Waiter Johnny was excellent, explained the menu, got us going with drinks, very attentive. Appreciated him! I was surprised at the multiple number of steak options. I got a ribeye, it was cooked right and delicious. I definitely recommend Texas Roadhouse in Poughkeepsie.

For restaurants; weekends and dinner hours are the money makers for the waitstaff $$$. That's when you schedule your best people. A very young maître d' sat us in a closed section, near the main entrance. We Found this out later. Which was why our server Nicole seemed to forget we were there. When we unenrolled our silverware, all of us had dirty knives and forks, two of us had bread dishes that should've been inspected before they were set on the table. There's no excuse for that. Our Server Nicole took our orders for Medium Rare steaks. However, was constantly disappearing. It took an hour to get our steaks from the kitchen to us at the table. Which was brought to us by someone else. What was a real slap in the face was two of us had raw steaks. Steaks any rarer they could still moo. AKA black & blue. We had to flag down the waitress that was covering the other booths to find our assigned server. She was doing an excellent job with the other people seated in that area. TOO bad we didn't get her for a shower; I was almost tempted to tip her just because she was able to find our waitress and gave us some straws. Showed the steak to Nicole and she asked if I wanted the kitchen to put it back on the grill. I said no I, have them refire a new one. Apparently they never let it rest either because it bled like an open wound. In the meantime, I was filling up on the corn and baked potato; so when they did bring the steak around, I wasn't all that hungry. The steak they refired for my friend was still raw. We ended up taking it home. You don't need an instant read thermometer to be able to tell when a piece of meat is done. There is the old press on a test. Went to the restroom after dinner to wash my hands. Noticed that the sink was filling with water ie, not draining. There was a cook from the kitchen who was in there I'm certain he noticed it. Mentioned it to "turquoise shirt" who said he was a manager (?); he told me I have to press the button on the top to make it work. It's a sink! not a toilet, nor a urinal!! I've used them all before! Where is he from⁉ Later he, (turquoise shirt) showed up at the table and asked me how everything was? I said, "I guess you're comping our meals because it's been 20 minutes since they came over to tell us they were going to give us the check and it's still not here!" Once again, he was rather dumbfounded. But, he did find the check. That was the fastest thing they did all night. I should've taken pictures as proof, but we were talking with our friends. Another case of over 55 discrimination?

Suffice it to say it was not much. It's not her fault. $11 for a burrito?! I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. If you've got a group or a family, the ambience is good for that lots of tables open spaces and if you have no food, allergies, you can build one heck of a burrito, I guess Five stars for the service and a combination of two and three stars for the pricing.

To use a modern colloquialism: it's very mid. I liked the pineapple salsa. The chicken is okay, the chunks are decent sized. Portion however is a joke. The main issue is that there is NO WAY I would ever pay regular price for this. $13 each for this is outrageous. And that's without chips and guac. That would put it over $20 Last week Salsa Fresca had a similar deal and the food is better, the helpings are bigger, and they give you chips and salsa. No such courtesy here! You would need to fork over $4 more for that! In my opinion, this place isn't worth it. I'm half expecting a response to this from the owner in an attempt placate me with phoney customer service to look like they care, but the best way to do that is reevaluate your prices and stop trying to squeeze every dollar you can from your customers. And give us chips like your competitors! But I know you won't. In fact you'll probably end up raising prices. Peace out

It's just hard to get a good photograph because the lighting is constantly changing. Ivan has been our server a few times already. Today was a rough afternoon for him. He was the only one on, and the way it looked. You would think there were no other restaurants in the area. It was busy! But, being the professional is; he handled it very well. The menu and photographs are on a tablet. Pick out what you like and it comes to the table, it will look exactly like it does in the photograph. The food is very well seasoned, it's not excessively piquant nor spicy. You can taste the main ingredients. Plating is done aesthetically. Portions are more than ample. The dinner plates are imported and made in Mexico. Nice touch. On several occasions, I've seen families there with three generations, enjoying their meal. It's family friendly. Fortaleza has an App and a customer loyalty program. There is a spacious private parking lot in front, and the parking is free.
