train and the train will stop only for a few minutes so the delivery guy will need to wait by the train tracks. The train was actually a few minutes early and I saw the delivery guy just pulling up and walking towards the train. Just make sure you have the exact amount ready as there will be no time to get your change from the delivery guy. The Pizza was really hot and way better than the train food. we also bought some extra pizza as we knew there would be a few hungry eyes looking at us on the train. read more

Ordered a chicken wrap with grilled chicken lettuce tomato and onion and received breaded chicken with only onions. Have a very severe dairy allergy so specifically stated the need for a dairy free wrap. The staff assured me the breading was dairy free but i was still skeptical. Called the manager at home and he called his staff and they proceeded to tell him that they weren't 100 percent sure. A life and death situation is not something to overlook. The burgers are super good, the staff is always friendly and the delivery is prompt. I have a few coworkers that order delivery from there on a pretty regular basis and their food always looks fantastic. Next time I will have to try the taco salad. That looked amazing! Ordered chicken tenders and waffle fries, fries showed up soggy and cold and the chicken was dry and cold. I rarely write negative reviews but we ordered a pizza from Pizones and I have to say it was one of the worst pizzas I have ever had. The only good thing I can say is the people were nice, it was ready when we arrived to pick it up and we didn't get sick from it. In fairness, we ordered half Hawaiian, half BBQ chicken and it was on a Sunday near closing time so maybe ingredients were running low, but it just didn't taste like anything ...BBQ sauce was scarce, as were pineapples and crust was unappealing. read more

Tonight was the 3rd or 4th time I have ordered a delivery order from this restaurant and unfortunately, it will be my last. When placing my order that came up to $22 and some change, I requested mayo, mustard and catsup on the build s burger item offered on their online menu. The young lady taking my order informed me that they do not put condiments on the burger; they only put the lettuce tomato, onion etc., but they could put packets in the bag. I asked her to go ahead and put catsup, mustard and mayo on side as she explained. Within the timeframe they stated I received my order. However, there were no condiments...not even catsup for the fries! I immediately called them while scurrying looking in my drawers for catsup, mayo and mustard. The lady I spoke to apologized and offered to send driver back out with those items. That didn't sound like a proper fix seeing that we are not dining in where a server could just walk a few feet and quickly grab those condiments in under 90 seconds. told her no, that we were ready to eat now and could she please just discount my next purchase. She placed me on hold and about a minute later a lady named. Brittany got on the line [i guess she was the supervisor]. I explained to Brittany the situation and she said that catsup, mustard and mayo are complimentary...I wasn't charged for them, so, she could send her driver back with the missing items. Appalled at the notion, I told her that we were ready to eat NOW! She continued to hold this position when I asked her was that her position and she said yes. I hung up the phone and proceeded to add catsup mustard and mayo [thank God we had some] and we sat down to eat. The food was decent, but not enjoyable because of the service. Brittany's logic made no sense - if you mess up an order - regardless of if the customer is charged for it or not - it is addressed as a mistake on the part of the establishment. Whether it's a high end restaurant or the local Taco Bell, the establishment always offer some kind of future discount, a free soda.....I mean SOMETHING as a result of that error. Brittany made it sound like it was a small matter, which reflects poorly on this restaurant. But a mistake when money is being exchanged for a service should always be addressed no matter of how small the matter may seem. And the mere fact that she made it sound like it was not important was really insulting. The icing on the cake with this ordeal was when about 10 minutes after we were done eating, there is a knock on the door. It was the delivery guy with a bag of condiments. I told him that we were done eating. So, we were supposed to wait 30-40 minutes for the delivery of condiments. Wow, how petty can you be. So, I cannot recommend this establishment. When service is bad or the lack of willingness to accept responsibility is a deal breaker for me. So done at your own risk. read more

So, let me start by say, I used to love Pizones. After not being able to eat there for about a year, the place has gone down hill. My boyfriend and I decided to stop for the pizza buffet around 12:30. We go there and got seated and started with asking for drinks. I ordered water and my boyfriend, Pepsi. We went up for our food and started with salad bar. When we got back to our table there were two waters but no pepsi, okay, no big deal. She forgot a drink. Oh well. So we went on with our meal only to fine that the eggs for the salad as well as the salad itself tasted awful! The eggs were sitting for too long, you could tell. The salad must have been too close to the onions because the lettuce itself was bitter with a slight taste of onion. It must have been sitting too close to the onions for too long. The bitter taste was almost like the taste of unwashed lettuce. So we moved on to the pizza. I got the breadstick pizza and pepperoni as well as a slice of the dessert pizza. Where do I start? The dessert pizza was cold. The pepperoni pizza was really chewy, must have been sitting a while. The breadsticks, oh the breadsticks. I took one bite and started chewing to find something rock hard in it. After spitting it out, then throwing up in the bathroom (Im pregnant so it defiantly killed the taste for me.) I returned and asked my boyfriend to get me some chicken noodle soup, knowing I needed to eat something. He comes back with the soup and the waitress comes and asks if he wanted more water. He said yes, and she nodded before walking off. A few minutes later she walks in again and forgot his drink AGAIN. I started eating the soup, it tasted like canned chicken noodle soup I could buy at the store for a dollar. I push it to the side ready to go home since Im not feeling well so we asked for the check. Sat there and watched as she walked in and out helping 3 other tables but not bringing us the check. So we went up to the counter to pay so we can just go home. It was $16 something and we gave her a $20 bill. After waiting a few seconds we ask "Can we have our change please?" She responds with "What? No tip?" Im sorry, I normally tip really well but this was just awful. She forgot about us 3 times and the food was awful. No, no tip. I would have tipped if we would have gotten our drinks at all or even our bill when asked for it. I will not be returning, not now, not ever. read more
