Chicken and lamb plate with rice, gluten-free naan and side salad
Stephanie B.

From the bright white decor, the friendly staff (and patrons) as well as the flavorful delicious Mediterranean food--Kabab Guys Mediterranean Cuisine is a restaurant you will put on your favorite list whether you live in DeWitt/Syracuse NY or just visiting. Not only do I have celiac disease, I am also a foodie and very picky. For me it's not just about how great the food tastes, it's also about the experience: meal presentation, staff friendliness, food allergy knowledge, restaurant cleanliness and ambience. Kabab Guys checks all those boxes and more--and the staff and owners were extremely accommodate and knowledgeable regarding my gluten allergy--they even made gluten-free naan for me. Yay! Hummus is one of my favorites and I have to say Kabab Guys hummus will make your mouth water. Not only did I have their hummus, I also had the lamb, chicken and rice--all were exceptional--I can see why this restaurant has a consistent flow of patrons. If you don't eat chicken or lamb, no worries, they also have fish, beef and veggie plates. If you are like me and have celiac disease the falafels, fries and pita wraps are not gluten-free, however they have many other options that are. Thank you Kabab Guys for a wonderful experience. I will definitely be back when I visit Syracuse again.

Grilled Salmon - Platters

Really wanted to love this place but it was meh. First, walking in, the place is beautiful! Loved how bright, clean, open it was and the artwork was beautiful giving homage to places around the world. I was greeted (barely) by a woman with a really dry and cold reception. While I attempted to make small talk telling her how beautiful the place was, she never smiled and didn't entertain any discussion. I ordered and had higher hopes for the food to be better than the service. I'll admit, the food was tasty. I had the salmon platter which was cooked well and seasoned perfectly. The salmon, rice and salad was all delicious but not worth $22. If I could put a price on it, I would say about $18 worth of food. I think it was a little pricey but the food had great taste. Nice place, service isn't good but the food is good just a lil pricey.

Stopped here on a whim and we are already wondering when we will next be here. Fast service. Really good food. I got the chicken Schwarma wrap. I'm a guy who doesn't like my sandwiches with tons of filler. Meat and sauce. These guys designed this wrap with me in mind. Literally all chicken and Garlic Aioli in a wrap with a nice sear and grill marks. My gf got a Lamb Kebab Wrap. The meat was very tender and she was really happy with it. So filling she couldn't finish her fries. Restaurant was very clean with beautiful pictures over every table showcasing different middle eastern cities with accompanying music. Can't recommend enough.

$35 mixed grill kebab. The rice was amazing- like the smallest of dusting of spice to it made something simple pair so well with the meat.

Food 5/5 service- very kind 5/5 Ambiance- very clean 5/5 Food 5/5 We will be back! Totally unexpected experience for a place that is off Erie Blvd in Syracuse, tucked back into a plaza.

Shawarma chicken and Shawarma Beef - Platters.

I'd been hearing so many good things about Kabab Guys I had to check them out. We went to the location on West Genesee St. I ordered through door dash for pickup. The menu has so many choices! I ordered a chicken shawarma platter and a beef and chicken shawarma platter. Both came with a garlic aioli that tasted excellent mixed with the meats. It also came with rice that was so delicious! The meats also were delicious! Not overly spicy just perfect! I also ordered the nut baklava so buttery and delicious! Definitely will be going back! We had to wait a little bit for our order but that's ok it was well worth the wait! Staff was very nice! Nice and bright in the restaurant with parking right out front!

Run, don't walk to Kabab guys if you like Mediterranean food! Stopped in for lunch and ordered the lamb gyro and beef shawarma combos, along with falafel and baba ghanouj. Quite literally the freshest gyro meat I've tasted. Everything was served nicely on platters, and the restaurant is fresh and very clean. Will definitely be back!

This is one of the best new spots in Syracuse for Mediterranean or middle eastern style food. Clean restaurant, friendly service and delicious food! I went with the Kebab Platter which came with Lamb, beef, chicken and kibbeh over rice with a small salad. The beef was filet, which was tender. The lamb had great flavor and the chicken was what you'd expect with chicken I guess! The rice was a solid portion and the small salad was a nice touch. One of the show stealers was the garlic aioli dip that they provided with the meal, it was delicious and gave the chicken what it was missing. Solid quality and quantity for the price I paid, we will definitely be back to enjoy their other dishes! Quick service too. I saw a couple shawarma plates come out and it looks like that'll be my next selection!

The place was pretty small and unassuming from the outward appearance. Upon coming in, there are limited seats, but everything was neat and clean. I could smell some enticing aromas from the kitchen. Not sure if they are short staffed, but it took a while for someone to come to the counter to take our order. I really was looking forward to having the lamb gyro, so that was what I ordered, as well as ordering a baklava for dessert. The food took a while to come out, but I'm fine waiting for something great to eat. They did have a number of takeout orders that were served while we waited, maybe 3 of them. Once the food came out, the lamb was pretty nice, and there was a reasonable portion of meat in the gyro, as well as some tomato, lettuce, and onion on a nice pita bread. But the tzatziki was very disappointing, it was very thin, and didn't have much flavor. That sort of killed the whole gyro. The baklava was very tasty, and had nice pistachio crumbles on it, but the honey was a bit too much, giving it a very soggy bottom. Flavor was good though, and I don't mind a little messy dessert. All in all, I was a little disappointed with the meal. I tend to be a little generous in my reviews, so I gave it three stars, as I felt I couldn't rate it as a 2, but I couldn't quite give a four star rating. I'd give it another try, but maybe not go for a gyro.

My spouse had a grape leaves dinner and I had a falafel "gyro", we, both, were pleased with our selections. The rice was made with vermicelli or angel hair pasta, as we hoped, and perfectly prepared, as were the grape leaves and falafel (to my taste, the falafel should be just slightly "crunchy " on the surface).

We arrived around 2:30pm on a Thursday, there was only one other group there. We were immediately greeted and our waiter was super friendly and chatty. The inside is pretty casual, and they played 2000s hits at a good volume. We started with a cup of Turkish coffee... I've never had Turkish coffee so maybe this is standard, but they did not offer cream or sugar. I don't usually like black coffee but it was surprisingly light, and the serving was pretty small so I actually quite enjoyed it. The owner later said it was the brand Utica coffee (which I love). We ordered the loaded fries, which came with taziki sauce, feta cheese, and tabouleh. Usually loaded fries feel very heavy and greasy, but these tasted very fresh. For the main dish, we ordered the Elias Gyro and the Layla Gyro. My pallet is usually more oriented towards lots of flavor and spice, so I found the Layla Gyro to be lighter than I would have liked. There wasn't as much sauce as I was expecting, but it was still very moist. I loved the pickled vegetables in it, but I wasn't a huge fan of the fries. The Elias Gyro was a lot more flavor heavy thanks to the garlic sauce, which was delicious. The meat in both gyros was cooked perfectly. Lastly, we had the baklava. Ive never had baklava before so I have nothing to compare it to, but oh my goodness it was so good. Overall, super positive experience. It's always such a treat to see the owner walking around interacting with customers, and I would definitely go again whenever I want something light and fresh.

I chose salad instead of a full bed of rice, with just a little rice added. By the time we were done building it, my bowl was so full I could barely close the lid and that's exactly how I like it. The food was fresh, healthy, and flavorful. The staff were very friendly and patient while we made our choices. The restaurant is built around a build-your-own bowl or pita concept, offering vibrant ingredients, aromatic spices, and perfectly balanced textures in every bite. The chicken was tender with that smoky-charred edge you want in shawarma, complemented by crispy chickpeas, tangy pickled turnips, and creamy hummus. What really adds to Lafa's appeal is the modern, comfortable setting and outdoor seating area, perfect for enjoying your meal in the fresh air on a sunny day. The vibe is relaxed yet polished, making it just as great for a quick lunch as a laid back dinner with friends. The staff are friendly and efficient, keeping the service quick without ever feeling rushed. The ambiance was upbeat, energetic, and fun, and it made the evening feel extra special. We also ran into so many friends throughout the night, which added to the celebratory atmosphere. For my entrée, I ordered the sea bass with a mango sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked and the mango sauce added a great balance of sweetness and freshness to the dish. The risotto on the side was okay, but the sea bass itself truly stood out.
