Chicken Kabob
Yvette M.

We've always enjoyed the food here and how everything was freshly made. However, this last visit was a miss. We tried the Lemon Chicken, Chicken Kabob Plate and the Gyro. The Lemon chicken was so overcooked and beyond dry and the veggie kabob that comes with the plate was cold. The Chicken kabob was on the dry side as well. The chicken dishes all tasted like they were reheated. The Gyro was still good and plentiful. All the plates were plentiful. Lemon Chicken came with overcooked roasted potatoes, a nice side salad and pita bread. The Chicken Kabob came with roasted potatoes, salad and pita bread. We dined in and service was outstanding. After this visit, we most likely won't be back.

First off I love a place that welcomes you as you walk up and asks if you have any questions and makes suggestions. The woman at the counter was so warm and friendly telling us her favorites and I wish I had gotten her name because she deserves all the recognition for great customer service. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was prepared fresh and to perfection. I could literally just eat a big plate of the lemon potatoes and be more than happy. We got the Pitaki Ap'ola which is a combo plate of almost all their meats, with potatoes and salad. The plate is $37 and could feed 4 people. It was just me and my boyfriend and we have enough leftovers to have it for dinner again tomorrow and then some. Great deal for such a good portion. The restaurant itself is small and tucked into a little strip mall that surprisingly had good parking. Cute quaint little spot. They had a steady stream of people eating in and picking up take out. Will definitely make this my regular go to for Greek food. Owned by a husband and wife who were making all the food and personally checked on us and made sure we had everything we need. Crazy good service for "quick dining" spot

I didn't have high expectations at first, but I was totally blown away! As a Thai person who had never tried Greek food before, I found this food incredibly delicious and every bite was impressive. I highly recommend this place--it's a must-try!

Came here as a friend's recommendation. Her husband is from Cyprus and shares that his place is the most authentic Greek he had. It is a small Togo like eatery with some tables to sit. To my surprise, it is the first time I probably had Greek food, because most places that advertise as Greek or Mediterranean, don't cook pork! This place has pork gyros! Friend enthusiast and friendly staff. With interesting items I never had before. I tried the rice lemon soups and spanakopita. Comforting rice soup with chicken and rice paired with toasted bread. The spankopita served with Greek herbs and feta cheese. We ordered the lemon chicken plater and the chicken gyro plater. Mine came with rice, veggie skewer and Greek salad while other plate had herb potato and Greek salad. On the had their roasted eggplant dip. Flavors are amazing and cooked to perfection. The half chicken falls off the bone and my chicken gyro finely seasoned and spit roasted. We had a couple of their desserts. I will definitely come back here and try other dishes. We also plan to buy catering for here too!

Greek family owned restaurant... WOW! Everything we ate ... Homemade ... WOW! Reasonable prices .. DELICIOUS FOOD.. WOW! Great menu .. Greek wine ... Dessert ... WOW! Am I going back soon? YES !!! I am so impressed ... WOW!!!! My friend had the moussaka with Greek salad and I had the veggie plate. The moussaka was heavenly and my falafel, dolmades, grilled vegetables, hummus and tabbouli was a gift from the gods. I also loved the Greek Mountain Iced Tea. Nice surprise. Took some almond cookies and baklava to go. Delicious... great service and cute restaurant. Will be back soon.

I've only heard amazing things about this place and decided to try it out. I wasn't disappointed at it at all. We ended up getting the lamb gyro plate and then the dipping sauce platter to try them all. For the amount of food you get for this price is insane too. The lamb was good with the spicy feta and the tzatziki sauce and the melitznosalta sauce. The plates also come with an option for potatoes and fries with a salad. So it is slot of food and is pretty filling. Service is also amazing, everyone working is nice and helpful telling you about the menu. They also provide plenty of pita bread for the dip sampler. There are some indoor seating but not a lot of outdoor seating which it lucky wasn't as crowded for lunchtime on the weekend.

Stuffed Tomato & Pepper with side salad. Absolutely delicious with fragrant rice in the tomato & bell pepper.

Stumbled onto this place and what a pleasant surprise! A nice family owned neighborhood Greek restaurant in Long Beach. Fantastic menu with many classic selection. Went with something different and glad I did. Stuffed Tomato & Pepper with side salad. Absolutely delicious with fragrant rice in the tomato & bell pepper. Herbs and spices were just right and did not overpower the sweetness of the entire dish.... Chef's kiss! Cheers to you Pita Pitaki, LBC is lucky to have you!!!

Salmon plate!!!! It's always so good!!!!

If you are ever in the mood for Mediterranean/greek food, you HAVE! To try Pita Pitaki. Here is the low down: Location: it's really kind of hard to see, so pay attention bc it's in a little strip with other dining establishments. The parking lot is kind of smaller, but it's usually no problem. Food: UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! I have been pretty partial to the salmon plate which consists of these amazing Greeks style potato wedges that are melt in your mouth good with olive oil, I nice portion of grilled salmon topped with capers, a salad with feta cheese, a skewer of grilled vegetables, and tzatziki. The lamb burger looks insane! It's so big. I haven't had it yet, but fellow diners have nothing but great things to say. I am a huge fan of their dry white wine. It compliments the salmon plate very well. They also have beer and non-alcoholic beverages. The ambience is always very very clean. I never see guests with dirty dishes or any dishes left on the tables after diners have left. Tables are always clean and ready to be sat. The service is always on point. I've never had to wait very long considering how detailed each dish I have had has been. If you're looking to try flavorful, fresh, large Portions, and a place where you truly feel valued, hit up Pita Pitaki!

Lamb gyro combo with fries

I can't recommend this place enough! You're immediately taken in by the delicious smell of the food as soon as you step through the threshold. The facility is always clean and it gets a lot of business. I always order the same thing every time I go and that's the lamb gyro. The portions here are amazing and the price is so reasonable. $12 for the gyro itself (and the amount of meat is INSANE!) and you can make it a combo for $4 extra (your choice of salad or fries plus a drink). Regardless of who is greeting you at the register, they are always so friendly and happy to take your order. The food comes out in a really decent amount of time. When you choose to dine in, the plating presentation is really nice and they check in on you often. I love this place. 10/10

Chicken gyro no onions

Came here because a friend who got baptized this was her choice for dinner. It was actually really good. I'm middle eastern so I tend to critique middle eastern/ Greek food harder than someone who isn't. The place is small but they quickly accommodated our larger group by grouping tables together with zero issues! All employees were super friendly and knowledgeable. I got the chicken gyro no onions they got my order correct. The fries were better than McDonald's lol crispy and just perfectly cooked! I would add more tomato's or maybe cucumber for some crunch but the size was ginormous I couldn't finish it you can definitely split it into two meals but my hubby just ate the chicken from the inside. I'd come here again even tho we don't live nearby !

Mousaka Dish

OMGOSH! This place is FANTASTIC! Outsmokes Greek Bistro in Laguna Hills!! The lampchops are to die for. I ordered the Mousaka which I know how to make as I was married to a Greek man. FANTASTIC! My mother in law used to tell me that my Moussaka was the BEST she had ever tasted! Much better than mine.....Well... one of my redeeming qualities!! Beautiful presentation, venue outside amidst the bougainvillea--- then the best finish is the Galatoburiko and Greek coffee... Talked with wait staff as they checked in on me. Wonderful!!

Tried the daily special at Pita Pitaki. A lamb gyro, fries and a drink for $15. It hit the spot and was pocketbook friendly. I definitely recommend this gem of a restaurant. The food was hot and made to order. The portion was too big enough to have leftovers.

Absolutely the best lunch special in Long Beach. Delicious and consistent every time, especially love the salad and generous crumbled feta.

Do they have waitstaff service and about how many can they seat outdoors, about?

No you order at the counter. Outside there's only two small 2 seater tables from what I remember.

I've read newest in pits and believe you all have met my needs. Do you use and have any part of MSG (monosodium glutimate)? I have seen so many places that either do in part or non at all. So if you can help me I would be appreciated. Rick & Davi

We do not use MSG. Have a good day!

The pineapple added to what's basically a Cuban style sandwich sounds different at first, but it works perfectly. The balance of sweet, savory, crispy, and smoky was spot on. The server (owner?) asked if we wanted cheese and Cole slaw, and that's how we got it. The sandwich was big enough to share so if the sandwich seems pricey, consider sharing. Although on a hungry day, I could probably eat it all with no problem. Dilly's has a fairly decent amount of craft beers on draft. I wasn't in a beer-drinking mood so I didn't look too closely at the list. I love it when restaurants support local brewers, and this looks like the kind of place that would do just that.

Heard about Dilly's Sandwiches having the most unique rotating set of beers on tap in Long Beach,…read moreso had to come to try it. The taste portions were very reasonably priced, allowing to create your own flight (or two). Specifically scheduled an early afternoon to come to the Lakewood Village neighborhood of East Long Beach. My wife found an angled parking spot right in front. It wasn't too crowded inside and the four of us found easy, comfortable seating in the brightly decorated dining room. One places and pays for the order at the counter, with the proprietors being very friendly and engaged. They brought out our beers after the pour, and the sandwiches a bit after (since each is individually carefully made). Beers: - Northern Lager [Oxbow] - ($5 for 13oz pour) was clean, crisp and a hoppy aftertaste. - Infinite Hotel [The Wayfinder X Bierstadt] (marked as $3 but charged $4) is a rice lager and was the favorite of the group for its drinkability - Winteruption [JK's Farmhouse] ($3) is a cider with very strong maple syrup overtones: never tasted anything like it. - Hyper Paradise [Rare Barrel] ($4) - saison and ale with mango and passion fruit. I liked this beer very much. - A Place Like Home [Pure Project] ($3) - Nitro poured Extra Special Bitter. - Double Negative [Grimm] ($4) - Imperial Stout, which I really enjoyed. - Amongst Friends [Sante Adairius] ($4) - a cherry saison, unusual and was glad to sample. A lot of work was put into creating this flight, with the careful pours and markings to make sure I knew what was what. I really appreciated the opportunity to sample all of these on-tap. In terms of the food, the group as a whole really liked them, though I guess I wasn't as impressed with my two samples, mainly because it used non-descript deli meat in OK quantities, heating them up when necessary. Hot Beef ($18) was my wife's, and it had been griddled with cheese to form a crispy lattice. The Ham and Cheese ($16) was served cold and had potato chips inside which my mother-in-law liked (saving the other half for home). Our friend and I split the Hot Turkey ($16) and Pastrami No 19 style ($20). The pastrami meat was piled high and the cole slaw was crisp and good, but was served cold (should have read the description more closely) and mediocre rye bread broke apart quickly. The Hot Turkey ($16) was served on ciabatta that had been grill pressed for a long time, creating a wonderful crust as good as any sandwich I've had. But the filling was OK, using standard turkey breast slices from a loaf and an ok stuffing...using hand carved turkey would have made a big difference here, but understand it's hard to do. Strangely, even though it's a pickle adorned shop, each sandwich just came with an ordinary pickle spear, what one would expect from a diner, not a deli. And the prices are on the higher side, especially with no sides and most not being particularly ginormous. But I loved how each sandwich used different breads, and how some of them were toasted very well. And having the opportunity to try these unique beers made it a really good experience.
