Also enjoyed the White Wine Mussels. The broth was packed with garlic and a nice kick of chili flakes. Dipping the crispy sourdough into that rich sauce was easily the best part! The Arugula Mist was really light and refreshing. The peppery arugla flavor paired perfectly with my meal that followed. A really great way to balance out richer dishes! Also tried the Beef Burgundy. It was incredibly tender and slow-cooked to perfection in a rich, savory wine sauce. A comforting, deeply flavorful highlight of the night! Service was top notch! This is probably the best restaurant in Middletown. Came here for a Sunday lunch with family and we had a great time. It's bright, tastefully decorated and the service was 10/10, Victor was our server and he made the experience that much better. He provided guidance on cocktails, our meals, was extraordinarily helpful, kind and patient. We had a few appetizers: mussels, calamari and meatballs and they were a hit. Everyone enjoyed their meals including the chicken kebab, the burger, burgundy beef, the seafood pasta and the shrimp risotto. Renovated banks turn out to be excellent locations for upscale restaurants. La Grande Entrée, la pièce de résistance, is the staircase that accesses the upstairs dining area. The ceilings are adorned with what I saw as Bullwinkle horn moldings. Done as if they were beach driftwood. The decor is very much large scale fluid. The circular tables always promote chatter and conference. The Homemade Maeatballs, fresh Hummus, Blue Fig Flatbread for starters is a smart(ers) move. The seafood linguine is amazing. GO GO GO! Middletown is on the rise and I feel this place is definately playing a part in it. I've driven past this place quite a few times on my way to my sisters and vowed to one day try it. Decided to take my bestie for her birthday on Thursday and we literally didnt leave until they closed. It has this grand staircase the moment you walk in with a beautiful bar to the right. Seating is available on both the first & second floor but we were seated on the second floor. Our waiter Pedro was a gem! He was kind, attentive, funny, personable, and pretty much picked our entire meal for us lol. We started with the red sea cosmo drink. It was sooooo yummy. Most cosmo's ive had were strong and didnt taste good at all but not this one. The put a cute little smoke bubble on top too. They start you off with a palete cleanser. I didnt think I would enjoy it as much as I did. For starters we shared the shrimp & the meatball. The shrimp were good and from what I hear is a fan favorite....but that meatball BABYYYY was everything! I'd go back just to sit at the bar and eat that on a random day lol for our main course I had the chicken kabob and my bestie had the salmon. I tried her salmon and it was good but could have used a little more seasoning. However, my kabob was perfect. It was one big kabob layed on a bed of hummus, pita bread, and potatoes. I am NOT a hummus girlie but Pedro said its different from any other hummus and boy oh boy was he right! We also ordered a wildberrt mojito and it was perfect. After dinner we took a few photos on the grand stair case and decided we werent really ready to leave because the staff was so friendly and the vibe was just right so we headed to the bar and ordered some lemon drops. We arrived with a reservation but were huddled right by the front door in the path of a drafty, busy entrance with no waiting area. The mystery shooter we were served tasted terrible. For dinner, my husband ordered the shrimp risotto; the shrimp were good, but the risotto itself was undercooked with unpleasant crunchy bits and a strange flavor. My seafood linguine was mediocre, and I had to spit out the mussels because they tasted spoiled and uncleaned. Our server, Natalie, was so sweet and attentive and really cared that we had a great experience. Every single detail was more flavorful than the last from the melt in your mouth beignets to the main courses. Highly recommend the short rib hash...plenty of tender flavorful beef with a generous serving of home fries topped with 2 perfectly cooked sunnyside up eggs..I can't really say enough about this experience. A bit of Middletown historical tidbit, the building in which this restaurant resides in used to be the Wachovia Bank. During the Great Financial Crisis ( 2008 ), Wells Fargo took over Wachovia, and relocated its branch to Dove Run Plaza instead. Pithari is the second rendition of revitalizing this building into a high end dining venue. The interior is well decorated, with no signs of previous function. The menu is limited, with the selections of appetizers outnumbered the main entrees options. However, all entrees ordered were well prepared and presented. Pricing reflects that of high end dining, but reasonable when compared with others in the area. Staff was friendly, and attentive to our needs. My cosmo was served with a domed bubble that popped releasing a puff of smoke. The whipped feta appetizer with charred eggplant and an arugula puree and crostini was divine.
