Cox Communications in Wichita, KS, is to be avoided at all costs. Over the last twelve months, I…read morehave suffered through both weekly and daily, and now hourly to constant outages. I work from home and must have reliable internet. I'm looking for another option as fast as I can I've been with Cox for over thirty years. So I don't take leaving them lightly. But I also do not take the fact that they are no longer reliable and more expensive than their competition. They are also sneaky. They raise your rate without telling you, and they do this yearly. I confess they have not done this to me for two years this time. I used to have to call once a year to renegotiate my monthly rate. I have missed numerous Zoom meetings due to their outages. Over the last year, I have lost in the neighborhood of $1500 because of their constant and predictable outages. I'm writing this now on a text pad that does not require the Internet. I look at my television and see "Something went wrong." My Wi-Fi is working fine on my network, but I am not on the Internet. This has been going on for twelve hours that I'm aware of --- and that is just today. It was also every day this week and last week. I understand that all utilities have issues. But they are rare for all but Cox. With Cox, it is a way of life. And you will not be reimbursed for lost time or money. You will pay Cox even though you get nothing for your money. We now have Earthlink in Wichita and ATT. Those are fiber, which is a better offering. The bad part is that you must sign a 12-month contract. So you are stuck. That's what these companies like to do. They give you a low price for one or two years, and then when you are off contract, they raise your price. It is rather crooked. I'm assuming they are all like that, but I don't know for sure. I know Cox and Earthlink are. I've not talked with ATT yet. But friends in Wichita or the Wichita area, I warn you, don't use Cox Communications for the Internet. They are vultures who take your money and give you the most painful headache you've ever had. We now have options. And remember, you "can" get out of a contract. ATT will pay your current provider your cancellation fee and give you a free install. ATT and Earthlink are both rated higher in surveys and feedback than Cox, which is dead last.

horrible company. Everyone you speak to at Cox is from the Philippines, can't understand a thing…read more they know nothing. I'm looking really hard for a new service. Verizon is not in my area yet.

Let me start by saying I have been a Cox customer for 20+ years now, and this company's customer…read moreservice has gone downhill significantly in the last few years. These idiots have my cel phone number to text me as well as my e-mail address (mich**.**ell@cox.net), and they could not be bothered with a notification that they would be performing scheduled maintenance on 4.18.2025 at 12:00 AM. I only found out after contacting their "Bot" via text message and asking for a Live Agent. After "speaking" (texting) with this idiot (probably not even in this country), the only thing they could offer in compensation for their own stupidity was a $3 credit on my next bill, which is already too high ($3 off $100, nice, right). I originally asked for a year of free service, knowing I would not get it, and eventually asked for just 1 month, but even that was too much, so I get $3 for crappy service and no notice that my Internet would be down. If you are looking for Internet service, look elsewhere, as I intend to do.
