My husband, in-laws and I stopped here for lunch during our bike ride on the Sparta-Elroy trail. We arrive after standard lunch time and the place was packed, granted there are only about 12 tables. Instead of making us wait for an open table they suggested we share an 8 top table with a group of 2, which was fine. The building itself was beautiful and well maintained. It was quite smoky from the grill. Also the service was slow despite there only being 12 tables, but they certainly acknowledged this and offered free beverages. I got a cheeseburger and fries, which really hit the spot after our ride. The rest of our group seemed to enjoy their food. There is also a cute mercantile just around the corner to explore.

Awesome little place close to the Elroy-Sparta Tunnel Trail. My son and stopped in for breakfast, great coffee, biscuits & gravy and lumberjack special (kind of like a haystack). Very friendly staff. We'll be back!

Great food with an original homecooked style to each dish! Stop out if you want to escape the monotony of eating out in town.

Under-seasoned and overcooked. Homemade - I don't think so. Greatly disappointed and definitely not worth the drive.

Excellent service, the prime rib on Saturday is great the hickory nut pie (it's like pecan pie but with hickory nuts) was awesome.

We both had the two piece haddock, one with a baked potato and one with potato pancakes. Fish was great with what seemed to be a cracker and or cornmeal crust... very nice. You don't see home made potato pancakes on a lot of menus, it's a really nice change up. Btw the 2-piece fish fry was $9... there was also a three and four piece option as well as a Blue Gill and a couple of shrimp specials. I also had a small bowl of the house made clam chowder - wowza. The clam chowder often runs out by 5PM or so we were told. You've been warned! Also did I mention, clearly not yet, but the $5 old fashioneds - giant sized. One of the owners, Sue greeted us. She was so friendly, as were the rest of staff. Check out the local joints... when you do you'll find joints like Tuesday's.

I had the basic burger (no cheese) and asked for sauted onions which they accommodated. The burger also came with lettuce and tomato if you desired (and pickle which I would never). I chose the crinkle fries as my side but batter fried fries, onion rings and tots were also available. The bartender was the cook and she did a great job. Perfect quick stop.
