As soon as we walked in, I went straight to the bathroom and it was disgusting - that's how I know this place was gonna be good. The frozen crawfish was subpar, to be honest. They do have very good deals though. We got dollar soldier shots and 1 pound of shrimp with the head on with Cajun fries for $20. Not to mention the brussels sprouts were very good. Be careful with the full house sauce if you get a spicy, it does have a kick to it. read more

My go to shrimp boil spot. They have a great Happy Hour special. 2lbs of shrimp for $20 11:30-3pm. $3 canned Beers and $1 Soju shots. Can't beat that price anywhere. The staff have always been super friendly and helpful. I feel this restaurant is highly underrated. Cerritos has a ton of restaurants and some have a lot of hype. People are definitely missing out on this place. Highly recommend. The food is high quality. The shrimp have always been jumbo and full of Cajun flavor. I always get the Full House: garlic butter, lemon pepper, and PK sauce. Medium spicy level. With corn and sausage as my add ons. read more

The food was really good, like really good. We ordered wings, fried oysters, shrimp broils, and fries. The buffalo wings were delicious asf. The seasoning in the broils was great! We had shots! They were SO SMOOTH! They seemed a bit short staffed BUT Ashley our greeter/server/cashier WAS AMAZING. She was a one woman show! She greeted EVERYONE WHO CAME IN. So i found them on tiktok Because a blogger claimed that they offer 2 pounds of shrimp for only $20 all day any day So i had to try myself! And yes. They really do All you gotta do is show the video! Food was good. I ordered mild flavored & it still had a good kick to it! It was very tasty. Service was good. We waited a while tho. About 45 min even with the yelp check in But once you're seated they serve pretty fast & constantly check on you! They had music playing & everyone was vibing & eating! Best place nearby or far. $25 for 2 pounds. $20 for 1 pound and Cajun fries. Always fresh. Hot. Flavorrrrrrrrr. Sauce it down you do too much. Sauce is so good and so much. Bomb. Place looks so cool. Came here twice when I was craving for seafood. It is located in a busy plaza. There were plenty of parking spots. Service was prompt, and we were seated soon. Our server was very friendly. There was modern minimalist pirates decorations throughout the restaurant. We ordered the Cajun fries and captain combo: king crab, corn, sausage, mussel, shrimp, and crawfish. The Cajun fried was crispy, not oily, and perfectly seasoned. We chose the house sauce, which has "everything" in it for our seafood. The seafood was not over cooked. They tasted very fresh and sweet. The sauce has a little spicy kick to it, but not overly powerful. Price was reasonable and worth for what we paid for. Shrimp smelled like ammonia, and it was overcooked and mushy, not to mention it was extremely bitter. The overall flavor of the shrimp was bitter, and all the limes were bad. I tried to make so many excuses when I was so excited to try this place. After speaking to the waitress, it took a couple minutes of going back-and-forth to get the shrimp taken off the order they smelled like ammonia and, overall quality of the food was terrible. Save your time money and energy. Just go to boiling crab. It's 2 pounds for $20 for a reason. Second time here and it would have been 5 stars however our shrimp was overcooked. The flavors are on point( go all in) and mild can even have a spicy kick at times. Definitely will come back as the first time was gooood! They also sell a 3 pack of soju and if you cant drink all three bottles, you can take the left over unopened bottle to go! Will try this spot again the next time Im in the Cerritos mall area and look forward to that 5 star experience. read more

Friends recommendation of sawing a Tik Tok promotion of 2lb shrimp for only $20. For first timers, crawfish places is known mainly for getting messy and socializing . The restaurant is in the plaza where Pho Yummy and a popular Italian restaurant so parking can be hectic during its peak times. Inside is very inviting if it's your first timers. You do get a bip and gloves. Bip is protect your front and gloves if you don't want to get your hands messy. Veterans...there's not much to say except the differences: - Full house (high recommended): includes lemon/garlic butter and PK sauce - Spice level from 1-5: the level 5 (aka 911) is their spiciest level. However, if you are spicy lover, it will tickle your throat and give you a face, but it's not that spicy The 2lb shrimp tik tok promotion is the same during their lunch time but they can honor it anytime as long you show them the video proof of it. There's a Yelp check in for free $3 can beer of Modello and something else. Got the promotion, full house, 911 with extra add ons of both sausage and potatoe and order of Cajun fries. Sodas are fountain and refillable Was it worth it? The waitress was honest about the spice. Omg. The full house with 911 spice blends in well with the corn and sausage. Service is excellent but maybe because it wasn't a ful house. Eating with gloves makes it harder to peel off the shrimp do do what I do...no bip and no gloves and let's get messy. It lasts from 11:30am to 3:00pm. Very affordable! I chose the Full House sauce, which is a mix of garlic butter, Cajun, & lemon pepper at a Level 2 Medium & added half a pound of sausage. The shrimps were fresh & cooked to perfection. Their thick sauce was impressive. It was so delicious eating the shrimp with a bowl of rice. Service was great. Seemed a little short staffed when I had walked in. The theme of his restaurant is a pirate theme. This place is located in a busy plaza. Parking can be a little hard during the weekdays & weekends. I got the $20 for 2 pounds shrimp special from 12-3pm, I got all in sauce with mild spice with potatoes and sausage. 10/10. Flavor is so good, they gave so much sauce to dip the shrimp in and it was so flavorful. The waitress was very kind from beginning to end and made sure we were taken care of. Don't trust the bad reviews and try this place out for yourself! (They are probably spoiled cry babies expecting a full on show and feast for 20 be real!!) first time trying pirates kitchen and super happy i came here for dinner. my server was super sweet and guided me on how to order and attentive with my table. the shrimp is a bit smaller than other places i tried but all the shrimps, mussels, and crawfish i had in my bag were delicious! ngl i got their full house flavor and it was salty, not sure if i could've adjusted that but that was the only downside to it. i also love how they had so many different sauces come out. like garlic butter, extra cajun sauce, ketchup, ranch, and some thing else i can't really describe lol. overall this place was an 8/10, would definitely come back again :) read more

Loved from start to finish!! Our server Ben was basically the GOAT of servers. I've worked in service for half my life and this kid was astronomical especially given his young age. And, just so you know my bar is set very high. He was great as explaining the concept as this was our first time there. The food was exceptional. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. I got snow crab legs and shrimp. My dad got shrimp and clams and my husband got another boil and my teenagers got a pasta and tacos with asada fries. Everything was tasty. Ben was especially attentive. Excellent food, service and great ambiance. I'm a Cerritos native who has moved to Wyoming where the food scene is non existent this place is a gem. This hot boil is tasty and spicy, even the mild is spicy. I had both the mild and medium and can hardly differentiate the spiciness level. The food is good and the service is good as well. Was disappointed that they didn't have everything that they offered in their menu. Really wish they sold King Crab but never the less the snow crab was still satisfying. read more

I stumbled upon this place exploring the plaza and I was pleasantly surprised! The food here is tasty and the service is great. Walking in, we were kindly greeted and shown to our seats. I do believe the seafood is frozen, but the flavor is still on point! Coming here, I got the first mate combo which includes 2 pieces of corn, 2 potatoes, a half pound of sausage, and one pound each of crawfish, clam, mussel, and shrimp. You then get to choose a sauce. These are garlic butter, lemon pepper, Cajun, and full house which is all the sauces combined. Afterwards, you can customize the spice level from level one through five. Personally, I love spice, and I didn't find level 5 too be all too spicy. The waitress was super nice and got us extra pepper extract to spice it up! We also got appetizers which included sweet potatoes fries, calamari, and fish tacos. The sweet potato fries were solid, sweet and crispy! The fish tacos were solid as well and I do appreciate that it came with some quacamole. The calamari on the other hand wasn't it for me. It's decent, but tasted like something I can get from the frozen aisle at Ralph's. Overall, the seafood, which is the main attraction, was tasty. The restaurant has a fun pirate theme and I think it's a great place to bring friends or family. read more

I love coming here with my friend. It's so delicious. The wait isn't as long as boiling crab and they taste very similar. They have a promotion of 2lb for $20 which is great considering half a pound is about $20 at other restaurants. The staff was super helpful and kept checking up on us. The service was basic. They put out a paper on our table and brought out our food. They are very skimpy on the lemon, salt and pepper. You have to keep asking for more and they give you very little each time. Let me start off with the fries - they were soft, not crispy and lacked flavor. The seafood is not fresh. I repeat it is not fresh, it is frozen seafood. However, they prepare it, it is obvious that nothing is seasoned or marinated. Their house sauce, which is the daddy sauce didn't do any justice for the seafood. Highly disappointed, especially that we spent a pretty penny. I stopped eating the crawfish and the clams altogether. I continued eating the combo which came with a lobster, crab, legs, and shrimp with the head on. I just could not find any of the seafood tasty. The lobster was terrible, extremely overcooked and chewy. The shrimp, same thing. The crab, it was acceptable. The best thing in this bag was the sausage. There was also potatoes and corn, but I didn't bother to try it. So if you are looking for something quick with no line, come here. But if you want quality and are willing to wait, go somewhere else. I was quite surprised to see a lot of pick up orders taking place.

I am extremely disappointed with the service and management at Pirates kitchen. Our reservation was completely disregarded, and instead of being seated promptly, we were told to wait for a staggering one hour. It's absurd to claim that there are no available tables when it is evident that there are empty tables right in front of us. We were left sitting uncomfortably at the bar, feeling neglected and ignored. To make matters worse, the staff's unhelpful attitude added insult to injury. We politely requested some water while we waited, but the lady we approached seemed disinterested and unbothered by our simple request. It is basic courtesy to provide at least a glass of water to guests, especially when they are kept waiting for an extended period. What truly adds insult to injury is the absence of the owner or any responsible management personnel. It is beyond belief that the owner would not be present to oversee the operations of their establishment. This lack of accountability and professionalism reflects poorly on the entire business. Considering the overall incompetence, lack of consideration, and absence of proper management, it is clear that Pirates Kitchen does not value its customers. As a result, my companions and I are seriously contemplating leaving and taking our business elsewhere. It is disheartening to witness such disregard for customers who had made the effort to book a reservation. I strongly urge the owner of Pirates Kitchen to address these issues immediately. Neglecting customers' reservations, providing subpar service, and failing to manage their own business is simply unacceptable. It is essential for the establishment to prioritize customer satisfaction and rectify these glaring shortcomings. Based on my current experience, I cannot recommend Pirates Kitchen to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience.
