Chicken pita
Angela H.

Went during lunch time. No wait. I got the chicken pita and it was really good! Everything was fresh and the portions are large! Definitely worth checking out.

Located near local hospitals and Syracuse university. Good selection of different pita sandwiches and all sandwiches can be made into a salad. If your a hospital employee you get a $1 discount. I got a southwest pita turned into salad. It was a good. Would come here again to try a different pita as a salad.

I got the Dagwood club and chicken souvlaki pita (chicken cooked with Mediterranean spices). There are tons of topping options that include various vegetables, sauces and cheeses. I ordered on GrubHub and got an ETA of 9:35-9:45 but my order didn't come in this window. It came at 10:01. In their defense, the shop's 25 minutes away from me. I called to check on it and the phone call ended on its own before I was connected to anyone. I called a second time and for a girl who said "all orders were sent out" without specifically checking on my order or asking who I was to confirm. I like that this place opens super late. The closing time here on Yelp is incorrect. I've tried this chain pita shop in other cities before and have really enjoyed it. It's like the Subway of pitas. My order said "include utensils/napkins-yes" but I didn't get either. Overall, I liked that you get options on pita size, I loved all the topping choices, I liked that the pita wasn't super thick (thinner than a tortilla), and i loved the horseradish dijon sauce in my pita. I thought the chicken souvlaki pita tasted better than the Dagwood one because of the flavors I chose for it and its size. Having a larger size meant having more filling and less wrap. Each bite was uneven because the meat was on the left and the vegetables were on the right (because it was so large). The food was great. I'd order again but keep in mind that the food may take longer than predicted.

Place is great, ordered a nice philly cheese steak wrap that had peppers and onions on it before the game, along with some bbq chips, was ready in reasonable timing, it's a small place but does a great job!

Located near Syracuse university, Pita Pit is another great quick stop for a quick bite. Choose between a white or wheat pita, choose your own meat, choose your veggies, and choose your sauce to personalize your own pita wrap. I ordered the pita wrapped with gyro meat. You're also allowed to ask to grill some of your veggies together with your meat. Came here during the winter, so a hot pita was the perfect snack to warm our bodies up! Great place for college students for a fast, tasty, and cheap meal to keep you from hanging the next day!

Grabbed a burrito from here since I needed something quick. Since I needed takeout, this place works since they don't have a lot of seating. Ordered the gyro pita, which was tasty and better than just getting a deli sandwich. Make sure you know what you want to add before you order so you don't hold up the line.

Here is my wrap with the wrong stuff. It was supposed to be the chicken souvlaki order.

Food was okay but they got one of the wraps wrong. I ordered chicken souvlaki but they mixed in lamb, forgot the tzatziki, and added cheddar cheese. Over all it tasted good but I don't like lamb and the cheddar cheese ruined the wrap. Delivery was super quick, efficient, and friendly.

Not bad, quick delivery, stuffed full, fresh veggies. Downside was that I ordered one pita warm but it came stone cold.

The food took 1 hour and 50 minutes to arrive, and it was cold. They didn't even include the right drink. Really disappointed.

Pita Pit is ok but I miss Pita el Saha! This place has some good sauces though. Never really had any issues. Very quick service

The place was pretty small and unassuming from the outward appearance. Upon coming in, there are limited seats, but everything was neat and clean. I could smell some enticing aromas from the kitchen. Not sure if they are short staffed, but it took a while for someone to come to the counter to take our order. I really was looking forward to having the lamb gyro, so that was what I ordered, as well as ordering a baklava for dessert. The food took a while to come out, but I'm fine waiting for something great to eat. They did have a number of takeout orders that were served while we waited, maybe 3 of them. Once the food came out, the lamb was pretty nice, and there was a reasonable portion of meat in the gyro, as well as some tomato, lettuce, and onion on a nice pita bread. But the tzatziki was very disappointing, it was very thin, and didn't have much flavor. That sort of killed the whole gyro. The baklava was very tasty, and had nice pistachio crumbles on it, but the honey was a bit too much, giving it a very soggy bottom. Flavor was good though, and I don't mind a little messy dessert. All in all, I was a little disappointed with the meal. I tend to be a little generous in my reviews, so I gave it three stars, as I felt I couldn't rate it as a 2, but I couldn't quite give a four star rating. I'd give it another try, but maybe not go for a gyro.

Everyone I met (while ordering takeout and waiting) was outstanding. They gave good, solid recommendations based on my needs (vegetarian) and the food (again) was as delicious as if there was a little Lebanese grandma back there cooking to make sure you didn't leave either hungry nor disappointed!! We arrived around 2:30pm on a Thursday, there was only one other group there. We were immediately greeted and our waiter was super friendly and chatty. The inside is pretty casual, and they played 2000s hits at a good volume. We started with a cup of Turkish coffee... I've never had Turkish coffee so maybe this is standard, but they did not offer cream or sugar. I don't usually like black coffee but it was surprisingly light, and the serving was pretty small so I actually quite enjoyed it. The owner later said it was the brand Utica coffee (which I love). We ordered the loaded fries, which came with taziki sauce, feta cheese, and tabouleh. Usually loaded fries feel very heavy and greasy, but these tasted very fresh. For the main dish, we ordered the Elias Gyro and the Layla Gyro. My pallet is usually more oriented towards lots of flavor and spice, so I found the Layla Gyro to be lighter than I would have liked. There wasn't as much sauce as I was expecting, but it was still very moist. I loved the pickled vegetables in it, but I wasn't a huge fan of the fries. The Elias Gyro was a lot more flavor heavy thanks to the garlic sauce, which was delicious. The meat in both gyros was cooked perfectly. Lastly, we had the baklava. Ive never had baklava before so I have nothing to compare it to, but oh my goodness it was so good. Overall, super positive experience. It's always such a treat to see the owner walking around interacting with customers, and I would definitely go again whenever I want something light and fresh.

It's a build-your-own, line-style setup, and when we arrived there was a good line of people--which is usually a good sign. My friend JD picked the place, so I let him go first and watched how it worked. I ended up getting a bowl with falafel and just loaded it up. I chose salad instead of a full bed of rice, with just a little rice added. By the time we were done building it, my bowl was so full I could barely close the lid and that's exactly how I like it. The food was fresh, healthy, and flavorful. The staff were very friendly and patient while we made our choices. The restaurant is built around a build-your-own bowl or pita concept, offering vibrant ingredients, aromatic spices, and perfectly balanced textures in every bite. I ordered the chicken shawarma bowl with rice, greens, and plenty of toppings each element tasted clean and homemade. The chicken was tender with that smoky-charred edge you want in shawarma, complemented by crispy chickpeas, tangy pickled turnips, and creamy hummus. What really adds to Lafa's appeal is the modern, comfortable setting and outdoor seating area, perfect for enjoying your meal in the fresh air on a sunny day. The vibe is relaxed yet polished, making it just as great for a quick lunch as a laid back dinner with friends. The staff are friendly and efficient, keeping the service quick without ever feeling rushed. Portions are very generous for the price, and the freshness is undeniable you leave full but never weighed down. Their apple cider green tea is refreshing and pairs perfectly with the bold spices of the food. Between the clean ingredients, generous bowls, and the option to dine outside, Lafa has the balance of health, flavor, and atmosphere perfectly figured out. It's one of those places that keeps you coming back not just for the food, but for the overall good energy.
