Thanks Linda, wonderful Waitress. As always Enjoyed our Table by the Christmas Tree. Wonderful Food & Drink Fantastic Salad & Soup Bar. Bringing an out of town guest for a Steak Dinner in a couple weeks. "Happy New Year's to all." Thank You

Visiting Tomah are for work this week. Came in Monday evening and had the prime rib/shrimp special. EXCELLENT!! So good back again here tonight (Wednesday). Had the 20 oz ribeye and shrimp and steak bruschetta for an appetizer. Phenomenal and can't say enough good things about the service and food. Lounge area is great to sit in and mingle with the locals too Will be back to the area next year for a month of work. Jax's will definitely be my go to several times. Week for my meals!!!

What a nice addition to Tomah. Dined here with family and friends while visiting back in my hometown. We all enjoyed our meal! Most dinners come with a side salad and bread basket, choice of side. The drink menu was spot on and the steaks looked amazing! I had the fish which was good as well.

We had a private Anniversary party at Jac's Steakhouse even allowed for booking on a day they were not open for business! It was outstanding. Food was great, atmosphere and space were the perfect setting to celebrate! Owners are accommodating and creative. Even met us there to decorate before hand and made a menu that worked for the whole party. Check out these desserts!!

Hands down the best restaurant in the Sparta/Tomah area. Finally a place that offers more than just the standard WI restaurant fare of deep fried frozen appetizers, burgers and Cod. The seafood was what was the most impressive here. We went for Valentine's Day and got the special. 2 ribeyes, a massive 1 1/2 pound lobster tail, Portabella mushroom appetizer, salad bar with lobster bisque, baked potato, asparagus, and turtle crunch cake. The 2 of us ate until we were stuffed and still took home enough for 2 more meals each. The lobster tail was a Florida/Caribbean style lobster vs Maine and it was the largest I've ever seen. The picture doesn't do it justice. The portabella mushroom appetizer was fantastic and I would/will go there for that alone. We will be making reservations again soon to try more things from the menu.

The food was great and excellent service! I'm not a big fan of the old fashioned with brandy though.

Service was awful. Wine was a 4-ounce pour. Salad bar was very skimpy. And the steak was meh. Not going back.

The service was excellent and the gluten free cod was very good (but overpriced)…read more We also had the tenderloin tips, they were okay and extremely overpriced based on the portion size. The salad bar was depressing- end of life salad (starting to turn brown) and the soup had separated in the pot and even with mixing, was not coming back together. On the good side the dining room atmosphere is nice and was clean.

This experience was so unique in how terrible it is that I spent hours reading the Google reviews…read more What do I find out? The owner was the mayor of Tomah! A conspiracy abounds! I legit thought I was being pranked by a kitchen nightmares spin-off. I had to look up the owner and learn more. Who is the man who thought coleslaw should go on nachos? Who is brave enough to offer high end prices and put out frozen boxed food with insane flavor combinations nobody asked for? Who thought a driving instructor turned mayor should be the town chef? There are three things that should have given us red flags and the sense to leave 1. A ridiculously large menu you can't do everything well and if you sell everything from a poke bowl to Mexican to Italian you cannot execute on 100's of menu items well 2. An empty restaurant during lunch rush time 3. A newer build without any character I cannot explain to you how surprised I was when Mexican street corn nachos came out with brown dollops with a kernel or two of corn? No shredded cheese and questionably no cheese at all? The orange liquid on top could be cheese. I asked the server what the brown substance was and she said she had no idea and looked very embarrassed. Thankfully they took it away and removed it from my bill. The presentation was similar to nachos I have served after drinking for 8 hours in college and putting whatever I had in the fridge on some yellow corn tortilla chips. As a side note, the coleslaw was fluorescent green. I ordered a broasted chicken sandwich (because of course they offer full broasted chicken meals next to pizzas, pastas, steaks, lobster, Asian bowls, and egg rolls) The sweet potato fries looked like they ran off the Cisco truck and dropped themselves into the dirtiest fryer I have ever seen. The fries were inedible. It was toxic and I feared for what the state of my stomach was going to be in several hours. The chicken tasted of the same dirty taste like their grill hasn't been cleaned since the mayoral election was lost. My poor server couldn't bear to ask me how the food was when she saw the one bite out of the sandwich and the plate pushed to the end of the table. I fear she hit her quota of comped food for the day and couldn't take yet another plate back to the kitchen. The French dip had the same "off" taste and I started to rack my brain as to what is happening back there. Could their freezer have broken and the food spoiled? But no, they really served those nachos without blinking an eye. Maybe they could taste like that for real? I saw a male going in and out of the kitchen. Could it have been our esteemed former mayor? If he knew about the returned appetizer he certainly didn't come to inquire which may indicate that complaints are more of an every day fare. Our barely touched food sat on the table as I hastily drank another beer to cure my rumbling tummy. Our server asked if we wanted to go boxes and seemed unsurprised when we said no. She didn't seem to dare ask how things were for fear we would give a real answer. Another unsuspecting family from out of town showed up and out of 200 available seating options they were seated next to us in the eerily empty dining room. We could hear their gasp when the nachos were dropped like a bomb on their table. I only wish I could have warned them... Soon they too left a table full of untouched food and quietly declined to go boxes. I felt so bad for our server that I didn't complain again about the sandwich after the nacho fiasco. After my Google review investigation and in depth search of the political history of Tomah, WI, I realized this whole restaurant is a scam. Foolish out of towners stop by off the interstate for food and are too polite to complain. The owner charges 50 percent more than the food is worth to cover those who do complain. The servers get paid well because the guests feel so bad for them. Now Mr. Mayor can impress his citizens with his fancy restaurant. I can only guess political bribes are traded for 5 star reviews.

I had the absolute pleasure of being served by Kim at Tap House twenty recently, and let me tell…read moreyou, this woman deserves a medal--or at least a trophy the size of my appetizer platter! From the moment we sat down, Kim burst onto the scene like a superhero in a "Restaurant Rescue" movie. Her menu knowledge is impressive. I asked her for recommendations, and she made suggestions like she was guiding me through a culinary choose-your-own-adventure book. "You could go with the salmon, or you could take a walk on the wild side and try the fish tacos," she said, winking like she was sharing a state secret. Guess which option I went with? That's right, the spicy tacos! Throughout the meal, Kim was like an ever-vigilant waiter ninja--appearing just when we needed her, whether it was for more condiments, a drink refill, or a much-needed pep talk about our life choices (which, yes, she absolutely gave)! Her humor (she's hilarious with a great laugh and smile) and wit made for such delightful banter; if I had a dollar for every laugh she gave us, I'd be able to pay for my next five meals. And let's not forget her ability to balance all the plates like she's in a circus act--seriously, someone get this woman a show on Broadway! She even expertly dodged a rogue pretzel that my friend attempted to throw across the table (don't ask) without missing a beat. So, if you find yourself at Tap house Twenty , do yourself a favor and ask for Kim. Not only will you get fantastic food, but you'll also leave with a stomach sore from laughing! Kim, you're a culinary queen and a comedy legend--thank you for making our night unforgettable!

We ordered various items off the menu the chicken wings, a vegetable pizza, Ruben sandwich, a chicken sandwich, a burger, nachos, grilled cheese, salmon, chicken Alfredo, several milk shakes, and a ribeye steak. Most of the items came with French fries which were ok at best. We were not impressed at all with the chicken sandwich. The burger was good but too small for the bun so we took the top of the bun off the burger so the meat to bun ratio would balanced out. The star of the show was the ribeye steak it had an excellent char, it was juicy, seasoned well and the temperature on the cook was spot on!!! Our wait staff was amazing and took care of our needs. I would return if I lived in the neighborhood.

Essentially I personally base it on the likelihood of a return visit and I try to be stingy with 5 star reviews since they should be "special" in my eyes. Price/Value also play a role obviously but there are $ and $$$$ littered across my grading scale. 5 stars - "I'll go out of my way" (approx 6 % of my reviews) 4 stars- "If I was in the area I'd go here and would recommend", (approx 38% of my reviews) 3 stars "Maybe if was nearby", (approx 37% of my reviews) 2 stars -"Would likely not return, Only if you want to go", (approx 16% of my reviews) 1 star -"No thanks, even if I was hungry", (approx. 3 % of my reviews)
