There isnt anything special about this place. However the shawarma is delicious! Grab napkins because you will need them!

We came on a Saturday afternoon and we were not disappointed at all! Our food was cooked in a timely manner and was DELICIOUS! Great "home-made" taste. I have been coming here for the last 5 years and every time I come im always satisfied. I always get the combo plate which come with two pieces of chicken and two pieces of beef. Both are well seasoned and the portion size is just right. It also come with rice, hummus and a salad. I gave it four stars because the wait can be about 30 minutes sometimes and once in a while the chicken is a little dry depending on who is cooking it. The friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the grounds and tastiness of the food have been consistent, and have kept me coming back for more. The owner often prepares the food himself, and he is helpful when it comes to making suggestions. He has expanded the menu since the grand opening, and is actively seeking to please his customers by being sensitive to their feedback. Other staff are similarly helpful and kind. On my second trip, I was recognized and greeted. My favorite dish is the chicken kabob, which comes either as a wrap or a plate. It is carefully prepared by the staff, and well-presented; it looks and tastes great. The portion size for the wrap is perfect for me, and while I enjoy getting the plate, I often cannot finish everything on it. You can get a wrap for $3.99 and a plate for $6.99 - a good value, considering the quality of the food and speed of service. I went here for lunch today and it was pretty busy. I ordered the chicken kabob plate and asked for some turnip pickles on the side. I went to use the restroom while my good was prepared. A worker was calling my number when I came out. I signaled to him that it was my order. When I took the order from him, he gave me an exasperated look and said, "I've been calling your number for awhile." I told him that I was in the restroom, but he just walked away. Rude!! I left with my food and when I got home I found that they didn't include my turnip pickles. Not a huge deal, but just added to my less than great first impression. The combo plate is definitely a large portion. I'm not a big meal type person, but for those who are, this is the place to go. And if you like Mediterranean style, the flavors are fantastic. WHY IN THE WORLD ARE MY COMMENTS GETTING DELETED?! here it is again.... Being middle eastern, I consider myself a fairly judgemental critic when it comes to eating middle eastern food outside of home. But Im sure glad I found Pita's in the middle of NOWHERE in Irwindale, where all you can find is cheap meat subways and drive thru galore. The place was very clean and the staff was friendly as well....It took me a quick minute to decide what I wouldve liked to eat because of the wide selection in meats, vegetarian plates and sides.... But I ended up getting the chicken kabab plate, served with a side of hummus and salad. Also, I wanted to try the falafel.....it was PHONOMENAL!!!! The chicken was ALL white meat, no skin or bones.....rice was flufft and light and the hummus untouchable! The falafel was one of the best ive had....next to my grandmother's home cooked. haha I told myself id defintely go back once more.....and I did!!! On my second visit I tryed the Beef Shawerma wrap.....and I must say I have yet to have such tender, flavored and CLEAN meat. The shawerma practically melted in your mouth....i didnt have to chew for minutes at a time for a bite. This place gets 5 stars from me! Both my visits were exsquisite! This is the best Mediterranean food we have ever eaten. The bulgar wheat is the best; the fish, chicken, and beef are all superb! The filafel (sp?) is amazing, as all the dishes are. Best Greek food around! This place is near my workplace and the staff is so great about letting me call in my order ahead of time. Its always ready within minutes and it always tastes delicious. My favorite is the beef and chicken special that comes with white or wheat rice, salad, babaganoosh or hummus, and a drink. George and Annette are great! Today was a Friday and for some reason they seemed shorthanded, but Annette was a rockstar, taking care of me and all the other customers in record time! That extra effort was much appreciated. i have been here a few times the food is good. My issue is the old man that I have seen multiple times yell and be disrespectful to his employees. Once again today when my co worker and I went in for lunch I witness and heard him yelling at one of the employees while we waited for our food. Mutiple people in my office also have seen this behavior not only towards the employees but as well as to the customers and they have stopped going there because of it. This mans behavior is unprofessional and I created this Yelp account today because his behavior is unacceptable. It was bad! I feel awful writing this but the chicken kabob was a dry flat piece of chicken w/ grill marks on it- not a skewer. The hummus was so-so but the texture was off. Went there for the very first time yesterday around 5 pm. My son and I are new to the area and my son was hungry and craving Mediterranean food. I looked up Mediterranean food near are new home and this place popped up. He wanted the beef shawarma and I ordered it to go. I didn't get anything from here I went to drive thru at Farmer Boys. Got home noticed soon afterwards that the beef shawarma looked weird at least to me . I should have tasted it but I didn't . Son didn't mention that he liked it at all usually he will make a comment when he likes his food at a new place. If he doesn't like the food he will not comment because he's polite that way. He did not finish his plate. I was surprised he took only one bite of the pita because he loves pita and breads. Didn't eat hummus or salad just half of the beef with some kind of sauce on top. This morning he woke up feeling awful took him to school. Teacher called and said he didn't want to eat and had a slight fever. I took him home he rested woke up then threw up and went back to sleep. I don't know but I'm not going back. I noticed another person post a comment of about their meat and questioning the cleanliness of the place(Evett L.). To bad I didn't read reviews before coming here. I'm giving this place two stars based on Meat looking bad, no comment of the food from my son and Evett's rating.
