We've had their service since 2013. Truly awful internet service. If you have to use satellite do it, or use an unlimited cellular service plan as you will rarely get the speeds they advertise. Goes completely down or to a crawl at least once a week but closer to once a day. When you have an issue they usually blame it on your equipment or something out of their control such as trees or wind. Once we bought a brand new $200 router because they said ours was junk, we took that modem to our office location to test with Cox, surprise surprise it worked wonderfully and we from then on used that "broken" router at the office, still works to this day. If they send out a technician be prepared to spend $100 for them to tweak something only to have the same issues a few days later. It became so ridiculous that I quit calling to complain and would just switch to my phone's hotspot. One day I had finally had enough, paying over $200 a month and still having to use my cellular hotspot for the hundredth time that month... called to cancel. I was told I would incur a $400 cancellation fee and another $300+ if we failed to return the equipment by a certain date unless I wanted to pay them $75 to come get their failing equipment. Well it rained and rained and rained, my husband didn't feel safe crawling on our slick high roof, so he called to have them come get their crap and we'd suffer the $75 fee. Tech on the phone said no problem and they would even wave the $75 fee and call to set up an appointment to come get it. Few weeks later, never got a call, equipment is still on our roof, and a bill arrives for over $700 marked "Past Due." Quite honestly, I was furious. 4+ years of dealing with this company my anger is at its boiling over point! The new story as of today is that a technician will be calling to schedule and we won't incur the $75 fee, equipment fee will be removed as soon as possible, and they're "looking into" reducing the $400 cancellation fee. Husband explained that we feel like we got duped into signing up for "faster speeds" and thus extending out our contract when we: 1 never got any noticeable increase in speeds and 2 never got more reliable service. If you don't believe me, just do a quick google search of Pixius and see the vast amount of google reviews saying basically the same things I am here. I don't normally like to write bad reviews on here, I typically like to use Yelp to praise businesses that rightfully deserve a good review. Pixius does not, it's shocking they're still in business but I guess they have a monopoly in some locations. Luckily, we have other options at our location. I would advise anyone looking at Pixius to fully investigate other options, especially unlimited cellular services; do not buy into the claims their speeds will be faster than even a throttled cellular hotspot.
-- update: Pixius called to say they are waving the $400 cancellation fee, equipment removal is scheduled for next week and we shouldn't incur any removal fee, hoping this all ends smoothly and we can move on read more
