    Beef Shawarma
    Katie P.

I love when I get to visit Kabab Guys! I always order online and it is promptly cooked and is always fresh. The restaurant is beautiful, clean, and bright, and the staff are very welcoming and helpful! Pictured with this review is the Beef Shawarma Combo. The combo itself is $12 and comes with the shawarma wrapped in either pita or saj (I like the saj!), fries, and a soft drink. The shawarma was SO GOOD. I typically get chicken shawarma but I was feeling like shaking it up. The spices are so distinct and can easily be tasted. The beef was tender, not chewy at all. I love a good crunch and will ask for extra pickles/onions next time! The wrap also has a tahini sauce. The sesame flavor really came through and was a perfect complement to the shawarma. The fries are always nicely fried and crisp. Included with the fries is a really tasty and fresh seasoning which makes them feel a little lighter - even though they are fries! I ordered a side of garlic sauce ($1.50, I think) to dip them in, and they also have ketchup available. The garlic sauce had a really great punchy flavor and was well worth the extra buck or two. I highly recommend Kabab Guys if you are looking for something quick, flavorful, and reasonably priced! With so much else in Fairmount, I think they are often overlooked, but nothing beats the fast, friendly service and the delicious food! Also note there is extra parking in the back.

Tried Kabab Guys for lunch. Great service and lots of seating, even for larger groups. I had the shish tawook kabab with extra garlic aioli. The seasoning to the chicken was a little different than expected, but the sandwich was still tasty with the aioli and veggies.

The food is okayish no sauce on the chicken Shawarma platter. It was thin chicken chunks cut from that rolling thing, bland to be honest. Served with a side of garlic dip which was dry. When I spend $19 I expect something of quality rather than quantity. It had few salad on the side. And basmati rice with no flavor just color. I was excited at first but disappointed as I was eating it. The staff seemed helpful and courteous. I would rather pick other places near the Syracuse University than visit here again.

I was in the mood for something different at kabob guys. The salad was fresh and lemony. The soup was nice and hot on a chilly day in upstate ny. The kabob was on like tortilla instead pita but was good. The best past was the baklava...pure heaven! The guys at the front were friendly.

I buy the same sub - the club sub - from the same Jersey Mike's on West Genesee in Camillus,…read morerepeatedly. Turkey, ham, provolone, bacon. Tonight they got it really wrong. Fortunately, it doesn't happen often at Jersey Mike's - however that's not what this review is about. This review is about the person who took my call. After they looked up my order, I told them what was missing from my sub, which was shocking as it was missing mostly everything except an everything. There was no lettuce except for a few stray shreds. It had no onion when I asked for extra onion. It had no pickles on my sandwich which I also ordered. And it had NO BACON which is part of the sub. One side of the sandwich had half a piece of ham and the other had a slice of turkey and no cheese. Basically half the sandwich was empty and the other half was missing most items. But a bad sandwich is not a tragedy. I called and attempted to tell the employee on the phone what was missing from my sandwich and she kept talking over me. I couldn't understand what she was saying because there was a lot of background noise - so I started repeating what was missing again and she told me loudly "I don't need to hear all of that!" - which was really rude - and then she said "we have 15 people working today because of our month of giving and I have no idea who made your sandwich. (I didn't ask who made my sub) I'll give you a refund" which was fine - until I heard her say to someone else: "this woman is yelling at me." At first I thought she can't be referring to me because I had not raised my voice. I had not yelled. As a matter of fact, I was very understanding that with all the extra people working for their charity promotion, it is easy to make a mistake. I can imagine what happened: somebody started making a sandwich - got distracted, and somebody else just wrapped it up and put it with our order. But what I overheard her say disturbed me, so I asked her: "did you just say I was yelling at you?" She replied "No- no. I said you were just 'asking' me." That's not what I heard, though. I heard her distinctly say I was yelling at her. Her conduct really left a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. I think it's a great thing that Jersey Mike's has an entire month in March donating to charity, but don't take out your chaos on your customers. Being rude to customers is not the way to keep them. This particular Jersey Mike's location should use a new slogan: Jersey Mike's - Good sandwiches. Bad attitude. The fact is, for the first time I just noticed that their health score is extremely concerning. I know on a math test 96 out of 100 is great but if you click on the Health score and you see why four points were deducted - you might not want to eat there. Doubt I will.

The person taking the orders tends not to take the time to listen so you end up repeating yourself. They are so conditioned to make thing 'mikes way' when make a change they seem to get confused. You have to watch them carefully so not to end up with a sandwich soaked in oil and vinegar. They pile on a lot of lettuce to make the sub look larger then what it really is. Order a sub with no veggies and see how little meat there is placed on the sandwich. It's just a fancy subway, that's expensive and not a 'goto' for subs. The menu would get old fast.

We started out both getting the Dutch Mules to drink; which was a nice crisp take on a classic Moscow Mule. I also got The Stapleton later; which consisted of a fine whiskey, triple sec, OJ, and some other additives which was like drinking a whiskey mimosa without the bubbles. Super delish! My wife got the Knickerbocker sandwich on the special list, and I got the Huckleberry panini. Both very satisfying and satiating in their own ways. Both came with homemade in house chips covered in light spices We loved it, and will be back! Reasonable prices without cutting costs; which is definitely appreciated these days.

I ordered the Beef of Weck and Potato Salad given past reviews seemed to deem these two items as menu staples. The potato salad was fine, in need of a big pinch of salt. The Beef on Weck was a hardy, and a big portion for a sandwich, the extra horseradish wasn't necessary unless you're really a fan. However, the sandwich should be eaten with the au jus, otherwise it borders on flavorless. I did find the bun overly salty. Filling but not fufillying. Additional note... When I went to pickup the staff member wanted me to sign off on a receipt of the full amount without the discount. When I stated I paid online, he responded it had to do with the fact DoorDash doesn't allow for a tip. When I asked for a new bill representative of what I paid, the manager came and said they ask for the signature to confirm it was picked up... Then I said, I can indicate that here on the app, and he agreed and let me go with my food. Overall the interaction made me uncomfortable as I've never experienced a similar situation with pickup. Perhaps just me, but something I feel someone should be made aware of if they're ordering to-go.

The calm ambiance and muted, cinnamon-brown walls of the space's predecessor, Cafe at 407, which closed at the end of 2023, have been replaced with TVs in the dining area and bar, a wall-length mural and a little nook with a neon sign that reads "Say Cheese!" and Polaroids of satisfied customers pinned to the wall. The menu taps into childhood fast food nostalgia, with burgers, fries, onion rings and milkshakes -- plus beer, wine, cocktails and boozy sodas. With five burgers, two chicken sandwiches, two salads, a few shareable starters, Fly Bird chicken tenders, a Chicago-style glizzy and a fried fish sandwich served only on Fridays, the menu isn't long, but offers enough variation to appeal to most diners. The wife and I stopped in on a Saturday right at opening time. We were sat and given menus immediately. We decided to share a burger and fries and an order of tenders. We ordered the blue suede shoes - a burger topped with cheddar, bacon, lettuce, tomato, carmelized onions, pickles and house remoulade and an order of hot stuff buffalo tenders. Our food was brought relatively quickly and we enjoyed everything. Fries were fresh, crispy and seasoned, burger was cooker perfectly, the tenders were fresh, crispy, saucy and had just the slightest kick of heat to them. Our server was very friendly and helpful, prices were comparable to similar restaurants, and we has plenty of food to bring home. We'd definitely go again.

I read up on the menu and discovered they offered lamb chops which is one of my absolute favourites. A taste of home for me! Friendly and efficient staff welcomed us and showed us to our table. So far so good. Very nice young woman looked after us. My wife ordered the rigatoni and I had the chops. She loved her rigatoni so much she's finishing it off 2 days later and still loving it. Sadly my dish was a bit of a disappointment. My two large chops were extremely fatty. It's the kind you simply can't cut through on a slippery plate. Trying to separate what little meat there was from the fat was impossible so I had to give up and bring it home to a cutting board and an extremely sharp knife. I haven't tried to eat it yet but it looks as fatty as the first. Both had been totally covered by a condiment that I think should have been served in a separate container to allow the diner to regulate the amount desired. The base was a pilf which made trying to cut the chops even more difficult because every time the meat or the knife slipped, the table was showered with grains....all a bit slapstick....! As I previously said, my wife loved her meal and the previous visit was epic so I hate to criticise but I'm just trying to be honest and fair. I think $45 for a couple of very fatty chops with not much meat and smothered in a vinaigrette you might not like is a bit cheeky... In different circumstances I would have sent it back. Oh well, you live and learn...
