Wonderful dining experience!! Every bite was excellent. We were greeted by our attentive server Katelynn with a complimentary chilled tomato soup shooter. A delicious taste to start. My cosmo was served with a domed bubble that popped releasing a puff of smoke. The whipped feta appetizer with charred eggplant and an arugula puree and crostini was divine. Met a friend for Sunday brunch. My first time. Ambiance and decor were very nice. Our waitress was very sweet and efficient. I ordered the Cretan Salad and added the grilled shrimp to it. Well, I was quite disappointed that the salad was basically 2-3 tomatoes, some capers, with shredded cheese on top. They included three shrimp to it. Now, don't get me wrong it was quite tasty and presentation was great, but when I think of how much I paid for it, I truly feel that I was ripped off. Oh, and I ordered a cup of tea, and the only tea available was Lipton which cost me $4. Seriously? The worst tea one can have! So my "salad" and cup of tea with tip cost me $47.00. In the middle of nowhere Delaware! I just had lunch near Newport, Rhode Island in a cute Indian cafe, we were three; two ordered salmon dishes, and one, shrimp tacos (two shrimp in each taco) with a drink, the total bill with tip was $51.84. I doubt very much that I will bother to go back to Pithari, ambiance, decor and presentation just doesn't cut it when you are extremely overpriced! read more

From ambiance to service to the food, this restaurant checks all the boxes. The food was phenomenal and the playing was done with care and attention. We had the Greek salad with chicken, which was delicious. While we didn't love the wheat barley base, we ate around it, which was delicious. When I pulled up to the restaurant it looks like an old bank building, but once inside the restaurant was pure character and elegance. The menu was awesome, it had some fabulous dishes. My family and I (all 8 of us lol) we ate the Moroccan shrimp, the meatballs and the hummus for appetizers again excellent. I ate the Lamb shank and my adult kids even ate it until there was only a bone left lol. The thing that really sold me on this place was the chef/owner came out and spoke to everyone dinning that night. He was very personable, and very honest. We were celebrating our daughter's birthdays and he just hung out with us for like 15 minutes talking to all of us. The wait staff are truly professionals and were there for us without us having to look for them. Our server was Maria very friendly and funny. We enjoyed the evening very much and will definitely return. I also hear they have a very nice happy hour, I will have to experience that for myself soon. The space is magnificent!!! It's a great first impression. Everyone who works there engages and welcomes you. They make you feel like you have arrived and are happy that you are there. I went for lunch this past week with two colleagues. Two of us ordered the chicken skewer lunch special (it is listed as chicken skewer under Lunch Special on the menu), and the lunch special for salmon skewers. Our waiter came over and said "confirming that you want the chicken skewers and salmon skewers? And we said yes. The lunch special comes with tapas (crostini) and salad. Our food arrived without the tapas and salad. Our bill came and we had been charged entree prices ($44 total for the chicken and $28 for the salmon) for the food. It feels as though it should be common sense for the waitstaff to presume that if someone is dining there for lunch, they are ordering the lunch special. After some discussion the price was altered on our bill (but not for the salmon), but we never received the salad or tapas. We also stated "lunch special" when ordering. Why would a diner order a dinner entree at lunch time to receive less food?? Was the waiter deliberately doing this to get a bigger tip??! The food has been good on previous visits, but I am disappointed, Pithari. Beware of this lack of clarification and a huge jump to your bill if you are attempting to dine here for lunch. read more

When we arrived, the host told us it was impossible to get a table, but just moments later, we watched them seat someone else without hesitation. The Santorini chicken was very good however the chicken kabobs were not cooked all the way and I unfortunately got sick afterwards. Pithari is pi-thetic. I wouldn't go here again. Pro's: our server was pleasant and the tiramisu was serviceable. Also, I liked the flavor of the seafood linguine, but it was overall too salty, which kicks off a long list of Con's: Too much salt in mashed potatoes that came with the lamb shank. And the eggplant ricotta appetizer was just bad: so a ricotta mousse, fine, but overtop of a mushy "eggplant salad", served with way too few crostini for the portion size. Also, some liquid-y green on the bottom of the plate, which I think may have supposed to have been a pesto something, but I wouldn't know because there was no way to get it on my crostini. Who invented this dish? Double yuck. The shrimp in the linguine was overcooked. And goodness, I tried to switch to soda after my first cocktail since I was driving, but I ended up just with water because the soda was dead flat, undrinkable, seriously? Also, if this is supposed to be upscale dining, don't seat us next to a service hallway. The menu wasn't long, usually a good indicator, but they couldn't even get the few dishes right. read more

My husband and I have been waiting for this place to open so tonight we gave it a try. We were impressed! The inside is beautiful and includes a second floor with additional tables. There were cool wooden shapes hanging from the ceiling. Our dinner started with a complimentary shot glass of tomato juice with olive oil, sourdough crouton and herbs. It was light and refreshing. We started with a Mediterranean Shrimp appetizer, which was four large lightly fried shrimp with three sauces and microgreens artfully arranged on the plate. These were very good, and had a hint of spiciness which the server warned us about, but we both thought was a good heat level. Our server (I forget her name!) was attentive and sweet. I had the branzino for my entree, my husband had the chicken skewer. We were 100% happy with both meals. My fish was one of the best I've had in years - perfectly cooked, moist and tender with a crisp skin, no bones and a large portion. It was accompanied by lovely tender-crisp vegetables; thin carrot and yellow squash slices, baby Brussels sprouts, small potatoes, olives, roasted red pepper, and asparagus (the stalks had been peeled, so thoughtful!). My husband's chicken dish included hummus, tzatziki, potatoes, and grilled pita. Both plates were like works of art, with the food presented in a beautiful arrangement. I don't know if the kitchen always has time to serve food this beautiful, we were there at 4 PM and it wasn't too busy. We were both comfortably full with the portions we had, and saw several other things on the menu we wanted to try, so we'll be back! The only thing I would change was that they were playing Christmas music that was a bit too loud. All the workers at the host stand and those clearing the used plates did their jobs very professionally. Entrees are reasonably priced between $20 and $36. The ambience was good and the service was good. The food was ok at best. We got the calamari as an appetizer it was very chewy (we get calamari often). We asked to swap it out to the whipped ricotta appetizer and the manager graciously swapped it for us. We tried that and honestly it wasn't good, there were strange textures with the eggplant salad and the green sauce was bitter, we ate about half and couldn't do it any more. She got the margarita flat bread and I got the house special of a lamb shank over mashed potatoes. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special and for $44 I would hope the lamb would be on point. We also tried the raspberry "cake" which wasn't very good it was more of a macaron flavor and consistency. All in all we got 3 drinks. Two mezcal margaritas which were good and the cosmopolitan from TikTok which was ok at best. All In the bill was $133 which wouldn't be a big deal if the food reflected it, the food lacked complex flavor and left much to be desired. I wouldn't recommend and we won't be coming back. read more
