We were heading up North to Eau Claire and decided to stop off somewhere for lunch. I picked Tomah and found this restaurant in Yelp. It was just a few miles off our path. So glad we tried it out. My husband said it was the best General Tao chicken he has ever had. His egg drop soup was so-so. I had off the lunch menu the 3 delicacies which consisted of shrimp, beef and chicken in a savory sauce. I opted for the chicken wing for my appetizer and the hot and sour soup. A bowl of crispy noodles was set on the table to accompany the soups. My soup was good but I've had better. My chicken wing was exceptional and so was my main entree. Restaurant is very clean and women's bathroom is huge. We would not hesitate to come back here if we are passing by at the right lunch/dinner time. read more

Disgusting food, all three of us who went there got food poisoning and hated the food. We all got different items as well. They also got my order wrong... Not sure why this place has such high reviews. They are still closed for COVID, you can only make phone orders for pick up. They do give you plenty of food though. I just ordered food for takeout which i have done a few times before and suspect to be satisfied. Im leaving a review because the person who i assume was waiting for food next to me was actually homeless--he was fairly dressed so this was not expected. i was taken aback when a middle aged cook came out and said they made him food and told him to stay warm. They even gave him utensils. This was not a advertising or marketing campaign. This is a community business. read more

Admittedly, I am not a fan of Chinese food, but the better half loves it. So finding something that I would eat narrowed the menu to just a few items. I THOUGHT I ordered mandarin CHICKEN on a stick. What I got was BEEF on a stick which resembled and was described by the server, to be JERKY like. Together with a cute little grill thing that was supposed to be used to heat up the beef. I also had white rice. The beef was the consistency of wet shoe leather that wore me out chewing it. And it seemed to be quite fatty. Again, not a big Chinese food eater, but I have standards. I haven't been to the Peking Restaurant in years. I was craving it so bad. We went to visit my hometown Tomah from the twin cities, and this is by far still my favorite Chinese place to eat at. The staff is all friendly, and all of the food is amazing. The last time I visited was before the renovation. The inside and back area are absolutely beautiful! We ordered the general tso chicken, orange chicken, and Hong Kong chicken. It included broccoli, soup, and steamed rice. We also ordered the crab rangoon and dumplings. They both were so good. We were passing through the area and decided to give this place a try for lunch. We thought it was a good sign that on a Sunday afternoon they were busy. Place looks very nice on the inside and the staff was very friendly. My wife got the Kong Po Shrimp and I got the Special Low Mein. Both of our dishes were very tasty, and the portion size was good. Only odd thing was that they brought our food out at different times, but no big deal. If we are ever in the area we would go back. read more

I ate here once while I was staying in Tomah for 2 1/2 weeks in April. This place was highly recommended from a local guy I was working with while in the area. It wasn't good. I had sesame chicken, chicken fried rice and two beef egg rolls. The sesame chicken ended up having a bones it it... well, I am like 100% sure it was bones. More than one "nugget" of chicken had some really hard stuff in it that felt like it almost broke my teeth. The flavor was decent. The chicken fried rice had a bunch of undercooked rice in it but the taste was decent. The beef egg rolls were just not good. They had no flavor and were really dry. I would skip this place if I was ever in the area again (not likely). read more

Best Chinese in Tomah, hands down. Skip the fake Chinese at the buffet and sit down in class, with gourmet, authentic Chinese. The pork egg rolls are excellent, and the lunch specials are well priced, plentiful, and delicious. read more

Ambiance was awesome. My first sit down Chinese restaurant and they did great. The service was great and the food came out fast and delicious. I got a whole spread of food for $20. I got the Peking special dinner (see pics below). Everything was delicious. I cannot stress that enough. Definitely your go-to Chinese in Tomah. Questionable quality of cooking. We had received inaccurate take-out order on 1230pm-1pm, March 3, 2023. We ordered 2 supposedly vegetarian meals 1) Mao Pao Tofu and 2) Vegetables Lomein. We've been eating at Peking for many years and they never disappoint. We normally eat in but decided not to at our last visit. We ordered for two adults and I picked up the food. It was done 5 minutes earlier than expected and when I got home we ate right away. The order was accurate and the food was hot. I looked in my favorite tool yelp and there was this place. As you walk in you immediately feel like you're in any good, authentic Chinese restaurant in N.Y.C, San Francisco or L.A. The place is nicely and traditionally decorated, service is terrific, very nice friendly and attentive staff. As far as restaurants in Tomah, Wisconsin go, this is, by far, one of the best places to eat. It is on the main high street, the prices are CHEAP ($7 for a main dish), and the waitresses are really friendly. They are also open til 10, which is a bonus, cause most of the restaurants are only open until 9. The food was as "authentic" as I would imagine it would get in rural wisoncisin, but I give it 4 stars cause it was fairly tasty and the service was top noch! We got the orange chicken (way too sweat), but the beef and spring onlion was pretty good, conisdering our other options in the area. And yes... they use an entire onion as a garnish, and then ask us if we would like tot ake it home? That was pretty random, lol! read more

I got the General's Tso Chicken and there was barely any breading on it and after a couple chews, the taste of the sauce drops and its like chewing on plain chicken.
