The food was great and excellent service! I'm not a big fan of the old fashioned with brandy though.

We missed the "Old Salad Bar" in the Lounge. It was so awesome. More selections, bigger plates. Two Soup pot selections. Bigger rolls and Hot. Having the Salad Bar in the Table area and near entrance- very congested, #1 with people trying to enjoy their meal, lots of walking back and forth to Salad Bar plus the Servers. Its not quiet & pleasant. Bad Choice in our opinion. Drinks the "75" had no sparkles in it as a waitress told us all about it. High price for Gin & Proseco in slim wine glass. Use a bigger stemmed glass. 3 sips it's gone. Our Appetizer Cheese Curds, Fish Cheeks very good. Our daughter from Franksville enjoyed her Shrimp. Pork Chops/Ribs excellent. Baked potatoe was suppose to be loaded "wasn't " so I did get ask and eventually got it. My Husbands $40 Filet seriously looked like a flattened hamburger. Good but not the Filet thick, piece, we know are truly Fillet. Disappointing to all of us. We're Seniors so been around the block. I was in a wheel cart, fractured hip cant walk so 2nd Table from Hostess. Very Loud Very distracted by the people going back and forth to the Salad Bar:( Owner, rethink that Salad Bar location Or put in the back of the room) Going to any SupperClub we dress for it. Not TShirts but clean nice looking dress clothes. It's a shame to see the "picnic casual" at your refined SupperClub. Maybe in the Lounge area but not in the Restaurant. Old School should never die. Not sure going forward if we'll be back. Many other new SupperClubs around. We have frequented 5 other times, not happy with the Salad Bar change we so talked up. Staff very friendly which is Great. Visiting Tomah are for work this week. Came in Monday evening and had the prime rib/shrimp special. EXCELLENT!! So good back again here tonight (Wednesday). Had the 20 oz ribeye and shrimp and steak bruschetta for an appetizer. Phenomenal and can't say enough good things about the service and food. Lounge area is great to sit in and mingle with the locals too Will be back to the area next year for a month of work. Jax's will definitely be my go to several times. Week for my meals!!! read more

Went with a large group. The waitress handled us great. The steak was awesome. Cooked to perfection. The Baby parmigian potatoes were i nice change up. Had an old fashioned that was perfect as well. They had a live band playing in the other room that ended up for us being great volume. Nice touch, but we could still hold a conversation. What a nice addition to Tomah. Dined here with family and friends while visiting back in my hometown. We all enjoyed our meal! Most dinners come with a side salad and bread basket, choice of side. We had a private Anniversary party at Jac's Steakhouse even allowed for booking on a day they were not open for business! It was outstanding. Food was great, atmosphere and space were the perfect setting to celebrate! Owners are accommodating and creative. Hands down the best restaurant in the Sparta/Tomah area. Finally a place that offers more than just the standard WI restaurant fare of deep fried frozen appetizers, burgers and Cod. The seafood was what was the most impressive here. We went for Valentine's Day and got the special. 2 ribeyes, a massive 1 1/2 pound lobster tail, Portabella mushroom appetizer, salad bar with lobster bisque, baked potato, asparagus, and turtle crunch cake. The 2 of us ate until we were stuffed and still took home enough for 2 more meals each. The lobster tail was a Florida/Caribbean style lobster vs Maine and it was the largest I've ever seen. The picture doesn't do it justice. The portabella mushroom appetizer was fantastic and I would/will go there for that alone. We will be making reservations again soon to try more things from the menu. read more

We tried this place mostly due to my in-laws wanting us to try it while we were in town, but it was definitely worth it. The duck wontons and walleye cheeks were delicious! I ordered the pork ribeye mushroom primavera special with house salad and garlic bread sticks, as I wasn't entirely sure that I wanted a run-of-the-mill steak dinner, but after seeing everyone else's steak, I almost regretted it until I had a bite of my own! The pork was so juicy and tender, the pasta a little over for my taste but still good, and the broccoli, mushrooms and sauce were amazing! Our waitress was great for how big a group we had. My only hangup would be the lack of changing table in the restroom, and I'd suggest an eventual update to furniture/high chair. But in terms of sit down restaurants in the vicinity, this is definitely one of, if not THE best. read more

Wow. Was very impressed. The salad bar had the best broccoli slaw! Also great green leaf lettuce & home-made soup & more. I had Argentine shrimp & Parmesan baby potatoes as a side & was huge & very good. My husband was also impressed with his meal & we took a lot home. I had the 12 oz. Ribeye. Medium and every bite I had to remove from my mouth and put on plate it was disgusting. My bake potato was rock hard. My boyfriend had mashed potatoes and they tasted sweet. His steak wasn't as bad but still had pieces he couldn't eat. The biggest waste of $130.00 including tip. Our Pepsi and waitress Danielle were the best part. Disappointing . read more

We have passed this place dozens of times but just never stopped...our bad. The FISH FRY sign caught my wife's eye so we decided to stop. We could not have enjoyed our meals more! The fish was great. I had the deep fried, wife had baked. Both were very good. I had the parmesan potatoes and she had potato pancakes. Also included was a salad bar which was not huge, but very adequate. Soup and chili as well as dinner roles rounded out the salad on an ICE COLD PLATE! Never saw that before, but it kept our salads nice and crisp! Linda was our server and was a delight. Attentive but not overbearing. Kept us supplied with whatever we needed! The place is huge, divided into two areas. One half nicely appointed dining room was homey but not overbearing. The other half had a very nice lounge with additional tables for dining. The place was immaculate. Parking in their lot can handle a decent number of cars, but would recommend getting there early as the place fills quickly on friday fish night. Drinks were very good and welled served. We called ahead ,as it was our 30th anniversary and wanted a special steak dinner from Tomah's #1 Steakhouse. Our table was there, but we had to wait for 1 1/2 hours with no meal. Finally received our ribeye steak, which was thin and uneatable because of all of the gristle. What a nightmare; we came to have a special dinner for our anniversary; not a nasty steak full of gristle!! We were so sad. We said the steak was garbage. We were told to never come again, and if we didn't leave, they would call the authorities. It was appalling how the staff treated 80 + year old patrons. However our server, Linda, was kind and did her job to the best of her ability under the circumstances. Before we left, we left Linda a $20 tip for her service. read more

Had fish fry (walleye) very good. Bar is also good, several options on Old Fashions.

We had reservations on Friday night at 715 for 4 adults and 2 children. We were seated in the lounge area by the pool table. After ordering drinks, we were informed that it would an hour before our fish order would be filled We left. Maybe buy another fryer or not seat groups of 20 on Friday nites. Thought this would have been a good place to eat. read more

terrible service , ordered drinks which we did not like, ordered raspberry lemonade instead received raspberry tea, charged for both, server never showed us to the included salad bar which was very sparse, the rejected drinks were left at our table until we insisted they be removed, so slow bringing the check that we were forced to go to the front to retrieve it , gratuity automatically added bringing the bill for two steak dinners to $170. Went with my sister last night. Have been many times in the past and all was well. This time I noticed there were more choices on the menu but the prices were significantly higher. But ok. Ordered drinks but neither of us liked them so we told the waitress and each ordered something else. She didn't take away the other drinks and took forever to bring the new ones. My sister had ordered a raspberry lemonaid, got a raspberry ice tea. After lots more waiting it was switched out. We waited some more and went to the salad bar where there were no plates. Went back to the table, waited some more and she finally brought small (1 trip only) plates. Our appetizer was tiny and cost 18$. It got there quite awhile after we were finished with our tiny salads. They were out of baked potatoes so we got the baby potatoes with parmesan and parsely, and this turned out to be dry boiled potatoes sprinkled with parmesan and dry parsely. She eventually brought take home containers and then we waited another 20 minutes for our bill, then walked to the front to ask for it as we had been finished when she boxed the remains. The bill was 175.00 for 2 steak dinners and an appetizer with 26 $ tacked on for the tip. Though I generally overtip, we had agreed that we weren't going to leave a tip this time. I have very much enjoyed Jac's in the past but last night was the last time I will ever go there. read more

I don't really care to eat here again, even though the steak was good. Oh and the cheese spread and crackers. It just takes way way too long to get our food. The salad bar was small, didn't have many options but I did like the raspberry vinegarette. The server was on top of her game, very nice. Inside wasn't anything fancy but it was clean. Was looking forward to a nice relaxing evening and dinner after a long work week. My husband got the T-bone steak and I got the one trip to the soup and salad bar as my main meal. My husband had to ask for a plate so he could get a salad before his steak came. I asked for my plate to come when my husband's entree was delivered. When my plate for my 'salad' dinner came it was a 3"X3" plate. I asked why I didn't get a normal size plate, waitress just said that is the size you get. For a pre-meal salad it's fine but for my one trip I would have liked to have spread my salad out a little bit. The soup looked absolutely watered down for potato soup. When my husband cut into his 1/4" t-bone it was not cooked to the temp he wanted. the tenderloin side was over done and the other side was pretty rare. We were never asked how the meal was. We will not be back, worst steakhouse we have ever been to. read more
